Hôtel La Mira de Madiorano

The generous sized Bungalows are well equipped with a large ensuite and all beds have mosquito nets. At the back is a small patio with chairs. The swimming pool has plenty of deck chairs shaded by parasols. The breakfast and dinner meals were excellent - be warned...they serve large portions. Steps lead down to the beach where you can swim or enjoy a pleasant stroll to the fishing village.

Hotel Mira is nearly fabulous. The front line staff is very pleasant and helpful, the setting is beautiful and the rooms are fun with mosquito nets and sliding doors to amazing views. It’s out of the way a bit-nothing really walkable around it. The food was good and reasonable. The beach was a bit pebbly, not lovely white sand but pleasant and there was a very nice beach front pool. They had lovely beach chairs and a nice little cabana for sunset. There was a feeling that management was somehow oppositional to guests. You had to order dinner before 5 pm, but they didn’t tell you this. Rooms aren’t restocked or made up and if you asked for supplies like clean towels or toilet paper the man at the front desk acted like you were making an outrageous request. It’s really too bad-if management was a little more invested in guest experience it would be amazing.

Stayed 2 nights at la Mira as the first stop on a 12 night wildlife tour of Madagascar. Beautiful relaxing location with rooms in small bungalows overlooking the bay where the many fisherman in their pirogues can be seen wizzing across the bay in the strong winds Friendly helpful staff, a good choice of cuisine including delicious shellfish. Lovely verandah on the terrace outside the room for yoga practice. Beautiful sunsets as you take a final dip in the pool beside the restaurant. I unfortunately had a bad stomach upset after eating langoustines on the last night, but the langoustines were delicious! Thankfully it only lasted 24 hours, but made the onward journey interesting!

Beautiful location right on the beach. Good food and attentive staff. The rooms have their own terrace to sit out in the sun. Magical view of fishing boats sailing across the bay. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel as a place to stay.

A great hotel with an excellent location. Various entertainment options are offered (eg tours, diving, snorkeling, massages). Varied and very tasty meals. Staff are friendly and helpful. Personal treatment and care. Evrything was perfect!!!

We stayed here three nights as we were birding in the area. At first, we were just a bit disappointed as it is pretty basic. However, the staff and the comfort of the facility quickly changed those thoughts. The food here was amazing and my only complaint was that the servings were just too large. We started sharing the appetizer and not having dessert. The location is wonderful, the staff amazing and the internet pretty darn quick.
