Stayed in room 3 recently refurbished king size bed nice furniture and new carpet.The new owners are starting to upgrade the bedrooms.The food is fantastic I had lamb balti and my wife's seafood pasta was out of this world followed by buttery homemade strawberry 🍓 tarts. We will return soon.

All aspects of our visit was very pleasing. Drinks and food served all excellent and extremely tasty. The hotel is warm and we were met with a warm welcome. It’s easy to see how comfortable the residents are whilst staying there seems like a home from home

Stopped off when travelling for evening meal was not disappointed. Fish and chips very good, biscoff cheesecake excellent. Food served quickly, staff very friendly and good prices. A wee gem in a quiet village.

Spent 2 nights as we were attending a service up near Banchory and wanted to break our journey both ways., Very good VFM, breakfast was absolutely outstanding freshly prepared great selection including nice and crisp toast accompanied by a very decent cup of tea. I would say in my 65+ years of experiencing breakfasts in the UK this ranks as number 1. Bed very comfortable, clean room and good shower facility. Bar prices very reasonable and wide selection of good quality dishes on the food menu. Nothing to do in Inverbervie but easy to commute further north and would recommend Stonehaven with great outdoor heated pool suitable for adults and kids!

Bad customer service... Had to go find someone to take order... Nobody came to ask how food was...had to go up to bar to get myself a drink despite guy standing doing nothing with 1 customer Had to find someone again to pay bill... Bad service... Won't be back

Great value for money lovely refurbished room 3 king-sized bed with new carpets and furniture. 5star dinner and breakfast in newly refurbished bar and dining area will certainly return great staff always helpful.

The food here was very good. Tasty and good size portions. The waiter was new so easily to forgive some of the mistakes. He did seem to be either forgetful or not fully briefed on what was no longer available. I'm all for sink or swim but there was a definite need for someone to guide him. Asked for potatoes, receives chips. Same thing I guess. Salad didn't arrive with kids meal, upon asking you could see the waiter and one other looking at the menu. Seems they didn't know what was offered. Asked for Strawberry ice cream, none was available after initially saying there was. They don't do kids size portions of sticky toffee pudding, says on the kids menu they do. An adult portion it had to be. Then there was the wait, wow. Still waiting to be asked how our food was too. We have always had the bill presented before paying, we got the card machine and an amount to pay. Plenty options available locally now, we shall give this place a swerve next time we are visiting.

We had stayed at the crown hotel a couple of times in the past but this visit would be the last .found the room smelly and dirty . Left without staying . The management done nothing but argue and sent photos of a freshly cleaned toilet did not look like that when i saw it Never again
