I've just come back from this hotel today with my partner, in the brochure it said that it was disabled friendly, we are both disabled, we asked for a double room but had a 3/4 bed and 4 steep steps to get to the bathroom, the wallpaper from under the radiator had been ripped off and there was a patch of the same wallpaper underneath the light but wasn't the same shade, the room was too warm and although we put the fan on as soon as we got in the room and we left it on for the duration of our stay the room was still hot, the window in the bedroom only opened to about 3 inches, the shower door was only opened 1/2 way and as a bigger person who needs help to wash it was a very stressful experience trying to wash and hold onto the bar in the shower. The restaurant was close to our room but had to walk to the furthest dinning room past the bar, the food was very disappointing, I had fish and chips which the fish was dry and the batter was over cooked, also I had a Tiramisu with a coffee bean inside, the next night I had a banoffe pie which I couldn't eat as the caramel was burnt, the scrambled eggs were made from powder, the waiter we had actually took my partners breakfast order and was walking away, I then said to him what about my order and he said that he thought that I didn't want anything, as a plus side the bar staff were really helpful, as I'm on crutches and my partner has a walking stick, they always brought our drinks to the table for us, very polite and helpful, but there is only Carlsberg and Teltley bitter on tap but have got bottles and cans of other drinks, the reception staff were very polite and helpful. the entertainment was good, especially the Scottish guy. BUT IN MY OPINION THIS IS NOT A DISABLED FRIENDLY HOTEL
