"Disappointing. I’ve stayed at the Kimaya a few times before, and it’s not as good as it was. The best thing about the hotel is the friendly car park staff. The rooms are dated, the bed not particularly comfortable, the bathroom badly laid out, small, smelly, and veritably not spotlessly clean. I don’t blame the cleaners - how do you clean a bath when you have no access to it?
The reception staff are superficially friendly and efficient enough. Our biggest gripe was that the hotel refuses to take food delivery, which must be left outside by the gate. And they won’t tell you that it’s arrived. It’s a strange policy, especially considering the room service menu is not that great.
Breakfast is ok, again, not as good as it was.
As a regular visitor to Jogja, I hoped that the Kimaya would be my regular hotel for many years. Sadly, I don’t think I’ll be back."
