First the positives: the location is very beautiful, the rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean, and the staff are friendly. I was able to order dinner at the restaurant which was tasty. The location is also safe.
Cons: this BnB serves as a wedding venue (which is exquisite); however, the BnB should not allow private individuals to book a room if there is a wedding going on. I chose this BnB to be close to the airport but didn’t get a wink of sleep as the wedding party carried on into the early hours and the rooms were not soundproof at all.
I especially booked this BnB as it advertised that it had an airport shuttle. However, I was disappointed to learn that actually the BnB itself does not do this - they call a shuttle service which charges a ridiculous R600 for a 20 minute ride to the airport!

Great staff and food are the best
We arrived a bit early but the front desk offered to speed up the services to accomodate us. Real friendly staff and the supper was great.

Just an okay stay but good location
The location- less than 5min walk to the Granny Pool beach and 20 to Thompson was the plus for this hotel oh and the spacious rooms - HOWEVER,our patios for both bedrooms were filthy ,sliding doors and railings muddy ,cigarettes littered - I had to go downstairs to call the cleaners to clean after I tried to sanitize and dust myself and it took all of 20 min per room balcony to show the state they were in … the entire property actually was just not the cleanest ,even the pool was cleaned just once during our 3 day stay ,tables and chairs not wiped at the pool area - cigarette butts everywhere - the cleaners though pleasant enough woke us up at 7:30 calling out to each other the first night until I couldn’t take it and asked them to keep it down - the restaurant was decent enough ,the young lady on day shift a joy ,evening shift and a guy on the morning shift were sour .They kept giving us food without cutlery or serviettes ?!?we ALWAYS had to ask - the young lady at reception was friendly and eager … overall just an okay stay

Shocking
The hotel is not nearly as nice as it looks in the pictures. I would definitely not go back. The standard of the so-called premium apartment is absolutely shocking. The place has holes in the walls, light sockets not in properly, electics very dodgy , im surprised we didn't get an electric shock, the lights would go on and off. The painting standards looked like a 5 year old had done it, as you can see in the photos.
The so called restaurant had very limited menu and its not the sort of place you would enjoy. There was only one restaurant in walking distance so not many alternatives.
I was offered a small refund for the poor service , but they have not honoured that.

The management and staff at this hotel went way beyond their call of duty to ensure an excellent event. We were able to talk through and make changes to our arrangements. The function was well organised, catered and serviced. The hall decor and table arrangements were exceptional.

Booked for a one night stay at what looked like a lovely place on the internet but it was not to be. It turned out to be a South African version of 'Faulty Towers'. The room given to us had a faulty TV and the bedside lamps did not work, this was reported to reception, who turned out to be kitchen staff doubling up as the receptionist. The issue was attended to by a chef doubling up as house maintenance. Needless to say the problem was not sorted out and we were moved to another room. The room was lovely and I believe was the 'honeymoon suite'. We settled in and we thought that we were sorted, but alas, an hour later, we were told that the room was booked by the 'owner' for one of his friends and we were then moved a second time to another room! What a fiasco! More items were found not to work or broken in the third room but we left it at that and left the next morning, not brave enough to try breakfast, and putting the bad experience behind us. We will never return to the Relax Inn!
