Mills River Retreat is a Hike, Bike, and Brewery base camp nestled perfectly between Asheville, Hendersonville, and Brevard, NC! We are minutes from Asheville Regional Airport and Sierra Nevada Brewery. It’s the perfect location for day trips to Biltmore and Downtown Asheville, hiking in Pisgah National Forest, brewery and winery hopping, and so much more! There’s a road bike route that passes right in front of the house, and world class mountain biking is minutes away. Mills River Retreat sleeps 6-or 8 with the pull out sofa located in the upstairs Master den. We love dogs! 🤍🐶🤍 2 dogs maximum are welcome with pre approval and a non refundable pet fee of $100. The backyard is fenced with a large grassy area to play (but not guaranteed to be escape proof-please keep an eye on your pets and children at all times.) Always pick up after your pups, and please notify us immediately if there are any accidents or damage 🤍The open concept living/kitchen/dining area is the perfect place to gather. A locally made farmhouse table has seating for 8, and there’s a game table, home bar, and two of the comfiest leather sofas ever for lounging. An electric fireplace just below the large screen Smart TV provides the perfect cozy ambiance. The kitchen is well appointed and is open to the living and dining rooms. It has stainless steel appliances, a dishwasher, huge farmhouse sink, and is well stocked with cooking pots, pans, utensils, and starter spices. Begin your morning with fresh brewed coffee from the Coffee Bar! It is set up with whole bean coffee and grinder, or pods if you prefer the Keurig. Creamer and sweetener are also provided. The entire upstairs is a spacious master suite with a beautifully tiled master bath and walk in shower. The master has a King bed and large walk in closet. A separate den upstairs has a Queen sleeper sofa. Downstairs has two bedrooms, one Queen room and second room with two Twins. There are smart TVs in each bedroom, living room, and den with Samsung TV and high speed internet to enjoy your favorite streaming apps. Green tea cooling memory foam mattresses and premium bedding make each room its own cozy private retreat. The bathroom downstairs has a tub/shower combo and is in the hall between the two rooms. You are welcome to use the washer and dryer located in the detached garage. The garage can also be used to store your gear during your stay, but do not park vehicles inside the garage. There is an owner’s apartment located on the far side of the detached garage. This unit is a completely separate living space and is rarely used. We will let you know if we will be occupying it during your stay. The apartment and firepit located on the far side of the property are off limits to guests. There are keypad locks on the garage and side entry door on the driveway side (just look for the Welcome sign). We have a no contact check in and your key code will be sent to you prior to check in. We have put a lot of love and thought into creating a comfortable mountain retreat and gathering place. Experience treetop living in our mountain cottage just off the highway connecting Asheville, Hendersonville and Brevard! It is the ideal Base Camp to explore the mountains, the trails as well as Asheville and the Biltmore Estate twenty minutes away. In the summer you can fly fish, mountain bike and hike in Pisgah National Forest or hear classical music at Brevard Music Center. Try the brews at Sierra Nevada Brewery or Oskar Blues. A three night minimum stay is required.This four bedroom two bath cottage is nestled in the deep woods at an elevation of 2900 feet. A well-maintained gravel road leads to the house. It sleeps eight comfortably. The main level includes a living room, kitchen, shared bathroom, two bedrooms, den and porch. The two master suites are downstairs and each features a king-sized bed. A small room at the base of the stairs could be just right to read a book or play games. The washer and dryer are located on the lower level.Enjoy your meals inside at a table seating four or dine outside at a large table on the fabulous 55 x 15 foot covered porch. Twinkle lights above the deck makes for a magical dinner party.WIFI is included along with ROKU. There is plenty of parking space for cars, bikes and gear. Feel free to use the in ground fire pit outside to roast marshmallows. Owner has a supply of firewood.Please note that a" low to the ground sports" car may have difficulty using the gravel road when driver is not experienced. Wet weather may erode the roads and make it difficult for these kind of cars. Trailers not recommended and will not assist if you have issues coming up the road.At this time, you must inquire with the Owner if working trucks are allowed on the property. You can enjoy amazing views of the mountains and valley from the entire back deck. We've got a truly luxurious hot tub that is custom-built for relaxation to aid in recovery and rest! Inside, you'll find plenty of beach towels to use for drying off. We've also stacked lightweight outdoor chairs and folding tables for your convenience that can be carried out onto the deck. Walk down from the deck and continue down the picturesque stone stairs and across the backyard into the side yard and you'll see the large stone fire pit there. There is always some stacked wood inside the shed that you are welcome to use.Although often forgotten about, the front porch is one of our favorite spots. With the view in the back, most people wouldn't think of sitting out front, but we'd recommend it! The wind passes through the trees in such a fantastic way, and this is the perfect place to enjoy it. Sit in one of four rocking Adirondack chairs or grab the hammock from the garage and set it up on the pre-hung carabiners on the trees on the island across the driveway. Please be sure to bring it back in after use to ensure it survives the elements.If you can tear yourself away from the comfort of home, there are some great spots to explore in the nearby area! You’ll be just a short drive from The Biltmore, some awesome breweries like Sierra Nevada, local restaurants, and plenty of outdoor activities like hiking, horseback riding, and even a gem mine! There are multiple WIFI 6 mesh routers placed around the house to ensure great coverage. Cell service has worked fine for those on T-mobile and Verizon.Access to the house is via a paved, private one-lane road. Please note there are no sheer or steep drop-offs on the sides of the road; it's hugged by the mountain all the way up, so for those afraid of heights, you’ve got nothing to worry about. There are parts of the road that are steep. Take your time going up and stick to around 10-15 mph; that way, if you see another car coming, one of the two of you can back into a driveway to let the other pass. Don't ever try to pull off the road into a ditch; always use driveways. Watch out for wildlife along the road, as well as the occasional fallen branch.*CLEANING*- Beyond selecting only the finest materials for furnishings and bedding, we make sure those items are sanitized and clean. Relax in the country setting which is conveniently located to natures greatest places such as Dupont Forest, Sliding Rock and Blue Ridge Parkway. If that's not your idea of fun, Biltmore Estate and downtown Asheville with unique shopping is just a short distance away. Conveniently located between Brevard, Hendersonville and Asheville. This is the place you want to be. Property is close to the airport, many variety of breweries, restaurants, grocery stores and so much more. You can even relax at home with many amenities including the hot tub, outdoor fire pit or just relax on one of the porches and listen to the water feature. We also wanted to let all of our guest know that there are outside security cameras. One is on the entrance showing the gate as well as the parking area...one is on the back which is facing the fire pit it also sheds light on the hot tub for safety when getting in and out of tub but it does NOT show the actual hot tub area...the other one is on the side facing the highway and pasture area.
