Macdonald Pittodrie House

We visited last Saturday (07 December) for afternoon tea, very disappointing. The drawing room was freezing, the only heat was from the 'blazing' log fire which when we arrived was barely lit with two logs. One of our party kept the fire stoked all afternoon as no member of staff looked at it. The coffee was cold and the tea luke warm, we did get more when we asked for it to be replaced but throughout the whole afternoon nobody asked if we were enjoying it, would we like more tea or even a drink. Whilst we understand costs are high for heating and its difficult to get staff but that is no excuse for a group like MacDonald It's a beautiful setting and such a pity that none of us will go back.

Great location if you plan to hike up Bennachie.

Peace and quiet. A very relaxing stay which was just what we needed. I was disappointed there were no pillow protectors. Having been in the egg industry, the eggs at breakfast were beautiful and cooked to perfection. I assumed they would have come from a local producer (you have a large one at Strichen) I was shocked to hear they were from Nothern Ireland. This is why I marked you down a little on “eco” I appreciate larger hotel groups buy this way but perhaps from the “green” perspective this may need to be reviewed. We would love to stay again.

Very pleasant, quiet, one-night stay. Very pleasant, quiet, one-night stay. The most-comfortable super-king size bed ever, slept like a baby (not bad for an 72 yr old). Staff delightful, very responsive, all in all two very satisfied customers. (ps did mention a couple of minor issues which desk staff took note of.)

A great hotel experience Great, scenic location. Warm and comfortable in late March. Friendly and efficient, helpful staff. Wonderful food. Our double room had a huge bed, no corners cut! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

A wonderful stay We have stayed here many times over the years. The remote old world atmosphere is quiet and relaxing. There is a lovely view and the grounds are well kept. The staff couldn’t be more helpful and friendly, the food is excellent. Highly recommended if you need to get away from it all.
