"We had an amazing stay at Charlie’s. The staff were lovely, always saying hello and happy to help with anything. We booked a room with pool access, it was spacious and also had a big bathroom. The bar and restaurant both had a great selection and the welcome drink upon arrival was a lovely touch! One of the best features of this hotel is its proximity to Lio Beach, only a 5 minute ride away, where there are an array of bars and restaurants and a beautiful sunset every night. My partner is dairy and gluten intolerant and there were plenty of options for her there which was pretty rare in general for the Philippines.
Would recommend this hotel to anyone, it was well worth the money."

"I ordered a taxi from the airport a day before coming to stay at the hotel and they replied that they take such requests a week in advance. I did not understand if they could order it or not, but hotel later confirmed that they did. On the day of my flight to El Nido, there was a delay and I sent an email to the hotel. They did not reply and there was no taxi waiting for me. It would have been fair to know that taxi would be cancelled, then I would have hurried to take one of the very few tricycles that were available at the airport. Since I was looking for my taxi, all tricycles got occupied and I had to wait 20 min if not more until the next batch of tricycles arrived ( thanks to airport security who were very helpful to me and another couple). Upon arrival at the hotel, no word was mentioned about taxi's cancellation. Room was ok but not particularly clean (bathroom floor had some dust), couch was visibly dirty. Breakfast was fine. Check out smooth and quick."

"Everything went well from the check-in till we left the place. The staff were friendly and helpful, and generally accommodating.
The location was perfect for this trip because it was partly work as well which required to go to Kalye Artisano.
The hotels sustainability efforts were evident and commendable, although I would've appreciated bigger trash bins inside the room.
Breakfast food was ok, variety not so good, enough to fill stomach before you head off to your day's activity.
The pool was nice, and the celebrity room was aesthetically pleasing, smelled good, and very comfortable and relaxing, The other rooms we had was equally relaxing and exceptionally clean.
The water dispensers were placed strategically, and cable channels available, although the wifi on the 2nd floor where the suite is was frustratingly weak.
Having said all those, I would stay again when in El Nido, and would recommend to friends and family."

"The service was perfect all around. After a delayed flight and a long time travelling by plane I arrived late my first day. The staff there at the desk was very understanding and were quick to get me to my room so I could sleep no hassle just straight there.
The hotel has a relaxed friendly atmosphere, amazing breakfast buffet and staff that are always ready to help. Me and my partner attended the Friday evening buffet which included live music. These events and services are posted clearly at the Hotel lobby and the Staff know exactly what these events and services entail so there was never confusion about what they were included. Me and my partner also went on Island hopping tours on two of the days we were there. All I needed to do was to tell the desk we wanted to go and they made the call and setup everything.
The hotel for me was almost perfect the only downside is the busy road outside. The hotel does provided ear plugs but I personally didn't need them."

"This hotel is a relatively satisfactory hotel I stayed on this beach. The surrounding accommodations are quite poor except for some French hotels. I feel that the sanitary conditions are all problems. I stayed at a hotel that I thought was good the night before. , After staying for one night, I was scared to change the hotel immediately. This is a more satisfactory hotel I found. Unfortunately, my husband had vomiting and diarrhea when I left the next day. At night, I also vomited and diarrhea. Maybe it was right. The Philippines is not satisfied."

"Our stay at Piece Lio in El Nido was nothing short of amazing! We spent three nights at this stylish and modern hotel and were truly impressed by the experience.

"Great place with helpful staff! Rooms with balconies👍🏻 Restaurant by the pool offers delicious pizza, but some other dishes were not that perfect.
The only weird thing is the window between the room and bathroom (I’ll add a picture), no privacy at all! But overall I’d highly recommend this place because of affordable price and good location!"

"We had the most amazing stay at Mahogany Resort. It’s in such a stunning spot, and the pool is nice and refreshing with a beautiful view to the sea. Great spot for a sunset. The food was the best we have had in El Nido. We had dinner at their restaurant by the beach and the food was faultless, with impeccable service. In the morning we had their special Mahogany Wrap (I can’t recall the name) and it was delicious. We didn’t want to leave. Would definitely come back next time we visit El Nido. The staff also helped me surprise my boyfriend for his birthday. Such a great stay, 5 stars doesn’t do it justice!"

GGuest UserWe really enjoyed my stay at H Hotel. It is very close to SOO MANY places to go and things to see in El Nido town proper!! The Hotel staff were sooo helpful and friendly and polite, and they made the stay even more enjoyable!! Our plane ahowed up earlier than clock in but they got us a room as soon as they could! They offered ideas of places to go and things to see and answered many of our questions! The breakfasts were VERY GOOD, and you can allay have a buffet style breakfast at their neighbors hotel “S Hotel”. The Air Conditioning was nice and adjustable. We loved watching the town come alive in the mornings from our balcony also! We absolutely loved staying here and would HIGHLY reccomend this place and definitely stay here again!!

KKmbrVery nice location with amazing sunset. The glamping hotel is new and they are still finishing building it so there were some issues both with the rooms (room lock without proper card but a very hard and strange key, unstable bathroom’s faucet and hot water in the shower with a very unusual control system) and the staff, who asked multiple times if we had payed the room already with Trip and asked for proof of payment. Other than that, it is a pleasant choice for the nice location and the decoration style. The offer a free shuttle service to the town but you need to wait some time usually. In alternative, when u come back to the hotel you will need your walk up to a bit steep road because the tuck tuck will not be able to come all the way up, but it’s not too bad) They also borrow a free towel that u can bring with you to other beaches. They did not clean the room daily and they said the service needed to be requested because they wouldn’t enter the room without permission. Also the reception is not open 24h which is a bit unconvenient and they would ask to text on whatshapp. For the price paid and considered how expensive it was for philippines, I would have expected less issues but I would still recommend it for a nice staying in el nido.

AAlma CMy husband and I celebrated our second year anniversary at Cauayan. We considered other resorts but we have definitely made the right choice. The island is just breathtaking! We were greeted with a warm welcome by the hotel staff and were escorted to our beautiful villa. My husband arranged a private tour of El Nido islands, where we ended up visiting about 7 spots with our guide even acting as our photographer (he took fantastic photos and videos too). In terms of food, the buffet breakfast offered a wide array of food selection. For lunch / dinner, we enjoyed all that we ordered (though some are really very spicy, so take note). The bar staff can concoct amazing drinks as per your mood & whim. I particularly enjoyed the spa and wished I booked a much longer massage. Our stay at the island became so much more meaningful when we witnessed hawksbill sea turtles being released to the ocean….As amazing as all these are, the best part of our stay in Cauayan is the friendly and customer focused staff. They prioritize the customers’ needs, always have a smile on their faces and have just made our stay in El Nido a memorable one. Thank you Cauayan and we will surely return for another amazing experience at your island!

Pros:
- Room: Clean and decent. Plenty of space to open the bags and pack as need be. - - Laundry: There is a free washing machine & spin dryer (Rudimentary, hence it will take awhile / don't expect your clothes to dry 100%)
- Breakfast: Breakfast is included and decent
- Location: Close to the Main Street but far enough away that the Hostel is relatively quiet
- Front Desk Tours / Bookings: Front Desk can answer all your questions and help with any tour bookings. You just need to book with them the night before
Cons:
- Noisy: The rooms have a ”mesh window” hence if people are noisy in the corridor, you will hear them in the room
- Airflow: Airconditioning is decent but not very strong hence will have to turn on both the aircon and the fan. Once you close your curtains, you won't feel it
- Humidity / Laundry Area: Given the humidity, the items don't actually dry properly in the laundry area. Suggest to bring your own clothes line / hangers and hang them in the room as it will dry much faster
- Hot Water / Showers: There is a shared bathroom (Which was much cleaner and hotter water) than the ladies' only bathrooms (Which had no hot water when I tried)
Would recommend if you're looking for a quiet place to stay

GGuest UserThe resort is in a great location with a small but quiet beach and a nice house reef outside. Beware that some units require walking up a lot of steps and the ones set away from the beach have a lot of mosquitoes around.
The staff are super friendly and nice although the service of the hotel could be more attentive i.e when lying on the beach you don’t get asked if you want drinks. Room cleaning was only done once in our 7 day stay and only because we asked for it. Towels are not automatically offered to beach goers all the time.
The restaurant is pretty slow with almost an hour for food to arrive sometimes. The food itself can be nice depending on what you order. Some is pretty good actually…others a bit average.
Pricewise, this isn’t a cheap hotel and I feel that if you compare the price to resorts in other tropical beach locations around the world, you get much better service in other places like Sheratons, Marriotts and Hiltons etc. that said, overall I would still recommend Matinloc for the great beach and reef.

GGuest UserThe room and cleaness all good, but trip.com and service in terms of booking is a horrible experience. IF YOU ARE READING THIS REVIEW, STAY AWAY FROM TRIP.COM!!! This platform is one of the worst, we had a trouble with check in because hotel could not find our booking, the hotel itself is perfect but trip.com isn't. They also refused us to refund for not used night and early check-in. This should be as crime to not have a possibility to refund! Be careful where you book your hotel!

Room: I used it for three people, but it was big enough. It was really nice to have breakfast on the outside terrace.
Meals: The restaurant at the hotel was really good and we used it for everything except breakfast.
The atmosphere of the whole hotel was so good and calm. I will definitely use it again when coming to El Nido!

GGuest UserThis is a bit of a special place. The hotel is right at its own private beach. It‘s very isolated from everything else which can be nice if you don‘t want to leave the hotel at all. We wanted to go to the town some evenings and that is a bit of a challenge. You first have to take a golf car (which only runs until 10pm) and then change into a tricycle. The tricycles won‘t go directly to the hotel because the last bit of the road is too steep and winded. The other option is to walk along the beach for 20 minutes instead of using the golf car for the last bit, which we did a couple of times. It‘s not too dangerous but there are stray dogs.
The food in the hotel restaurant was Italian and just ok, nothing amazing. The service was not great. Two women seem to know how to run a hotel but the rest of the staff were rather useless. They often seemed annoyed, even when we were just ordering food. We once asked about the zipline that is literally next door and they didn‘t know anything about it (price, time, how to get there). They organised a tour for us, which was great, but messed up the booking somehow so the tour guide thought we were only two people instead of four, which resulted in less food for lunch. And then they even charged us more for the tour.
Our room was fine. Clean and no bugs. Yes, you can hear everything but we didn‘t mind that. The room was only made up on request though.
The whole area is beautiful but there were a few things that annoyed us. So I wouldn‘t come back.

GGuest UserEverything was really nice in this hotel. I love it. The hotel is on the beach and it has really great view. The stuff is really friendly and kind. All the people here are totally polite. The supervisor of this hotel is Gorgeous woman she helped us several times and you can see that she’s almost involved in the everyday life of the guests. Well, we have the problem with the Wi-Fi, she didn’t just said they cannot do anything. She gave us another room with a good Wi-Fi that was more expensive, but they didn’t take any money from us. I strongly recommend this place to anybody who wanna live in the heaven with a great facilities.

GGuest UserThe hotel is located right on the beach in the letter P, along the highway, which is also the central road of the city. On the sides there are rooms, at the end of the “legs” there are rooms with an exit and views of the sea, we were visited in one of these rooms (No. 10). Immediately upon check-in, we saw a sign with tour options, in the city they offer four types, we chose tours A and B from the hotel, you can get to Puerto Princesa (700 pesos per person). There is no water in the room, but in the restaurant there is a cooler where everyone runs to fill up bottles, at the reception they sell water for 100 pesos for 1.5 liters, near the market water is sold for 70 for 2 liters (at 7-11 in Manila the same amount costs 46 pesos). The room has soap, shampoo in bags, toothbrushes, toothpaste, they are provided once upon arrival, but it will last for three days, and I already carry my own shampoo and conditioner. The plumbing was a bit old, the sink was broken in one place, but overall it didn’t bother us. Instead of a blanket there was a sheet, and at night I froze a little, then I started sleeping in a T-shirt. I should note that on the last day I discovered bites on myself - I still don’t know whether there were bugs in the pillow (but then I would have been bitten all three days), or whether I was bitten by plankton in the shallow water where I was sitting in water until night.
Breakfast from 7 to 10, rice, scrambled eggs, tomatoes, two types of meat, cucumber water, pancakes, bananas, coffee, tea. Not very varied, but the hot food was different every day, we ate our fill, everything was filling. The first morning we left on time and all the food was already standing, the second time we left on time again, but waited another 15 minutes for food, while the staff was giggling in the main building. The beach is shallow, 4 sun loungers and two hammocks. There are people on the beach either in the morning or in the late afternoon, there is no rush. The water was shallow and reached the buoys and up to the knee. At night the tide is low and if you look out of the room, and we are looking at the water five meters away, there is no water.
Overall we liked the hotel and would be happy to come again. On the right and left there are hotels costing 20 thousand per night and I don’t understand why they overpay so much.
