"I came up to Chicago to visit my girlfriend we rented this place so we can have a romantic end to our date night. I live in Dallas and wanted it to be a special night, the concierge was attentive and receptive to that want and gave us a room on the top floor overlooking the city. The view was amazing and I highly recommend this location for any couples looking to have a special night. It was clean and I couldn't ask for a better place to stay."

"The hotel offers good facilities like the pool, and the breakfast, even over a 4-day stay, remains enjoyable due to the variety in the offerings. Additionally, free parking is a nice perk. However, I was disappointed that the safe in my room was not functioning and wasn’t repaired during our 4-night stay. Another downside was the hotel's policy of not making the beds or changing towels during the first 3 nights. On a positive note, when I requested fresh towels, they provided them promptly."

"1. The person who checked us in was not warm and friendly. In the past we have stayed at this hotel many times and had great service. This was not the case this time. The staff who checked us in gave us average service and didn't listen very well. When we visit a hotel, it's nice to be greeted with a smile and makes it easier to travel. 2. The hot water was not available when we wanted to take a shower. The water tank on the floor that serviced our room had to be turned up in order for us to take a shower. Hot water tank temperatures should be checked routinely as a matter of business operations at a hotel. When we called to ask for help for the hot water, no one came for more than 15 minutes. So we had to call again, and explain that we needed to shower and go to bed ASAP. This was not efficient service. 3. Room supplies:  There was 3 decaff and only 1 regular coffee packets in our room. We woke up at 1:30 a.m. to get ready and noticed this problem. There was no way to get this problem fixed before we left at that hour. The cleaning staff should be more careful to put the correct things in the room. 4. The water in the room burned out eyes and skin. We've stayed at this hotel many times and never had this problem. Perhaps there is something wrong with the water now. 5. The fan on the air conditioner / heater doesn't change from low to high. It's always high and too noisy. When we asked about it, we were told that all of the units on the 3rd floor were like this. It was too difficult to sleep with the horrible noise of the high fan. 6. A unhappy start to our trip."

"When I checked in I was given a room I did not book, so I had to come back down and inform the front desk that it was not the room I booked. She said my room was not ready yet and she would let me know. I sat down in the lobby and within 2 minutes, my room was ready. That seemed odd to me telling me it wasn't ready and then all of a sudden it was. The walls are paper thin and it sounded like the people in the room next to me were in my room. I had to call down twice for a noise complaint in the middle of the night because they were waking me up throughout the night. The hotel was clean, service was friendly but there just seems to be no sound proofing in the rooms. It was frustrating."

SsknoseyThe free breakfast is not a full buffet but a choice of egg and then usually fried potato and beefburger patty or slices of sausage. the rest was tiny yoghurt and bread for toast, or make your own waffles. there is tea coffee and hot chocolate. There was cereal and porridge but sometimes it is made so thin that its not worth eating. There is no tea in the room, just coffee. The machine had a disposable tray but they ran out so I used the same one for 9 days for tea and coffee (i got teabags from the breakfast room). Housekeeping never supplied what you asked for first time, or even second. If you want something and ask at 2pm, you will get it if you chase a couple of times afterwards by 9-10pm. There was also alot of messing about with respect to check out time. I am a member of the loyalty programme which is meant to give you an automatic late checkout. The manager gave it to me but then when I went back to ask about extending it further for a fee, it was clear the other guy behind the counter was on a power trip and the day before started saying I shouldnt have got it and as it was the manager, he wouldnt withdraw it but he could and I should only get an hour and be charged $25/hr after that etc. He was just a mean spiteful man who saw an opportunity to cause worry and distress and he did it. I had luggage to store and it was a late flight so I had to know whether to pack to store it to check out at midday, or 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 (they were messing me about with all times) but this is why I gave a 1 star for service. It is not at all professional but childish and spiteful. I had arranged the extended checkout days before and the day before they were messing me about when I had to pack and had a schedule of things to do? The worst service in any hotel I have ever been in. Hilton is no longer a 5 star experience it seems. 1 star for service.

GGuest UserWe recently stayed at the Holiday Inn O'Hare Area and had a fantastic experience! From check-in to check-out, everything went smoothly. The front desk staff were friendly, professional, and went out of their way to ensure my stay was comfortable. The room was clean, modern, and well-equipped with everything I needed. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I appreciated the quiet atmosphere—perfect for getting a good night's rest before my flight. The hotel also has a well-maintained fitness center, which was an added bonus.Overall, the value for money at this Holiday Inn is excellent. TTerence CaoBe careful, there is a hidden charge ”A $25 daily urban experience fee will be charged to each room” at this hotel Fairmont Chicago - Millennium Park. The breakfast charge is very tricky if you have prepaid. 1st you have to argue that you have prepaid for the breakfast for each person in the room. 2nd you need to ask and confirm with the front desk how much the credit is for the breakfast you have paid (my case $38 for each person daily, covers taxes and tips). It is not buffet breakfast, you need to pay extra when you check out if you have ordered more than your credit for the breakfast. When I asked that if I missed one breakfast, can I use the extra credit for the next day. The answers were different from different staff members. A very expensive hotel focusing on big conferences, there are no microwave oven, empty refrigerator (you can request) in the room and swimming pool. Do not lift up the drinks and snacks in the box on the table (there are sensors underneath) unless you don't mind to be charged. The existing refrigerator is full of drinks. I was afraid to touch it, even the concierge didn't know how to open the refrigerator lock. But the coffee and tea are free. There is a person (not housekeeper) comes to the room to check and refill all the drinks and snacks including the free ones. We booked our room many weeks earlier, after we checked in I realized that the room prices dropped comparing our original prices, maybe not enough conference people attending. Hope the information is helpful for you.

RRommel919lobby is on the 2nd floor, check in was a breeze, no need to see the passport .. just gave me the key and we were set to go we stayed for 4 nights, but there was no Cleaning done.. i have to request for an extra towel since we are 4 in a room and they only provided for 2. we run out of body soap in the next day and had to pick it up in the lobby , and no one came to install it .. so we just put it in the corner.. not on the wall location was good, easy to get into public transport , if not too sensitive its a walking distance to the magnificent mile.. gym was Ok , laundry service is 3$ each cycle.. and you need to install an app to pay... and you can't load exact amount so if you are going to do a single laundry just use the credit card you pay 3.25 though, but you only pay for what you use.. apple pay or tap to pay not working.. so bring your CC with you, another thing, if you use the app, it will let you know if the laundry is done.. but some people still don't come down to remove their clothes to need to ask the lobby to take it out and put in the rack provided breakfast was nothing special., if you wake up late many people already and hard to find a table, and the refill is not too fast.. only a handful of variety for the food. coffee and tea are available the whole day as long as its not yet depleted..

GGuest UserI was in Schaumburg for a 2 Day conference and chose to stay at a more cost effective location since I was traveling alone and really just needed a decent place to stay. Upon arrival, I was greeted and given my key cards. I drove towards the side door as it was closer to the elevator. Not the hotels fault I guess, but people were smoking in areas I know weren’t designated for smoking. The 2nd floor ***** of ***. I am grateful it wasn’t coming from my room, however: the assigned room did not smell clean at all. I did bring cleaning sprays from home just in case, the room wasn’t clean. I had to wipe the counters , desk and sink top off. They were dirty and sticky to the touch. I was going to ask for staff to come up and check the room but decided not to do that. The next morning I went to the front desk to ask that Housekeeping not clean until I left. Front desk staff was on the cellular device and I had to get his attention. He was nice and courteous but told me that rooms were cleaned once per week. Guess that’s why my assigned room smells the way. While I am an avid dog lover, the dogs coming out the exit when I tried to enter were huge. This gentleman had two and could hardly control them. Nevertheless, you get what you pay for so I can’t be too upset. I just don’t recall this chain being so lax about the amenities, staff professionalism-and cleanliness.

GGuest UserMy Honest Experience After Reading Negative Reviews I was initially quite hesitant to check into this hotel after reading a number of detailed and lengthy negative reviews, especially those highlighting hidden fees and cleanliness issues. However, upon arrival with my partner, I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel was clean and well-decorated, with a modern and cohesive style. Our check-in process was fast and efficient, and the receptionist was friendly and happy to answer all of our questions—especially about the fees mentioned on the hotel’s website. One of the main issues people seem to bring up is the so-called “hidden” fees. In my experience, these fees are not actually hidden—they’re listed on the hotel’s official website. That said, they could definitely be communicated more clearly. It’s important to read the fine print when booking and during check-in. While the fees may not be obvious at first glance, the hotel is legally allowed to include them since they are technically disclosed. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with enough space to hang clothes. There were multiple hangers, and the locker-style closets matched the hotel’s sporty decor. The floor and bathroom were clean overall, though I did spot a spider in the corner of the shower—but nothing alarming. The downstairs common area includes an open kitchen with a communal fridge and even a crockpot, which was a nice surprise. There were also several games available, like ping pong and air hockey, which makes this place family- and couple-friendly. Guests are allowed to enjoy drinks provided in the kitchen. If you’re sensitive to noise, particularly trains, I recommend requesting a room farther down the hall on the first floor. Our room was in a quiet spot—I barely noticed the train, and when I did, it was more like soft white noise. Still, bringing earplugs might help if you’re a light sleeper. Overall, I recommend this hotel. It’s in a nice area, the decor is visually appealing, and the stay was enjoyable. Just be aware of a $120 refundable deposit (if no damage is done to the room) and an additional $50 guest fee. Knowing that ahead of time helps avoid surprises. I’m very grateful for the pleasant stay and would return again.
