“The Cottage” is a small two story fully operational rustic house that was converted from a plantation outbuilding to a residence to accommodate the owners while Glen Mary, the “big” house, was being restored. “The Cottage” is to the rear of the “big” house within Glen Mary’s lovely gardens. The upstairs includes an eat-in kitchen and sitting room, while the bathroom and bedroom are located downstairs. At all! EVER! : ). This home includes a spacious kitchen (fully equipped), as well as dining space for 8 people. In addition, there is an outdoor grilling space attached to the main floor of this home, so get ready for some fun times. This outdoor grilling area contains a gas grill (propane is hard piped and provided) and outdoor dining space. The living room offers complete relaxation with 2 large comfortable sofas, a flat screen television, and a gas log fireplace. The master bedroom is located on the first floor and has inside access to the master bathroom. The large master bedroom has a king bed, as well as a spacious closet. The master bathroom has a double sink vanity and a tile shower. There is also a stackable washer and dryer located outside of the master bedroom in the kitchen. There are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms located on the downstairs floor, with a separate living area looking out onto the beautiful lake. The 3 bedrooms consist of 1 Queen, 1 Full, and the last room has 2 sets of bunk beds. The living area can be used as a fifth sleeping area, as it has a large sectional sofa. There are two porches, one for each floor, that provide the most amazing sunrise and sunset views. These porches have plenty of comfortable furniture for your complete relaxation. Go ahead and feel free to take that afternoon nap!Please note that this home can only sleep up to six adults as the bunks are made to hold children.This house has a concrete walkway leading you directly to the water. There is a spacious boat house and dock that's perfect for tying your boat up, fishing, and swimming! There is a swim ladder attached to the dock. This home is located on the main channel of the lake so there is plenty of deep water for any size boat. The dock also has an open area for those loving the sun, as well as a covered area for those preferring a shady spot. Get your fishing poles ready, as there is some great fishing right from the dock. There are also some water toys available for your enjoyment, which includes a tube and ski ropes, etc. There is a mini refrigerator for use on the dock. Oconee Springs Park (campground and marina) is located just across the lake (1/2 mile) for fueling your boat, purchasing bait and tackle, and grabbing snacks for your day on the water. There is a private boat ramp (only for the Holiday Shores community and is free) only a 1/4 mile away, with a private picnic area and volleyball court. The Kountry Store is just a ten minute drive from the house and you can also get some basic necessities there. The first floor is a recreation room with shuffle board table, darts, and other games. First floor includes a half bath. Second floor is a loft that has two queen size beds. The second living quarters also has a mini fridge, coffee maker, and microwave. The walkway to the second living quarters is brightly lite at night.Every room in the house has a smart tv so just bring your log in and enjoy with our fiber high speed internet. Sleeps 6-8 comfortably. Master bedroom has king bed, bedroom (2) has a queen bed and bedroom (3) has two twin extra long beds. All bedrooms have televisions. We also have a queen size air mattress available. The kitchen has all new appliances and laundry room has new washer and dryer. On the outside raised deck, facing the lake, we have a gas grill and a blackstone grill provided. We have several big pots for your fish fry , low country boil, or boiling peanuts. Down at the boathouse we installed a sink to make it easier to clean your fish after a long day on the lake. You will need to bring your own fishing equipment and bait. Also bring a few folding chairs for the dock. We can’t leave them out for you because of the wind. We provide everything else to make your stay as fun as possible. BUT, I must stress to you, please bring groceries, snacks, drinks or anything else you are planning on using with you as you check in. We are isolated from stores, really isolated. We have two spots around here and I provided pictures of both of them. Coops, about 15 miles from us, is a country store with a little bit of everything, including breakfast and lunch. We also have, Anslies, Country Store, they serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner until 7 p.m. They also have Hunt’s Pizza and Wings which is one of our favorites. Beware, prices are a little higher. The nearest Dollar General on Hwy 22, is about 30 minutes away. It’s 20 miles from our driveway to Lowes in Milledgeville but it will take you about 40 minutes to drive it. If you go by boat it takes about 15 minutes to get to Marina on Hwy 441. The nearest boat Landing is Cosby’s Landing Boat Launch, 475 Ramp Road, Sparta, GA 31087. It’s located off Carr Station Road which is en-route to our place. We feel our place is the perfect place to make wonderful memories with your family and friends!
