About this spaceThe Sanctuary Overlook Cabin has everything you need for a peaceful stay in the Catskills. The cabin is situated on 7 private acres, w/ access to a magical private stream & adjacent to 1000s of acres of trails leading to beautiful waterfalls. The porch is the perfect place to watch nature in the field below or fruit orchard. A great escape to spend time w/ friends & family .... and is across the road from the Frederick Goat Sanctuary, where you can spend time with their herd of rescued goats!The spaceWhen you drive onto the property you will notice a fruit orchard in front of you and the house is on your left. There are motion lights if you come in at night to help guide you to the entrance of the house. There is a covered porch to enjoy, as well as a patio that overlooks a front yard lush with flora and fauna. You are guaranteed to see a variety of wildlife such as deer, rabbits, chipmunks, hawks, eagles, owls, woodpeckers and the occasional bear. Don't get me started on the birds! It is a peaceful place surrounded by beauty.Upon entering the house, you are welcomed by a cozy and charming living room with exceptionally high ceilings. There is a wood burning stove for winter nights and it is well lit by natural light. On this floor in the back of the house there are two bedrooms; one has a full sized bed and the second bedroom has a queen size canopy bed, large closet and is attached to the full bath.There is a fully serviced kitchen on the main floor, which is a wonderful space to gather. Your friends and family can sit around a central island that seats four for cooking together, chatting and sharing appetizers. There is also a large table where you can sit down for a meal and enjoy a view of the beautiful field below. Often, you will be greeted by deer in the early mornings and at dusk.The upstairs has a large and comfortable master suite with a queen sized bed, lovely views and a full bath. There is a bonus room in the loft area with twin beds and comfy reading/game spot that is perfect for kids. It also functions as a workspace, which is flooded with natural light and a view of the downstairs living space below. There is high speed internet and a desk if you need to check into work.The basement has been transformed into a game room with full sized ping pong table, air hockey table, darts, foosball and more for rainy days. There is also a playground just down the driveway that guests are free to use with younger kids. We also have sleds, KanJam, croquet, soccer balls, frisbees, games, puzzles, books - everything you need for both rainy and sunny days!If you are a fellow animal lover, the Cabin is part of the Frederick Goat Sanctuary. We have 29 (and counting) rescue goats (we'd love to tell you their stories - so please ask!) as well as chickens (also rescues). We would love to have you meet them, hang out, and give them treats if you'd like (treats are provided ;).Weather and schedule permitting, join the owners for an evening "Goat Happy Hour" where guests can BYOB and join us to relax in hammocks and chairs surrounded by goats to chat about your day and get recommendations for things to do in the area!If you'd like to join us for our more formal experiences such as "Hugs and Hike", the "Adventure Hiker" or "Art with Heart" reservations are required in advance, unless you are flexible and can join us the day of when there are open spots!If you wouldn't like to (it's OK - we get it. Goats aren't for everyone) they are across the road and very quiet, so they will not affect your stay.We have a long list of local hikes, restaurants, experiences and attractions in a comprehensive guest binder at the cabin and happy to share our local spots!We really love being hosts - we hope you'll come stay with us!Guest accessGuests have parking right by house The large driveway can fit several cars. Guests have full use of the cabin and adjacent property. We welcome you to stroll around the property and explore!Guests are free to come visit the goats of Frederick Farm for some scratches, photos and to feed them some treats (grain will be provided). We do ask that guests not enter the animal enclosures unless accompanied by one of the owners - so just reach out not us and let us know if you'd like to come down to meet them up close! We are more than happy to do so if we are available!Other things to noteAccess to come visit the goats is unlimited but to be in the goats enclosure for some scratches and snuggles requires advance notice. Surrounded by endless hiking trails, waterfalls, swimming holes, picturesque towns, farms, wineries & breweries you won't be short of things to do. Enjoy a BBQ on the overhang deck, fire up the firepit under the stars, kick back in the home cinema & games room (for both adults and kids), or relax in the hot tub to finish the day - perfect escape to get away from it all!The spaceThis must be the place !Perched at the top of a hill, our cabin is set over 3 floors, meaning there is plenty of space for every one.Enjoy morning coffee at the breakfast bar, and dinners in the open plan kitchen/dining/living area. Bright and Spacious with huge typical A- Frame windows letting in natural light all day long.Spend the day visiting the local towns (Ellenville, Stone Ridge, Kerhonkson, Accord, Mountaindale and Livingston Manor all less than 30 mins away), get outdoors and go hiking , skiing, biking, or even hang gliding.There are numerous farms and farm stands to buy some delicious local produce as well as wineries, cideries, breweries for tastings and live music/entertainment.In the winter, ski resorts such as Hunter and Wyndham Mountain are also a short drive away for a day on the slopes.Spend the evening relaxing outdoors by the fire pit or in the hot tub while looking up a the mountain stars or head inside and get cosy next to the stove with a hot chocolate!The basement is the fun part!! Perfect for a games evening playing pool, darts, board games or watch your favourite movie in the snuggly cinema area with surround sound and popcorn.The large master bedroom is set as a loft-style room, there is a separate door leading to a small private balcony looking out into the back garden, a reading nook with bookcase full of our favorite reads and even a doggy den, a cosy spot for your furry friend to spend the night.The large, kingsize bed is fitted with a Casper hybrid mattress for maximum comfort and the ultimate sleep!On the main floor there are 2 other bedrooms both with cosy queen beds and large closets for storage. One bedroom has a four poster bed and the other has a desk to accommodate any remote workers.Downstairs there is a half bath with toilet/sink as well as a washer and dryer for your laundry needs. Street parking is free and plentiful.Other things to noteThis is mountain life…with that comes the wildlife , please be mindful and drive carefully as deer are always on the roads.The cabin is located at the top of a hill, during the winter and in snowy conditions a 4x4 or snow chains is needed as it can get very slippery !There is no A/C during the summer months , we have always got on fine without as temperature drops down at night time. There is a ceiling fan in the main space and plug in fans provided in the bedrooms. Beauitful 35 Acre property with an abundance of wildlife sitting atop a mountain. Property includes brand new (built in 2015) log cabin with 4 bedrooms, amazing "great room", large open area kitchen, 2 sided fireplace (faces inside and outside) and large back deck facing woods and large backyard. House is perfect for evening grilling and sitting around the campfire (fire pit in backyard). House has all the modern amenities from wireless internet, stainless steel appliances (large refrigerator with ice maker), microwave, walk in pantry, island in kitchen, gas grill on back porch, flat screen TV's in each room with DirecTV. Full washer / dryer in basement and modern HVAC system with central air conditioning and heating. No need to bring utensils or plates & glasses as house is fully stocked with everything you need (except the food). Master bathroom has shower and jacuzzi bath tub, guest bathroom has shower / tub and has towels, washcloths, soap, etc.There is a beautiful covered car port in the front of the house such that you can avoid the elements (rain, snow) when you pull up the the U shaped driveway. Visits here are the definition of tranquility, as you will hear no cars at night, watch the deer in the morning or evening and have comfortable nights sleep.Cabin is roughly 15 minutes from the closest town where you can stock up on food for your visit. Cabin is 90 minutes from NYC (without traffic) and easy to get to for a weekend getaway. This newly renovated cabin is located on over an acre of land surrounded by woods and overlooking a babbling stream. Woodmoor House, a beautifully appointed farmhouse from 1865 in the Historic District of the hamlet of Cragsmoor, sits atop a bluff nearly 2000 feet above sea level with stunning views of Hudson Valley, just minutes from Sam’s Point Preserve on Shawangunk Ridge and nature trails. A short trip from NYC, you will find plenty of activities for outdoor enthusiasts: hiking, biking, cross country skiing, rock climbing, golf and swimming holes. And for those who prefer indoor activity: a haven for thrifting and antiquing.This sprawling house has been renovated to include the beauty and charm of its original design of open family living, and is ready to accommodate big groups to settle in and relax. Have your coffee in the morning sun on the southern patio, then take a stroll through the gorgeous Cragsmoor Historic District to admire all the beautiful homes that make this mountaintop hamlet so unique.Sitting on a bit over an acre, the house has six bedrooms; five with queen beds and one with bunk beds each with a mountain or meadow view. Four of the bedrooms are on the second floor and one is on the ground floor that may accommodate those who cannot negotiate stairs. The finished attic has a large common area with two single beds and a full bedroom with a queen bed and ensuite powder room. The large master suite has a deck overlooking the mountains. A large, farmhouse-style-yet-modern kitchen has a bay window with mountain ridge views,  keeping it bright and light-filled.  The kitchen counter, complete with stools, and large sectional offer sitting space for family and guests to keep company while sipping coffee over breakfast, as well as a large, round, eat-in kitchen table. The kitchen is totally stocked with everything you’ll need for preparing large family meals including Instant Pot, Kitchen Aid stand mixer, hand mixer, salad spinner, pancake griddle, panini/waffle maker, food processor, cookie sheets, pie pans, slicers, dicers, etc. plus oils, spices, sugar, flour, etc.  The dining room has a 9-foot table that can accommodate 12 seated guests, with a view of the meadow, and candle-lit chandeliers. The large living room with its cozy seating,  includes a wood-burning fireplace and a large projection TV to enjoy a movie or your latest Netflix binge.Outside is a Weber gas grill and an 8-foot picnic table with umbrella for outdoor dining along with Adirondack chairs, plenty of folding lawn chairs and a fire pit. There are three electric bicycles available for guests' use. Helmets and instructions are provided but guests use these bicycles at their own risk. The summer nights can be quite cool on the mountain so bring warm clothing.Dogs are welcome. 💜NOTE: Bunk beds have safety bars that should always be used for anyone sleeping on the top bunk.
