Sheraton Okinawa Sunmarina Resort is one of the best hotel and experience I had. The location is great which easy access to both north and south part of the island. Facilities are the best, especially the water activities. We tried almost all marine activities and all are great. Staff are wonderful and really helpful. They helped me from the day I book the hotel, marine activities arrangements, room service, and front desk. We definitely will come back to meet the great staff and hotel.

I booked the hotel from 23-26/4/2025, itâs better for the one who drive their car to come as itâs quite far! Other things to pay attention to is the check in time until 20:00 and I didnât aware! I check in late at around 20:20, thanks for the staff to wait me there, prepare things well and she is very helpful and her English very well!Â
The hotel is very new and clean, and I love the hot spring. Thereâs many parking spaces. It provides breakfast at the reception and itâs not bad! It also near the Kin beach, if thereâs diving facilities and swimming will be much better for family who have kids! By the way, the view so great!

We went during off peak season so the outdoor pool facilities were not open. Nonetheless we had a really nice time at the hotel, my daughters really enjoyed the beach and the art&craft activities. Breakfast options were great too. We def want to return again in summer to experience it in full!
Lots of dining options within walking distance from the hotel as well. Thereâs also a nice playground 2 min drive away. Very good base for the mid/ north part of Okinawa travel.

Because of the good reviews, we chose this northernmost hotel in Okinawa, even though it was December, and arrived while enjoying a drive.
However, perhaps due to a system error, the reservation details made through Trip.com did not include use of the club lounge, and there was no valet service, so we had to go to and from a distant parking lot in the cold.
It had nothing to do with us as guests, but the front desk staff in charge seemed dissatisfied with the matter after checking, and the only thing they did was a businesslike exchange without any hospitality, which was lonely. Also, perhaps by coincidence, another person who was driving the guest cart back and forth in the rain was driving recklessly, and my husband and I exchanged glances.
(The cart staff are usually considerate and kind.)
As a result, the club lounge and the location, food and drinks at the morning meal that we used were wonderful, and although the entire facility is certainly old, it was a nice hotel that felt clean and polite in every way, so it was a shame.
The next day, we checked out in very warm, fine weather.

The hotel is located on Kouri Island, with a very nice view of Kouri Bridge.
The room is large and equipped with cooking utensils. It can accommodate many people.
The cleaning time was very random and did not follow the schedule, and the hotel staff came into the room to clean without prior notice. I was a bit dissatisfied.
Since I had notified the hotel through Trip.com before departure that I would arrive very late, but when I arrived, I found that the front desk was closed, and there was no prior notice from Trip.com or the hotel about the key collection arrangements, which made my group very panic. Fortunately, I found Trip.com customer service to find the password. Thank you to the customer service and compensation for helping me handle it that day.

This is a beautiful resort hotel. I like the room, the service, the breakfast and the hotel surroundings.
Staff at the front desk are so warm and helpful. When we notify them there's a problem with the bathroom door, the repairman is there within 5 minutes to fix it.
The breakfast buffet has such a large spread, Okinawan, western, Japanese and the English tea is of very high quality.
The hotel is only a short distance to Cape Manzamo and Cape Zanpa and also not a long drive to Churaumi Aquarium, so the location is quite convenient if you want to visit these places. There's a big parking lot within walking distance for the hotel guests.
I wish that I can return to this hotel some time in the future.

Very Good
GGuest UserThe hotel decoration is a little old, but it is very clean and gives people a very comfortable feeling! The public facilities are comparable to 5 stars, and the restaurant, swimming pool, beach, and rest area are all great; the hotel has a particularly strong natural atmosphere, and the dense vegetation is the result of years of maintenance; there are two indoor and outdoor swimming pools in the hotel, and the white sand beach has fine sand. The only âregretâ is that it has been calm and there are no waves these days. It is worth mentioning that the breakfast included in the hotel can be replaced with a buffet lunch, and snow crabs can be eaten to your heart's content. Children under 5 years old are free, and you can directly use the âmeal ticketâ to eat in the morning or at noon. In terms of transportation, the airport's LIM-C or LIM-CD can reach the hotel entrance, which is convenient for back and forth, and you need to buy a ticket. As for the shortcomings mentioned in some reviews, such as the curtains not blocking light, low water pressure, etc., the problems do exist but are acceptable. I wake up naturally at 8 am Japan time and 7 am Beijing time every day. The only thing worth noting is that the air conditioning in the room is very cold, and those who are afraid of cold need to pay attention. One of the very good experiences so far is worth writing so many words!
JJoyThe location and facilities inside the room are nice, however, the customer service is not ideal. It is normally assumed that after booking a hotel online with a booking confirmation, all necessary information is already on the confirmation letter. However, travelers who stay at this property will still have to actively reach out to the hotel for check-in ID in order to do self-check-in via iPad. It would be great if the hotel could reach out to the traveler before their check-in.
What's even worse is that during the check-in process, we did a face-to-face meeting via iPad, and there was no information provided by the staff that we would need a password to enter the hotel after certain hours. After dinner outside, when we returned to the hotel, we were locked outside the hotel, and luckily, we were able to call the Japanese phone number via the public phone. It would have been a nightmare if there had been no public phone or if no one from the hotel had picked up the phone.
GGuest UserI drove to the hotel, although the location is inconspicuous, but the environment is very good, the hall can look at the sunset and endless sea views. There are cooking facilities, if you are traveling by car there is a large supermarket nearby where you can buy something to cook yourself, and the distance to Nago is not far, there are enough restaurants in the area to choose from. Overall experience is good, but it is recommended not to choose to come during hurricane season, otherwise there will be ** annoying.
GGuest UserWe brought our 3+ years old boy on a 2 night stay during golden week (May 2024) and opted in for a dinner buffet on the first night. It was 2200 yen per adult n foc for my boy. The spread was limited but worth all its penny as the beef was so tender and juicy so i feasted on it. All other dishes were also very good.
The private beach was convenient and the water was so clear it looked like mineral water. There was a 50% discount voucher you can get from the hotel reception for the banana boat ride at the private beach and our boy enjoyed this and another ride. The young instructor who pulled us out on a jet ski for our water rides was friendly and went at a good speed for our 3 year old who was doing the water actitivties for the first time without us having to tell him to do so. He even went to the coral reefs and picked up a starfish n a sea cucumber to show our boy before returning it back to the sea. The water activites was affordable with the discount, price similar to Msia/Thailand/Indonesia resorts i have been to.
I was apprehensive booking this resort after reading the reviews on the state of the hotel showing signs of aging. However, the place was well maintained. There was an unpleasant smell when i opened the door to our room but its actually just the tatami which needed some airing. After opening the windows to let in the natural breeze, all was good. Cleaniness for toilet was good too; just need to figure out the temp control for the shower. The onsite onsen was clean and easily accessible at the basement, and wld have cost us at least 1200yen for a visit to a public onsite iin naha.
Totally recommend this resort for a fam outing with young children. I understand they have barrier free access rooms on the first floor of the resort so there were some families with elderly too.
GGuest UserThe white cottages are lined up in a place that is easily visible from the road, so you can arrive without getting lost. Check-in was thorough, so it took a long time, and I got bitten by a lot of mosquitoes, but I was warmed by the human touch.
The building I stayed in was in the style of an American house from the Showa era. There was a dining table, couch, and chairs, and the ceilings were high and comfortable. The electrical appliances seemed to be a mix of nostalgic and newer items. There were not many places to plug in electrical outlets. Is this because of the place's aging? The bathroom window wouldn't open, and the lock seemed broken, so as a sensitive city dweller, I was worried about security (it was fine, of course). It was a comfortable stay.
TTan bc sporeWe love Maihana wellness resort especially the onsen in the resort. After a day out the onsen make us recharge and refresh. Clean and cozy stay 30/1/24-2/2/24. Free parking available and there are many places to eat around the resort. The room are spacious and have partial seaview .We will be back here if we are in okinawa again
MMich.CResort was fully equipped with many facilities though several comes at an additional cost. Room is spacious with a balcony and offers a great ocean view. Only downside is side is limited food options in the area in the evening so most opt to dine in the hotelâs restaurant.
GGuest UserFirst of all, there is too little public transportation in northern Okinawa. If you are not renting a car, it is strongly not recommended to stay here. We were careless and didn't pay attention to the expiry of our international driver's license, so we found out at the last minute that we couldn't rent a car, but the hotel couldn't be changed, so we had to bite the bullet and go. The journey was too hard. It took us three hours to take the bus from Naha Airport to Nakijin. It was impossible to call Uber at the castle ruins. Fortunately, someone helped us call a taxi. Yes, it is basically impossible to call Uber in northern Okinawa.
Staying in a campervan was indeed a fun experience and the kids found it very new. The bathing area in the campervan is very narrow, but they have a public bathroom and sauna, which is very good. Unfortunately, it is not open 24 hours a day, so you have to go at the right time. The swimming pool is relatively small and the beach is beautiful but there are no lifeguards, so be careful when entering the water.
The breakfast portion was small and not enough, the coffee was terrible. The biggest problem is that there is no dinner in the restaurant. It should be said that for dinner, there is only BBQ, and you must make a reservation in advance, and you have to cook it yourself. Or you can buy something outside and rent their BBQ stove, but when we arrived on the first day , there was absolutely nothing to eat. Since we didnât have a car, we were quite helpless at that moment. Later, we saw on Google Maps a barbecue restaurant that could be reached in about 10 minutes' walk, so we went there. It was very difficult to find the small restaurant. It felt like it was a hut in the forest, but there were still many customers, so I didn't comment on whether it was delicious or not. , I was very grateful to have something to eat at that moment.
However, in the suburbs, there are many stars at night, which is very beautiful. It's not far from Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium and Motobu Genki Village.
TTezpezMy boyfriend and I recently stayed at the Ocean Resort PMC. The location is convenient if you have diving plans, with the diving drop-off point right next to the hotel. There's also a surf and diving shop and school below where you can ask about lessons and equipment. Although we had already booked our diving elsewhere, it was just an 8-minute drive away, and they even drove us back to the hotel, which was a bit amusing.
Overall, the stay was fair, but there are a few things to note. After 11 AM, the elevator is not available, and the parking lot is about a 10-minute walk from the hotel. However, there's a 24/7 convenience store just across the street, which is very handy. The ground floor has a washing machine that all guests can use. After 11 PM, you have to use the stairs, which can be a bit scary as there's no light. The hotel has a kitchen, but it lacks basic utensils.
For the price, I felt like I could have picked somewhere better, but the location and amenities were decent enough for our needs.
LLeno Chen1This hotel is very good, the location is good, the price is not expensive, it is super worth it, the breakfast is also very rich, the bathroom is separated, and there is a disinfection system. The family stayed for two nights and everyone was very satisfied.
