Holiday Inn Ipswich - Orwell

I stayed here for one night with my son as part of a bundled package with my ticket to see Ed Sheeran at Portman Road. From the moment we entered the hotel, every staff member was friendly and so helpful. We arrived a couple of hours before the stated check in time, as we planned to have lunch in the bar first. The receptionist said if our room was ready there was no problem with checking in early. It wasnt, but she came and found us in the bar about 20 minutes later to give us our key. Lunch and drinks were reasonably priced. Our room was spotlessly clean. The hotel doesn't have aircon, but they had placed a portable aircon unit in our room, which was already switched on. Our room was beautifully cool and this was a really nice touch. As we headed out to the gig, the receptionist handed us a bottle of ice cold water each to take with us. When we returned to the hotel, they had kept the bar open late. It was lovely to be able to get a cold drink before bed. The staff also said that breakfast would be served till 10.30 (instead of the usual 9.30 on a weekday) as they thought people might want a lie-in. A nice touch! Breakfast was hot, fresh, plentiful and replenished regularly. Every staff member we passed smiled and said hello. Would definitely stay here again.
