We had an almost comical stay at the Le Méridien Indianapolis this past weekend. I should add that previously, when visiting Indy, I have stayed at the Conrad. Familiar with the Le Meridien brand and its 4star rating, I thought I'd switch it up...which was a mistake. The lobby itself is gorgeous, with the restaurant at the very front. The staff will rave about the restaurant to you but it was nearly empty throughout the entire stay (we opted to eat elsewhere so cannot speak to quality of the food). Upon arriving and entering our room, like past reviewers have noted, the rooms are quite small. The hotel is updated, which is nice, however, some of the furniture looked a little beat up. Problem #1 that we encountered: The shower water pressure was inadequate and there was absolutely no hot water in our room. I called the desk to inquire about this issue (because we had dinner plans and I needed to shower...preferably not in a cold shower). She put me on hold for awhile to investigate the situation...then shared that maintenance is working and there will not be any steam or hot water "for several hours." I was confused why she hadn't been in touch with maintenance prior to them turning off the hot water/this would have been nice to know upon arrival. Totally threw off our plans. The receptionist did not offer any solutions/efforts, just a measly apology. Second, though some of the hotel has been updated, certain aspects are lacking. The TV in our room was very dated, approx half the buttons on the remote didn't work, no casting/mirroring capabilities (it advertises such but it does not work). After our failed discussion about cold water I did not bother to call the desk about this. But I will be reaching out to Le Meridien corporate because, simply put, this hotel did not feel luxurious at all, and I've stayed in Hampton Inns that have better amenities and accommodations. Additionally, like other reviewers have noted, street noise is loud. Do not recommend Le Meridien Indianapolis. Spend your money at the Conrad if you want actual 4+ star accomodations.
