Think twice before booking at Shilo Inn- Idaho Falls. We stayed here about 6 years ago and were pleased with our stay. We thought we would stay here again since it was familiar. We could not believe how run down it was!!! There is no maintenance nor upkeep happening!! Our room itself was average ( minus the clogged toilet). We asked at the front desk what was going on with the hotel, and they seriously looked at us, as if to say, “What do mean?”. We elaborated on how run down things were, and they were confused!! The planters in the front of the hotel had FAKE flowers in them!! While out for a walk along the Riverwalk, we noticed a very nice looking, nicely kept Best Western Driftwood. We walked in, to check availability for our return trip and the rate was writhing $10 of Shilo. We booked there and cancelled Shilo. Best Western even provides beach cruisers for free to ride along the Riverwalk and has free breakfast with omelette bar and it is direct across the street from the Falls!!

I stayed one night at the Shilo Inn in Idaho Falls and was very satisfied. The location is right next to the Snake River and adjacent to a walking path along the river. Access was easy and there are several restaurants nearby, though the hotel has its own, too. The room was very clean and quiet (I was off-season, though) with all of the amenities you'd expect. A good value for the price. It's a short walk to the falls, too, if you want to stretch your legs. All in all a great experience and I'd recommend it if you're in the area. Bonus Canada geese on the back lawn...

I grew up here and always that this hotel was a nice place seeing it from a distance. Wow! It is so rundown. The front entrance to where you check in has a heavy door to open!! They need to spend a little money and put in new automatic sliding doors like a hotel should have! An elderly person could hurt themselves… The rooms are in desperate need of upgrade!

We had the queen suite , the bed and seating ( couch ) were very comfortable and well situated . The view from the patio door was spectacular . Very quiet and clean , we will definitely stay again . We did not take advantage of the breakfast services this time around but I read good reviews .

Can’t wait to go back, everything was amazing. Breakfast was the best, pool and hot tub, room was huge clean and very comfortable. Good tv, staff was very friendly and helpful. The motel was very majestic and inviting. Free parking and very convenient. I stayed an extra day because everything was so awesome. Great location.

I was pleasantly surprised at the beauty of this hotel and the very spacious room. One of the best hotel rooms I've stayed in. Very clean. Couch area with a table and also a desk. Large sink area. Balcony with a view of the river and the LDS Temple. I loved my stay here and wished I could stay more than one night. Breakfast was also great with hot items as well as cold. My only complaint was the balcony was extremely full of dead bugs and spider webs - could have been swept down. Otherwise, everything was great. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Room was thankfully clean; however, hotel is filthy. Floors are stained and sticky, doors are gouged, bar chain on door in room was broken. No bar soap to wash hands so used shampoo. Coffee maker in room was filthy and no coffee or water in lobby. Strangest check-in ever with ambivalent clerk. No greeting so I just gave my name and was told credit card needed along with sign and initial here. Was told to leave lobby and go half way down building to guest entrance where we could get an elevator when we could have just walked down the hall. Pool area was dirty but there were a few people in there. None of the glass doors are cleaned so you see every smudge, smear and other substance. This place is cheap but you worry about safety and hygiene.

Do not stay here. There are so many better options in the same price range than the Shilo Inn. It hasn't been updated in decades and, even worse, our rooms were dirty, the hallways were dirty, the doors were dirty, and they still serve the basic breakfast using styrofoam materials. The grounds had garbage cans that were overflowing.

Mid fifties style and updated and as a result a really a great place with lots of space, decorum, very nice sized rooms, customer service excellent, meals very good and a large choice. Airport shuttle available and excellent. Mid-west style hospitality quite evident and casual as well. Just a great experience and definitely would stay again vs the Mega Chain facilities.
