Guest UserAmazing experience as always with the Fufu brand. We stayed at the Hakone one previously and thought it was one of the best hotel experiences we've ever had.
Our trip to Karuizawa this time was driven by our intent to try Fufu Kyukaruizawa, and it did not disappoint one bit. From the zen interior to the most attentive and friendly staff to the never-ending dining experiences (yes, even for breakfast it was a multi course menu), we were utterly blown away by our two-night stay. The fireplace in the lobby and in our room was such a pleasant touch even though we stayed during May, our teppanyaki chef personally seeing us out to the lift and bowing until we were out of sight shows how they go above and beyond, and we really appreciated how at each interaction the staff knew and clarified our coming arrangements, ensuring our entire stay was a seamless experience.
Fufu remains our favourite Japanese hotel brand. Just wish they had a loyalty program as we are looking to check off all the Fufu hotels in our lifetime.

薯蛋頭夫人The hotel is located in the old Ginza Center. A taxi ride to the hotel at night cost us about 1100 yen.
The lobby is on the second floor, with restaurants and shops on the first floor.
We arrived at night and took the elevator to the second floor to check-in.
The staff were all very enthusiastic. When we asked for dinner recommendations, they eagerly suggested places and even offered us hotel discount coupons.
The lobby's decor perfectly matched the charming cabin style, creating a very comfortable ambiance.
The cabin-style room decor was beautiful and cozy. It felt very spacious; we could open two 28-inch suitcases on the floor without any issues getting around.
The room had a shower, no bathtub.
We stayed in D6, and the view outside the window was lovely. It wasn't too close to neighbors and there wasn't much disturbance.
We tried the hotel's Japanese breakfast one day, priced at 2200 yen per person. It was very exquisite and delicious.
Opposite the hotel is the red-roofed St. Paul's Catholic Church.
If you want to go to the Prince Hotel Outlet, it's about a 30-minute walk or a 7-10 minute taxi ride.
Staying at this hotel is more convenient if you're self-driving or using taxis, which is what we did for transportation. A taxi ride to the Christmas illumination event next to Hoshino Resorts cost about 3500 yen.

mtQBringing the dog to stay together, very satisfied in all aspects. The hotel is about a 15-minute walk from Karuizawa Station, and there is a free shuttle service, which is very considerate. The hotel facilities are very clean. Although it is a pet hotel, the rooms and public areas do not have any unpleasant smell. Both indoor and outdoor are equipped with a dog run and a dog salon where you can take photos. It was fun to communicate and play with other dogs in the public area. During the stay, you can also soak in the hot springs, and adults can also relax and enjoy. In short, it was a very satisfying experience. Next time I go to Karuizawa, I still want to take the dog!

Hugo C 168This was a really lovely trip. The staff here provided excellent service. As soon as the car pulled up at the hotel entrance, someone came right away to help with our luggage.
We stayed for two nights and three days, and had breakfast twice — one Western-style and one Japanese-style. Both were delicious, though I personally preferred the Western breakfast.
The public bath was also great. It was never crowded, which made the experience all the more enjoyable. Our room was spotlessly clean and well-kept. Compared with hotels in Hong Kong, this place offers really good value for money.
That said, there was one slight downside. I found out the hotel was built over thirty years ago and only renovated a few years back. The rooms and in-room facilities still feel quite modern, but the corridors and lobby clearly show the building’s age and have barely been updated. You can definitely sense a hint of old charm here.
Overall, it was a wonderful stay.

This hotel is a quiet, tastefully decorated old villa. We stayed here and took the hotel's shuttle for skiing and shopping in the mornings. The arrangements were very well-organized. In the evenings, the hotel even gave marshmallows to the kids to roast over the fireplace. It's perfect for families.

Had a great time at this resort hotel! Rooms are spacious and beds are comfortable! Had a great experience with all the ground staff. Breakfast, Lounge access staff were all excellent! Special thanks to Miyata, the lady in short hair with black jacket and trousers. They were lovely and super helpful and friendly.

加納信子Everything was incredibly clean, the food was delicious, and all the necessary services were provided – I was completely satisfied! After enjoying scones and tea as a welcome treat, I rented an electric bicycle and explored Old Karuizawa. I drove from Tokyo to the hotel, but the roads were crowded everywhere because it was Golden Week, so being able to rent a bicycle there was a real lifesaver. Dinner was British-style cuisine, and the staff's service was wonderful; I had a fantastic time. Throughout my stay, from beginning to end, I received incredibly warm service that truly showed their hospitality. Considering it was the middle of Golden Week, and with this location and service, I was amazed at the price! This is a hotel I would definitely want to return to.

Guest UserWe spent 2 nights in Prince after first 2 nights in Kusatsu onsen town. The hotel looked underwhelming on arrival and the front office service was efficient but cursory compared to the warm hospitality we had in the ryokan stay. It was low season and hotel was very quiet and had a ”cold” atmosphere.
I was further disappointed when we were shown our room which was on the lowest floor with a simple garden view. On requesting the check-in staff for a change of room on higher floor and a more scenic view, I was told there is an upgrade charge, which I accepted. The new room was the same size and configuration but on a higher floor with a nice view of Mt Asama. While I was happy to pay the fee, I can't help but compare their practice with all the hotels that I have stayed in all these years, where room changes were complimentary so long as the room type remains the same. Nevertheless, the hotel's facilities delighted me immensely and I enjoyed the overall experience.
The highlight of the hotel stay was the fantastic view of Asama in a high ceiling dining room with full glass window. We were able to have different table seatings for both morning breakfast as the hotel occupancy was low, which gave us different perspectives of the scenery.
The other highlight of the hotel is the onsen facility which is located in a separate building on higher ground, accessible via a self service automated tram. Aside from Asama view in the outdoor onsens, there is a common lounge which has equally awesome view of Asama. We enjoyed our time soaking in onsen and resting in the lounge.

I would go back to Prince Asama and experience the scenery during a different season!

Recommend one night and two meals. You can choose Japanese and Western breakfast. I choose one a day. French dinner🤩, hahahaha, the service can feed me.
Hygiene: clean and comfortable, the room is large.
Service: Whether it is the front desk, the station or the ski resort shuttle bus🚌, it is available at any time✅
Environment: ٩(๑^o^๑)۶ It is so beautiful. It is very close to the station. It would be perfect if there is a hot spring. Walk to take the bus and go to the Stone Church and Yuntang Pool.
Facilities: You can rent ski equipment at the hotel. It is also okay to return it later. You can put it in the drying room by yourself.

Guest UserIt is a 2-floor hotel with hot spring for the guests to enjoy. Though the staff speak little English, but they try their best to communicate. I enjoy most the food they offer. The package includes breakfast and dinner. To my surprise, the dinner is a 5-course french cuisine with coffee at the end. The quality is high not only the food but service. The breakfast is mixed with French and Japanese style. Main course is french and served, and the Japanese food and drink is in buffet style.
I learnt that some people may find the location is not very convenient. However, the hotel provides shuttle bus service to and from the train station. Kindly make reservation in advance and the transport is well managed. If you love a relaxing and quiet holiday in Karuiazawa, this hotel is a good choice.
