"La Vista is a chain hotel that is loved by locals. The breakfast is famous for its richness and deliciousness. Friends who choose to stay must choose a room with breakfast or a double night stay, which is worth the price. Don't miss the hot spring bath. "**Hotel Review: Higashikawa Asahidake Onsen Hotel Bear Monte** **Rating: 4/5** I recently spent one night at the Higashikawa Asahidake Onsen Hotel Bear Monte in a Superior Twin Room, and the experience was quite delightful. The hotel's proximity to the Asahidake Visitor Centre, which is highly informative (I spent an hour there), and the ropeway to Mount Asahidake makes it an ideal choice for nature enthusiasts and hikers. The room was spacious, featuring a modern and minimalistic design that provided a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. My family particularly enjoyed the bath, and the attention to detail in the provided pajamas added an extra touch of luxury to our stay. While the buffet spread for both breakfast and dinner wasn't exactly fantastic, it was good enough to satisfy most guests. The variety was adequate, though there is room for improvement in terms of the selection offered. One of the highlights of our stay was waking up to the sounds of nature and the gentle breeze. The hotel's location is perfect for those looking to trek, hike, or simply enjoy the natural beauty of Daisetsuzan National Park. Overall, Higashikawa Asahidake Onsen Hotel Bear Monte offers a comfortable and convenient base for exploring the area, with spacious rooms, thoughtful amenities, and a prime location near key attractions. I would recommend it to anyone planning a visit to Mount Asahidake."

"Although the building of the hotel was constructed in 1997, the room was modernly decorated and very comfortable. There were 3 onsens available for guests to use and they could not be missed. The dinner and breakfast were remarkable. The staff was nice and helpful. The hotel was located near mount Asahi-dake. It was good to have onsen after hiking in the mountain. What’s more, the area which the hotel was located was free from light pollution. I saw a sky full of stars and it was superb."

"It's not terrible, but I wouldn't really consider it a 'value for money' hotel. I felt that the service and facilities didn't quite justify the price. The hairdryers in the public bath were so outdated that it took forever to dry my hair. When I asked for extra towels, they responded that 'not too many' were allowed, which was the first time I've encountered an onsen hotel being so stingy with their towels. For context, I've stayed at dozens of Japanese onsen hotels. I only used the onsen in the mornings and evenings, and at most, I asked for one extra towel per night – not dozens of times. So, their reluctant response felt quite stingy. By the way, this was the female staff member who assisted me on my check-in day. The next day, a male staff member readily provided a towel when I asked. The food was delicious. However, for guests staying multiple consecutive nights, it would have been nice to have at least slightly different menu options each day. Having the exact same dishes for two consecutive days was a bit disappointing. Would I go back? No. This isn't a place I'd visit a second time. The onsen hot spring water itself was authentically excellent. Also, some Japanese individuals tend to use casual speech ('banmal') when foreigners speak Japanese. However, hotels, being in the hospitality industry, typically avoid this. Yet, the staff here spoke to me in banmal. Normally, one would expect gratitude when a foreigner makes the effort to speak the local language, but to be addressed informally ('banmal')? Honestly, I found it quite upsetting. I've never experienced this at any other onsen hotel. While I can somewhat understand if it's a random passerby, for hotel staff in the hospitality business to use 'banmal' with a guest is simply unacceptable!"

"Asahikawa Airport pick-up and drop-off service was good, but it was very inconvenient that reservations could only be made by phone. It would be nice if reservations could also be made by email. The mountain view from the room was nice, and the breakfast and dinner were also very good. However, the cleanliness and old condition of the room and bathroom were disappointing."

"I stayed at Hanakagura Onsen Hotel during the snowy season. I was healed the moment I stepped into the lobby! The open-air bath outside the window was steaming hot, and the outline of the snow-capped mountains in the distance was looming like an ink painting. The private bath room made entirely of cypress wood was amazing! Who knows the happiness of eating sashimi in a yukata while wearing a heated tatami and eating food?"

JJIMINIt's a very good place for the price. I stayed in a 9-person dormitory, and the common areas were diverse and spacious, so I had no problem staying there. However, there are no services such as restaurants, but the common kitchen, dishes, and cooking utensils are very well prepared, so you can buy food. Some people even grilled meat~ The hot springs are also very good. It's available from 3pm to 9am, so it's great.

LlinnonuggetIt's a bit downhill from the bus stop so it's a bit exhausting if you have to drag your suitcase in the snow. It's very close to the ice festival though. Service was exceptional. The staff was helpful and friendly, many staff knowing Vietnamese, Korean, Chinese and English were very helpful to international visitors. Breakfast and dinner buffets were excellent. The room was big and comfortable, the onsen bath was nice too.

EEng YeowA Convenient and Comfortable Retreat There are 4 units in this building. One parking slot per unit is provided at the corner near unit 101. This apartment offers a truly practical and comfortable base for exploring the area. We really appreciated the thoughtful touches, like the basic utensils and cutlery for easy meal prep, and the welcome inclusion of instant slippers, toothbrushes, and toothpaste. The microwave was also super handy for quick snacks and reheats. Comfort is well-managed with one air-conditioner that kept the unit at a pleasant temperature throughout our stay. The washing machine was a huge plus, and we found the designated drying area right above it in the toilet very efficient. The separate dining table was also a nice touch, providing a comfortable space for meals. 2 dryers are outside the building. With two double beds, this unit is well-suited for small groups or families. We also enjoyed being able to link our Netflix account to the TV, which was great for unwinding in the evenings . Things to Note About the Location The apartment is located in a quiet neighborhood, offering a peaceful atmosphere. While there aren't many eateries directly nearby, there are two convenience stores within easy reach. Do keep in mind that local supermarkets tend to close around 7 PM, so plan accordingly for groceries. We found the area to be quite pleasant for getting around, with not many cars on the road. This makes it particularly fun to explore the town by bicycle, and there are several bicycle rental stores available if you're keen to pedal around.

YYanxiaojiuIt is a B&B run by ********* and speaks Chinese. Dinner and breakfast are charged separately. Dinner is 4,500 yen and breakfast is 1,500 yen. I went there once in autumn and winter, and the food has not changed. If you are staying consecutively or going there for the second time, it is recommended to inform the owner in advance, and they will update some dishes for you. The room is a bit old and the public bathroom on the first floor is not open. If you have a car at night, it’s very convenient to go to Shinei-no-oka to watch the stars!

AAnonymous UserSounkyo is a good place, with many hot spring hotels and beautiful scenery. This hotel is right next to the main road, the first big hotel, a hotel that receives Chinese, Japanese and Korean group tourists. Toothpaste, toothbrush, razor, etc., can be picked up downstairs, even yukata. The two meals included are also self-service, with the configuration of a 4-star luxury group, and you can eat enough. The room is very small and you can't turn around, but the price is here, so you can't ask for too much.

커피향기발자취This time, I came into Asahikawa Airport and was planning to stay only in Asahikawa, Otaru, and Sapporo, but I heard that Biei Furano is difficult because of the tour tourists, and that the birch tree next to the Seven Star Tree was cut down, and that most of the locals rarely benefit from the tourists because they are one-day tours, so I intentionally included this place as a place to stay, and I was very satisfied! First of all, I wondered if it would be easy for a backpacker like me, but there is a city bus from Asahikawa Terminal (Stop 9 - same as the airport stop) to Shirokawa Onsen (White Beard Falls) (1,650 yen), and if you just cross the road in front of the entrance, it is right here, so it was easier and more convenient to move than the accommodation right below the slope, dragging the luggage on the icy road! Also, I heard that there is a shuttle from Biei, and Asahikawa has one too~ When I went from Asahikawa to Biei via, I missed the Biei shuttle time and took the city bus, but when I went back after checking out, I took the shuttle bus, which was convenient and free, so it was great! English or Japanese service is available upon check-in, but Korean service is not available, so please use the translator (Papago). The free shuttle to the Cheongui Lake Illumination the day before at 7:25 was great, and it was also great that the shuttle went to Biei Station and Asahikawa Station! (Since it is shared with Yumoto guests and the starting point is this hotel, there is an added advantage of being able to sit comfortably wherever you want.) The lobby floor smelled like sulfur when I went to Kurokawa or Arima Onsen, so I thought it was a real hot spring and my heart raced, and it was just as good as expected~ In addition to the basic amenities, there were moisture white cream, glucosamine cream, hair treatment, hot spring water cream, cotton swabs, scalp tonic, face pack, and cleansing wash, so it was really good~ The spa seems to change once a day, but the bath on the right is large and the open-air bath is small, and the bath on the left is small and the open-air bath is large, so it was a different kind of fun~ (Before check-out, I was the last guest, so I quickly took a picture of the open-air bath to let you know about this great place!) The lobby, restaurant, and shuttle staff were all very kind, and for this price, the buffet dinner and buffet breakfast were great! In particular, I ate steak, shrimp, and squid for dinner, which was so filling and delicious! I've had a lot of kaiseki meals, but I personally prefer buffets, and I enjoyed everything from the appetizers to the main menu and dessert! I stayed alone in the room, but a 3-person room was on sale for the cheapest price when I stayed, so I stayed in that room. It was spacious and comfortable, and I could see the snow-covered mountains and trees outside! The bathroom was small, but there was a large bath, so I only used it for the bathroom, so it wasn't too inconvenient! (But there was only a toothbrush, comb, and soap!) The bed was a little hard with springs, and the blanket was cozy. I didn't use it in the room, but there was a manual neck massager and back scratcher, which were nice~ The road to Whitebeard Falls at night is also well-lit, so I took the Cheongui Lake shuttle to see the illumination, got off at Yumoto, saw the night view, and came back, and the route was perfect~ Please refer to it! Everything was good, but one thing that was disappointing was that the heating didn't come on after 11pm, so people who are sensitive to cold might feel a little coldㅜ I went to see the night view, went to the hot springs, and came back after 11pm, and the heater didn't turn on, so I was flustered and searched for reviews and found outㅜ There were extra blankets and pillows on top of the yukata~ I stayed alone, so I slept comfortably with two blankets, but if you're staying here, please take note! Also, there's a story about water bottles in the article below, but in Japan, in places with good water quality, like rural villages, there are many cases where people refrain from using disposable water for the sake of the environment! The saying ”When in Rome, do as the Romans do” comes to mind! Each country has different lifestyles and cultures, so it's a shame to have such a bad ratingㅜ As someone who personally enjoys traveling to Japan, I'm leaving a detailed review for those who missed out on this gem~ I went there 100% with my own money! If I ever go to Biei again, I'll stop by! Thank you^^

KKobe FukaeThe hotel description did not capture the situation enough. I was confused due to lack of room pictures. They also posted several listing for different rooms under different hotel name section. But this room is perfect for us. The location is a bit far (if you are not used to walking) from the station but it is only around 7-9 minutes walking. The surrounding area is a quiet neighborhood. The building is new and very clean. It was also warm inside even when the weather forecast said -14 celcius outside. The japanese food they served was also very good. They provided free coffee/tea and water in common area. They also let us lent their microwave. The bathroom is only one but very clean and comfy. The room has its own mini fridge, ac, and tv. If you are wondering where to stay in Biei, I definitely recommend this place.
