The room is spacious and clean. The only hiccup was that, at first, we got a room with a double bed despite booking a family room on Trip.com. When I asked the reception staff, she said there was no family room per se in the building, and in the booking that they had, it didn't say that I wanted a family room or how many people would be sleeping in the room. For them, a family room is a room with a double bed and an extra bed. The staff managed to change our room to one with an extra bed ready, so it wasn't a problem.

The format of the Rocpool has changed since our 1st visit. Afternoon tea and 'spoons' hour are now included in the price. This experience certainly makes the offering unique and is a bit like a business lounge where you can order your drinks but a much more individual and luxury experience - all high quality treats. The small hotel with car park is just 10 mins walk to city centre and for those who like small boutique hotels the Rocpool offers a great experience with personal service from wonderful staff

Friendly and efficient staff. Room was large and comfortable. Decor perhaps a little tired but we e were lucky enough to have a river view. Breakfast very nice but not such a fan of the tick box menu. The time it takes for staff to explain, check and make any amendments could be spent just taking order. I can understand that it is more convenient for the wait staff though in busy periods or with large groups.

We stayed at The Penta from Sunday, July 17 through Thursday July 21, 2022. That Monday, we had a private tour of the Isle of Skye, and got back to the hotel at about 8:30 PM. We were tired and went to the hotel restaurant for dinner at about 8:50 PM, right before it closed. My wife ordered salmon. Huge mistake. At home, we would never order fish on a Monday, and especially not during a heat wave. But, we were on holiday and let our guard down. My wife is a physician (internal medicine), and based on the timing and severity of her symptoms, as well as her prior meal, she is extremely confident the salmon was bad. (My son and I ate burgers.) The next two days were a nightmare. She was in bed all day Tuesday, alternating between vomiting and violent, putrid diarrhea. We had a private tour booked to Glencoe on Wednesday, and were so thankful that it was not a bus tour. Our guide, Andy, stopped often for her, but we finally had to cut the tour short. This was truly disappointing as we flew to Scotland from NY for this vacation. I informed the chef of our suspicion on Wednesday evening. He told me he did not work on Monday night, but would look into it. He seemed genuinely sympathetic, but I never heard back. I also informed the front desk staff, who were similarly sympathetic, but I heard nothing from them, either. I was really disappointed by the utter lack of follow-up. Food poisoning is a serious health concern, and everybody apparently blew it off. If you are considering staying here, let me provide an honest assessment of the hotel below. Restaurant (F) See above. It earned this failing grade. Staff (B-) Over our stay, I interacted with four or five people, and they could not have been more polite and helpful EXCEPT FOR THE UTTER LACK OF ATTENTION TO OUR FOOD POISONING REPORT. i asked for a fan because the hotel, like most in the city, has no a/c. They provided two, which really helped. They were all friendly and nice. I would give the staff a solid A were it not for the food poisoning incident. Amenities (A+) The hotel bar is nice, and features a pool table and very ample, comfortable seating, including couches and tables. I enjoyed playing pool with my son while my wife recuperated in bed. The lounge bathrooms were modern, large, and spotless. The fitness center is quite good, with everything you need for a decent workout, and even has a tv and sound system. Plus, you can reserve the room for an hour. Location (A+) The Penta is a 5-minute walk from the train station, and is really close to wonderful pubs, restaurants, shops, etc. You can walk everywhere you need to be. Room (C-) We paid for the premium room, but there was absolutely nothing premium about it. The room was small, much smaller than we expected after looking at the photos online, and very, very sp****. There are no closets, so you get to hang your clothes on a hipster metal pipe that is attached to a desk. That said, the room was clean and serviced n

Generally acceptable and clean hotel. However, I was almost tricked by being given a room that’s “HALF-CUT” by the rooftop. Essentially an attic (picture 1) at first.
There are actually plenty of normal empty rooms being cleaned as I could see walking to the elevator.
I asked the front desk if I could be re-arranged and they gave me another room.
Pretty bad experience as I felt discriminated and tricked for unknown reason. I asked a fellow customer who checked in around the same day and he didn’t get allocated the attic room.

We visited inverness for a short time and we honestly couldn’t of had an easier accommodation experience, the staff are very friendly and attentive to your every need, when we first arrived they upgraded our room for free and let us check in early further more when we wanted breakfast in the morning it only cost us £10 a head and they offer a wide range of breakfast options, when we checked out they also let us keep our bags at the house whilst we spent our last few hours exploring the city. Highly recommend, priced well too.

First let me say that the owners were incredibly kind and accommodating. It pains me that to even write this but I thought fellow travelers should hear my experience. First, there are two aye stays in Inverness. My gps took me to the wrong one first. That was awkward. After I finally figured it out, the place was very cutely decorated with Scottish and Loch Ness decor. Contactless check in was easy however a board with everyone’s name and room numbers does not feel super safe for me a solo female traveler. But over all easy enough. Next I stayed in room 7 which is up a flight of stairs so make sure you pack light! (Which you should do anyway in Scotland.) My room had just been renovated with new carpet but it smelled like off gassing and I had to open the window (which was broken) there was a radiator for heat which I had no idea how to use. So it got a little chilly. Now here comes the problems: the rooms are very close together and the walls are paper thin. I was kept up until 3 in the morning hearing conversations and snoring. We were only given the choice of receiving breakfast between 7:30-8:30 in the dining room. So I woke up earlier than I would have liked to eat breakfast. Which was just okay. Nothing too outstanding to write about but again the hostess was very sweet. Overall I could see that they’re trying their best. But I would recommend sound machines in each of the rooms or something so people can have a good nights sleep. The location was pretty good and just over the bridge from the high street.

GGuest UserWe had an amazing experience at Ness Walk Hotel. Thank you to Kevin and the team for looking after us so well. The food was excellent & service was 5 star. The hotel itself is finished to a very high standard and the rooms are luxurious. We will definitely be returning. All the extra touches like champagne on arrival made it very special. The staff can’t do enough for you.
GGuest UserExcellent hostel! Great common self-catering facilities; there were two full kitchens with plenty of tables and seating so multiple parties could be cooking at a time. Staff were very helpful and let me leave my bag before check-in and after check-out to accommodate my bus times.
The room (4-bunk female dorm) was very spacious so plenty of room for sorting through my bags. Bunk was large and included a USB plug and power outlet there. Room had large attached shower and toilet rooms.
GGuest UserVery nice hotel, well situated and adequate for our needs, not much can be found at fault with this place staff were pleasant and attended to our request when asked. I would definitely stay here again.
AAnonymous UserThe hotel is far from the city center, but it is convenient for self-driving and has a good environment. The room is old and old-fashioned, with poor sound insulation, but it is still relatively clean. The breakfast is more English, but also has Scottish characteristics, with several different choices. I had dinner once in the hotel, and it felt average, not worth recommending.
GGuest UserAfter having two bookings cancelled over the last two years, we finally got to make our trip back to Inverness arriving on the 8th March for two nights as a birthday treat. We were booked on a great package for a two night stay that included breakfast, two course dinner for one night, afternoon tea and a free cocktail at dinner. Check in was easy and we received friendly service from the reception staff, who stored our bags for us until the room was ready, due to us having arrived early on the Caledonian Sleeper train. Our accommodation was in a Royal room which was large and spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfy and super king in size. The afternoon tea was quite nice, with tasty sandwiches etc, but the evening meal in our opinion was exceptional, with very attentive service from the restaurant staff. We had the steak (where there was a supplement) and the salmon, which was absolutely piping hot and just so delicious. The crème brûlée for our deserts were also really enjoyable. There were a list of cocktails to choose from, and you could exchange for wine beer or cider if preferred. The hot breakfast the next morning also was delicious, very tasty and well cooked, and mine had gorgeous scrambled eggs. You could help yourself to juices, drinks and buffet offerings like cereals and pastries etc. The staff overall all provide brilliant, friendly and efficient service after what must have been an horrendous two years. One lady in particular that oversees breakfast, provides exceptional service. Yes this hotel is dated, (if I was being really picky then I’d say some furniture needs replacing), but it adds to the character and charm somehow, and we just love it. This is the second time we’ve stayed here, and certainly will again. Thanks for a lovely stay.
GGuest UserReally disappointing experience compared with the photos displayed on their website. Here on business for four nights. On my first night I was allocated a room with a connecting door, the guests next door returned to the hotel around 11.30pm and played music till 3am. It felt like they were in the room with me. I honestly don’t think they were that loud, just absolutely no sound proofing in the room. I requested a room change as I had confidential calls to make, the reception quickly allocated another room for me, but based on the accommodation areas it is just a very tired hotel. Tight entrance into room and toilet area. Have to say lovely breakfast and food in the restaurant was good, as are the staff. Sorry would not choose to return.
GGuest UserThe hotel is old, living up to the local architecture, however its facilities are in perfect condition. I found a call! Very polite attendants.
There is no private parking, but it didn't work. There is a public car park a few meters away which charges £5 per day.
YYONGJust next to the Loch Ness Exhibition Hall, the parking space in the exhibition hall is the parking space of the hotel. Just stop and don't need money. You can park your car next to the hotel after 6pm. In fact, this is a motel, the room is upstairs (feeling is 2nd floor and a half, big luggage is hard to move, more fitness), no elevator, the room is large, there is a small bed, it is suitable for a family of three. Clean and well equipped. Breakfast is not included in the room rate and breakfast is available at the first floor for breakfast. There is dinner on the 2nd floor, the price is cheap, the taste is ok.
GGuest UserOk so it’s a hostel ! But in this day and age i expect it to be cleaned between the different parties staying here ! It’s more than just the bedding needs changed and cleaned regularly ! Ok guests please keep the kitchen clean and tidy well it didn’t happen and the mould in the fridge and the general cleanliness of shared areas left a lot to be desired !! Sorry regardless of it being our responsibility when clearly it’s not being done staff should be ensuring health and safety is paramount especially given the current climate We cleaned up after ourselves but unless we went in with scrubbers, bleach and steam cleaners it would take days to clean up the mess that was the kitchen I was in a room two singles and a double and not enough room leftover to swing a cat never mind put all our gear bags etc we were literally on top of each other There’s no shared sitting room or anywhere other than the kitchen to relax, converse or do anything really ! The bathroom was ok apart from the bath panel Hanging off oh and the mould around the bath/shower but it was hot !
DDADONGThe hotel benefits are 2 minutes walk from the train station. I have two large beds with a bathroom, and each bed sleeps big and small. No problem. There are also some cheap rooms that are common to the restroom. Breakfast is normal, the mainland breakfast is basically cold food, after eating and packing, it seems that only one person at the front desk waiter is on duty, and once I saw her returning from the outside to buy food. The hotel does not have a parking lot and parking is troublesome. In addition, there is a Chinese restaurant in the hotel, which is very good. The picture is a street view outside the hotel, within walking distance to major attractions and shops.
