Hidden deep in the mountains, there are only endless, winding ranges and long, flowing waterways.
Here, there is nothing but boredom — and nothing else.
The house was designed and built by myself shortly after I graduated in 2016.
It marked the beginning of my architectural journey.
Admittedly, it carries many imperfections, but I love it deeply.
In 2018, I also designed the neighboring house for my uncle.
Looking back, I have always believed those years were the most real and profound period of my life — youth well spent.
As the house was originally built for personal living, some of the rooms do not have private bathrooms.
After it was later adapted into a guesthouse, we gradually added various facilities to enrich the atmosphere,
including a projector, large-screen TVs for casting and movie watching, a meeting table, and outdoor equipment
such as camping gear, bonfires, and barbecue facilities.
In the summer of 2019, I gradually brought home a number of books, most of them bought by weight.
One day, a guest told me:
“Reading requires patience and solitude.
Books that are bought but never read are like distant stars — countless, yet unreachable.”
And so, for me, these books have truly become those distant stars.
You can rest assured about cleanliness.
All bedding and consumables are changed after every guest.
The surroundings are quiet, the air is fresh.
There is only the murmur of the stream,
the soft rustling of trees stirred by the wind,
and the joyful calls of birds in the early morning —
as if nothing else exists.
I believe you will sleep well at Magpie Homestay.
Looking back, I still clearly remember the emotion I felt when I first started this guesthouse in 2018.
At that time, I was shy and reserved,
instinctively keeping a distance from most guests,
yet at the same time deeply curious about them,
with an unspoken desire to connect.
Occasionally, when I met someone I could truly talk with,
we would find ourselves chatting late into the night without noticing the time.
We shared travels, films, and reflections on life,
and spoke freely about the future.
Everyone seemed so optimistic,
each carrying hope for tomorrow.
Time passes quickly.
It feels as though everything suddenly faded away.
To be honest, business has been difficult in recent years,
and as we grow older,
it becomes harder to easily hold onto that simple, pure sense of joy and fulfillment.
So here, I wish you eternal youth.
Thank you for staying with us.
And if anything was imperfect during your stay, I hope you can understand.

— Magpie Homestay.
"Magpie B&B is located in Linxiang Zhanqiao Town, about 10 minutes drive from the town. The open grass in front of the courtyard is full of greenery. At night, you can watch the stars on the grass, grill and barbecue. You can breathe fresh air when you open the window in the morning. People are refreshed. The internal functional areas of the homestay are clearly divided, with comfortable public areas for guests to exchange and relax. The private rooms also ensure quiet and relaxing. It feels convenient and comfortable to live. The young boss is a handsome guy, and his hospitality has left a deep impression on us. From the careful guidance before check-in, to the warm smile and sincere greetings when we meet, we feel like we are back at a friend's house. Introduce us to the nearby play route, afraid that we will go the wrong way and ride a bicycle to accompany us. Not only did we recommend delicious and cheap restaurants, but also took the children to catch fish and pick up pine balls. The heartfelt hospitality makes people feel warm. This homestay has brought us a wonderful experience that exceeded expectations, and I will definitely choose to stay here again next time I have the opportunity!"
