The Grade Two listed former Manor House of Painters which lent its name to our village. Recently teased back to its historic best, showing the original additions of its custodians over its 500 year history. The house has many quirky features that have been left as found, from the nooks, creaks and the crackles in original plaster work. Just along our lane is The Alma , a traditional Kentish ale house, family run and offering great food throughout the year both inside and in the beer garden.
