The good: Had a nice 2 course meal at Radius restaurant. The rooms are quite spacious with a lovely view if you have a premium room which we did. We enjoyed the games room, playing table tennis and air hockey. In between: Also enjoyed the pool and spa after waiting over an hour to go in there when there weren't screaming children. It's all enclosed which makes the noise very loud and I think people staying at the caravan park and cabins also have access to the pool - not just hotel patrons. It was quite a walk outside to the pool area which is not great when you're wet going back to the room and it's cold outside. The bad: The list is too long for the price you pay here. The worst of it was the service. Rude, inattentive, couldn't care less, condescending and inexperienced would be the best description of the majority of staff there. The reception staff were the worst I've encountered in any hotel anywhere. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with a short "Yes" (with the look of what do you want) to the checkout of first being ignored, then when I realised we could do an express checkout we tried to find a pen and were still ignored until my husband finally interrupted and asked for one, to not being asked anything about how our stay was. Same for the meal in the restaurant. We were not asked once how it was, although it was actually quite good. Looking around during our stay, no staff ever looked happy or interested in customers. The shower in the bathroom was a nice big shower with the smallest stream of water from the tiny shower head I've ever seen. Adjusting the settings didn't help. The bed on the first night was good but they put new mattresses in the rooms on the second day and it was like laying on a brick. My back was killing me in the morning. Hubby said the same. The room we had was interconnecting so noise travels through easily - again, the staff didn't care. I had to knock myself and asked them to pipe down since they were being so loud. The buffet breakfast was adequate but limited. The area for it is very small so we were constantly getting rude older people trying to push in everywhere. Everyone is on top of each other. Overall, would we stay here again? A hard no. We have stayed at RACV Goldfields Resort in Creswick 3 times and loved it. The staff were the exact opposite of Inverloch. Maybe the whole staff and management could go there to do training. It's also significantly cheaper.
