We are unique! Turnerville Tavern is a private farmhouse/gift shop/300 yard driving range located in the middle of the Bourbon Trail in central KY. With vintage furnishings and a large downstairs living room dedicated to all things KY, families/friends can gather here and feel at home. The home is over 4000 square feet so there is plenty of room to move. It is located down a private lane with a beautiful view of the land. There are 3 outdoor porches to sit and view the 40 acre farm and a gift shop with souvenirs. We basically provide everything except food and clothing. Other amenities include a 6-7 person hot tub, fire pit, cornhole boards, books, ping-pong table, games, spacious yard, and farm animals. There are free range rabbits, chickens, and pigs that roam around and call Turnerville their home. Come "hit the hay" at the Tavern. *Free bucket of balls and drivers provided. Feel free to bring your own. This central location makes it convenient to visit all the top notch distilleries. It is a place to kick back. With a central location you can head out any given day in any direction to visit many popular Kentucky sites. Others come to spend their entire time at the farm just to relax and hang out. We furnish everything except food and clothes with country eggs available upon request from our chickens. Choosing a group name is a must! We customize a message board especially for YOU and showcase the names of our past groups. Everyone that visits leaves their mark at our place. Please feel free to ask questions. We are here to help. Our place is close to the Bourbon Trail. You’ll love our cabin because of the warm interior and amazing outdoor space. Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families. This cabin located in the country on our 500 acre farm, but you are 3 miles from restaurants, groceries, pharmacies and shops. The location is also central to the distilleries: 15mi to Maker's Mark, 35mi to Jim Beam, 50mi to Woodford Reserve, Lexington, and Louisville.The cabin is a studio or loft style, so its very cozy for couples. There is not a private bedroom. Families can have fun all together playing games or cards. The downstairs entertainment area is the perfect place to catch a game or favorite TV show. There is Direct TV with a huge package. A DVD/Blu-Ray player is upstairs. There is free Wi-Fi as well. You are going to love it! The outdoor space includes one of the bathrooms (kept heated in winter). You will have full run of the creek bottom. Feel free to walk about the property and play in the creek. We have a well maintained walking path through the property which is definitely unique and a firepit. You will love every view from the full wrap around porch and the interior will instantly help you relax. The property is located just 12 minutes off The Bluegrass Parkway between Bardstown and Springfield, KY. Shopping and dining is minutes away and you are within 30 minutes - 1 hour from most distilleries. 2 bedrooms with King beds and attached bathrooms, as well as, a large loft area boasting 2 Queen beds and multiple sitting areas, gives you plenty of room to spread out. A stunning historic countryside property located in Springfield, KY. A perfect place for a weekend away, bourbon trail homebase, company retreat or large event. The house features three bedrooms, three and a half baths and a full kitchen. The Carriage House features 3 bedrooms, two baths and a game room. With the rental of the house you also have the ability to add on the rental of the private lake located on the property. For event rental details please contact owner. History: Built in 1842 the historic Simmstown Manor has lots to offer. The house was originally built by Harvey McElroy for his daughter, Mariah McElroy Simpson. The original owners were devastated by the Civil War and the property was then sold to John Simms. John Simms had amassed a great amount of wealth prior to the war and unlike many others was able to sustain it during the war and use it to purchase the sizable brick mansion and the surrounding lands. After a few years he owned the 2400 acres surrounding the great house. The Simms family completed a two story wing on the north side of the house and moved in in 1868. The house held many grand parties and entertainments during the Simms’ time and often opened its doors to the most prosperous and socially prominent families around. When John Simms wife, Sarah Celclia Simms, died in 1895 he surveyed his 2400 acres of land and divided it among each of his five surviving children. His youngest child, Mary Simms Smith was given Simmstown as her part of the property divide and her father continued to live with her until his death. Upon Mr. Simms' death Mary kept the house and it was passed through the family until 1983 when Mr. and Mrs. E. O. Kelly Jr., the great grandson of Mr. Simms decided to sell the house to the current owner, Mr. Larry Hodge. The house and grounds both went through an extensive renovation with efforts to keep historical aspects in as many ways possible.Note: The home has security cameras to monitor the driveway, as a safety precaution.
