"The overall stay experience was very good, the location of the hotel was very convenient, the surrounding transportation was convenient, it was more convenient to travel or eat and shop. The front desk staff was very good at check-in, the communication efficiency was high, and the whole process was smooth. The room was clean and tidy as a whole, the bedding was comfortable, the sound insulation effect was better than expected, and the rest was very good at night. The bathroom is well maintained, the hot water is stable, and the toiletries are relatively complete. The public area environment of the hotel is also better, it looks relatively new, and the overall design is more textured. Although the breakfast type is not particularly large, it can basically meet the needs and taste good. During the stay, I encountered some small problems, the staff responded quickly, and the handling attitude was very positive. This made people feel better. Overall, the price is still very high, whether it is business travel or travel stay is more suitable. If you come to this city in the future, you will still consider choosing this hotel again and recommend it to friends."

La Belle Maison is a beautifully restored home in the Founders Square area of Geneva, New York. The peaceful neighborhood includes some of the oldest, most prominent and unique homes in Ontario County. The nearby Washington Street Cemetery dates back to the American Civil War era and is a history buffs dream. La Belle Maison is ideal for a weekend escape or an extended vacation where family or friends can gather and recharge in the “Heart of the Finger Lakes”. The house combines the charm, architecture and furnishings of a century old house (ie hardwood floors and custom built-ins) with modern amenities that include central air conditioning, Wi-Fi and cable TV. The refurbished kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, a gas stove and stainless steel side-by-side refrigerator with ice-maker. The exterior provides several options for entertaining or grabbing some quiet time with a book. The front porch has comfortable Adirondack chairs perfect for an end-of-day sunset with a pour of a Finger Lakes Riesling. The back deck is outfitted with a table & chairs and a gas grill custom made for a cozy picnic. Consistent with old world hospitality, amenities include luxury spa toiletries in each bath, fine linens, bathrobes and a complementary bottle of one of our favorite Finger Lakes wine upon arrival.La Belle Maison is perfectly located to explore all that Geneva and the greater Finger Lakes area has to offer. It is less than a half-mile walk along beautifully tree-lined streets to the college of Hobart and William Smith or historic South Main Street in Geneva. The downtown shops, restaurants and specialty wine stores provide opportunities to experience the local style, cuisine and world-recognized Finger Lakes wines. Breathtaking views of Seneca Lake are also only a walk away including playgrounds, picnic areas, watercraft rentals as well as lake tours. The extended Finger Lakes family of wineries, parks and historic points of interest are only a short drive away. Significant destinations of natural beauty include the Finger Lakes National Forest, Watkins Glen State Park with its awe inspiring waterfalls or the 150 acre Cornell Botanic Gardens to name a few. This region has also played a key role in our nation’s history. Points of interest include the Women’s Rights National Historic Park, The Harriet Tubman Home and the Susan B. Anthony Museum & House. However, the world recognized persona of the Finger Lakes revolves around its’ beautiful water and the terroir that produces world class wines. There are boat launches at marinas on Keuka lake, Cayuga lake and Seneca Lake; Cayuga and Seneca can access the Erie Canal. The Finger Lakes region is a four-season area providing fun and relaxation year-round. Winter activities including cross country & downhill skiing as well as snowshoeing. Summer and fall offer horseback riding, cycling, hiking, hunting and fishing. .Although this region has long been known for wonderful Rieslings and other white varietals, many wine makers are producing red wine that competes with California, Spain and old-world producers. Some of our favorite wineries are Red Tail Ridge, Kemmeter, Six Eighty Cellars, Atwater, Hermann J. Wiemer, Weis, Dr. Konstantin Frank, Trestle Thirty One, Ravines and Living Roots. Finally, the food options in this area are vast and range from hometown diners to opulent culinary experiences. Our recommendations include the Star Diner, Kindred Fare, Anorah Restaurant and Bar, Ports Cafe, FLX Table and Belhurst Castle. We look forward to welcoming you at La Belle Maison in pretty Geneva, New York. Who knows you might bring some bottles home.History of the Finger Lake region Our lakes are old, natural, and non-manmade. Native American legend explains the Finger Lakes this way: the Creator looked upon this land with special favor and reached down to bless it, leaving the imprint of His hand, hence, the Finger Lakes.Geology tells a different story. As the last ice age ended, the final glaciers covering what is now the northern reaches of the United States receded. The incredible grinding pressures of the receding glaciers gouged enormous holes in what is now the Finger Lakes region. These became not only our Finger Lakes, but also the magnificent geologic anomalies throughout the region that include our incredible gorges and numerous waterfallsGeneva NewYork history The area was long occupied by the Seneca tribe, which had established a major village of Kanadaseaga here by 1687.[7] The British helped fortify the village against the French of Canada during the Seven Years' War (locally known as the French and Indian War); later they added defensive fortifications against the Americans during the Revolutionary War. During the latter warfare, the punitive Sullivan Expedition of 1779 mounted by rebel forces destroyed many of the dwellings, as well as the winter stores of the people, and they abandoned the ruins. Following the war and the forced removal of the Seneca from their native land, European-Americans settled here about 1793. They developed a town encouraged by the Pulteney Association, which owned the land and was selling plots. At the end of the Revolutionary War, Lt. Col. Seth Reed (né Read), who had fought at Bunker Hill, was one of many pioneers who moved from Massachusetts into Ontario County. By trade with the Seneca, he bought a tract of land eighteen miles in extent. (This was illegal, as only the US government was authorized to make land deals with the Native Americans.) This occurred in 1787, while his wife Hannah stayed in Uxbridge, Massachusetts with their family.[8] "Seth Read moved his wife Hannah and their family to Geneva, Ontario County, New York in the winter of 1790".[9]The settlement at Geneva was not yet permanent; the European Americans continued to harass the Seneca on the frontier. In 1795 Read and his family removed to Erie, Pennsylvania, where they became the earliest European-American settlers.[10]The "Village of Geneva" was incorporated in 1806, formally separating it from the surrounding area of Geneva Town. Later the village became a city through a 1871 charter.[11]In the 1830s, a government surveyor named John Brink named both Geneva Lake and Lake Geneva in Wisconsin after Geneva, New York. Geneva, Nebraska, founded in 1871, is considered to have been named after the one in New York, rather than directly for the Swiss city.About pets:Pets allowed: less than 50 lbs per pet (limit one pet total). Please let us know what kind of pet you have….About checkOut:Check out before 11:00 AM.About children:Children allowed: ages 0-17.About checkIn:Check in after 3:00 PM.About smoking:Smoking allowed: in designated areas.About minBookingAge:Minimum age to rent: 25.About events:Events allowed: family gatherings, birthday parties, weddings.Maximum event attendees: 20.
