Homewood Suites by Hilton Indianapolis - Keystone Crossing

I'm not one to usually write a review, however, after a week of our departure I still feel compelled to write a review. As you arrive to Homewood Suites the check in location is very pleasant and clean, the front desk looks well kept. We checked into our room, and did a quick check , as with children...anything left behind they will find. This was a first, a 1/2 full bag of hypodermic needles. I immediately grabbed the bag and took to the front desk, for disposal. For once in my life, I chose to not make a huge stink about it because I just didn't have the capacity but I can tell you from that moment forward my feeling of safety and comfort had gone out the window. I will say that I appreciated the receptionist's apology and the willingness to comp. the room, however, the feeling of cleanliness and safety were gone. We stayed 2 nights and no real complaints after the original incident so I can't give it a 1 star review. However, due to the lack of cleanliness, the ease of navigating, door entry directly to parking lot, and just overall appeal...it's not a hotel I'd recommend any time soon. At 6:30pm on the day I was to check in, they canceled my reservation - and deleted it even being made in the Hilton system. Had my flight not been delayed, and arrived at 5:00pm as intended, would I have had a room? Also, did they cancel my room because of "maintenance issues" as they claim, or because a GenCom Indy 25 convention is in town and they could book my room for 2x, 3x what I paid? I'll never know and likely Hilton will not see me in their hotels ever again.

Remind me of an apartment complex, but the rooms were in private hallways, like normal, Great area also

I was out of town on a travel assignment for work and my employer recommends this hotel with 2 other preferred hotels in the area. The reason I chose this location was due to the convenience of being less than 5 minutes away from the office I was visiting for work. I checked in before 5:00pm. As soon as I turned the handle and opened the door to Building 2 Room 220, the stench of mildew and “dirty laundry” invaded my nose. I searched around the room and saw no visible signs of leaking/mold/or water damage to the ceiling or floors, etc. But did notice the thermostat was on “Cool, Auto fan and thermostat set to 70. The room thermostat stated it was 76 degrees and clearly could not feel any AC coming out of the unit overhead. I decreased the temperature to 60 degrees on continuous fan cool setting before leaving for dinner. I had a dinner with coworkers at 5:30pm, but mentioned to the hotel staff before leaving for dinner the issues with the room- not immediately asking for a room replacement, but my concerns to which the concierge stated, “im sorry about that” and offered no resolution. When I arrived back to the hotel by 9:00pm, the temperature had not changed, and the fan continued to run; I tested to see if it would even turn off in the “OFF” position and it stayed running with hot air. I tested to see if I could cool the room down with opening the one window to the sleeping area of the room and 2 others in the living room. By 2:30am, I awoke to feeling fire hot, flushed, room full of humidity, and heart rate spiking and feeling dizzy and sick. The smell now being unbearable. I still smell it in my nasal passages all of this time later and on my clothes. I called the concierge, Dylan answered, and explained to him I was becoming physically sick to my stomach and felt unsafe, and needed to ask to change rooms. He said there were not any rooms available (I wasn’t counting on that at 3am but wish there would have been); and he was willing to allow me to stay in the lobby or laundry room at the front desk area. I only had 3 hours of sleep and stayed less than 7 hours in the room altogether. When checking out this morning, I asked that staff please report all of these issues to the hotel manager (who was not available when I asked), and he said he would do so. (5/13/25). I am normally not one to complain, and my coworker stayed in the hotel as well and did not have any of these issues, but I do hope that the management will consider reimbursing the costs of this stay back to my employer’s account. I do hope someone takes this seriously, and does now allow anyone else to stay in the room until these problems are addressed and resolved. As a community health nurse, I took this very seriously to bring attention to this problem.

May Not Be Worth the Cost The place itself seemed nice. A little strange as we only ever saw workers and no other guests at all for the duration of our stay. A few things were not so great with our actual room: holes in bathroom wall, no interior doors (bathroom) shut, fireplace is not in fact an amenity (you would have had to bring your own wood and get prior approval to use); non-working coffee maker.

Ice Very nice place, spacious rooms great for long stays. Front desk was amazing, cleaning lady barged in on my 2 hours before checkout, she was very nice but should wait until after checkout time. Outside gas fire pit had some issues and maintenance didn’t seem concerned to help us. Overall the experience was good and we would go back.
