The problem with Hartford is that, once you have been there, all other places pale into insignificance. Nothing can live up to the sheer joy of being there, experiencing the superb service, beautiful accommodation, great food and tranquility. We are always sad to leave and already looking forward to our next visit.

The perfect country escape for an urban dweller. Gorgeous rolling scenery, beautiful horses and cows! An absolute gem in the KZN Midlands, worth a stay at least once this lifetime.

A superb hotel. Amazing service levels. Friendly staff (within the hotel as well as on the farm). The property owner engages readily and we had interesting conversations with him.Superb decor. Bed linen best ever! Excellent food. It would be hard to improve on our experience!

Hartford House exceeded our expectations. We stayed for two nights as part of our anniversary celebration and we cannot stop thinking about our special time here. The food was incredible and the staff are all so attentive and friendly. We would highly recommend this hotel and we will definitely be back soon.

Great site, very comfortable and a lot of friendly faces to provide help
Lovely walking which was much needed to accommodate the first class restaurant which by itself justifies special mention
