Grand Yazıcı Club Marmaris Palace

I genuinely wanted to write a glowing review of Grand Yazici, especially after hearing great things and seeing the stunning photos. Sadly, our experience was disappointing and felt like a series of missed opportunities. It seems like your stay here really depends on luck – some people clearly have a fantastic time, but ours was far from that. Ongoing Construction Despite Assurances We were hesitant to book after hearing about the fire earlier this year. Jet2 assured us that all building works would be completed, but this wasn’t the case. Work was still happening around the hotel, and one day we had loud drilling right outside our door – right during our children’s nap time. That completely disrupted our evening, as overtired kids meant we had to call it an early night. On a positive note, it does seem that the fire safety system has been significantly upgraded. Customer Service Needs Serious Improvement The hotel claims it listens to customer feedback, but we didn’t find this to be true. Despite raising several concerns – both minor and serious – we didn’t feel heard. We made multiple calls and clearly explained what needed attention, but little was done. I also found some of the managers dismissive and even aggressive, especially when I raised concerns about the lack of child-safe door locks. For families with young or SEN children, this is a serious safety issue – a child could easily open the door and walk out unassisted. This is a real accident waiting to happen. Room Issues: 821 and 922 When we first arrived, we were given Room 821. It was immediately clear this room was not suitable for a family: • No safety lock on the door (children could walk out freely) • Exposed wiring • Toilet door wouldn’t close – meaning no privacy • All lights connected, so using the bathroom light turned all lights on • Stained or dirty sheets (black marks visible) • Clothes from a previous guest still in the room • A handyman came to fix the door but never returned Also the bathroom was open plan so when we had a shower the whole bathroom would become wet. Very dangerous with 2 young children. Turns out they put us in a wheelchair accessible room. No idea why as we did not need a wheelchair accessible room. We were then moved to Room 922, which was better but still had issues: • No door lock initially (was installed the morning we arrived) • Period Blood on the toilet seat – my son sat on it before I noticed • Poor housekeeping overall: • Sink and shower drain never cleaned • Dirty towels left on the floor • Balcony was neglected We called multiple times regarding the standard of cleaning but were not heard. We had to call numerous times for something as basic as toilet paper. Unfriendly and Unmotivated Staff Sadly, many of the staff didn’t seem to enjoy being there – very few smiles, very little warmth, and at times, outright rudeness. Some of the waiting staff were particularly dismissive, which really took away from the experience. One

We had an incredible stay at this hotel. Everything was exceptionally clean and well‑maintained. The food was excellent, with a huge variety of fresh fruits, salads, vegetables, many types of main courses, and delicious desserts – everything was fresh and full of flavor. The staff were all very friendly, polite, and helpful, which made our stay even better. The facilities are fantastic – three pools, a private beach with plenty of sunbeds (note: not sandy), and beautiful surroundings of green hills and blue sea. Being all‑inclusive, we enjoyed unlimited drinks, water, ice cream, and even a bakery and coffee shop offering sweets, pastries, coffee, and tea throughout the day. There’s also entertainment, including dancing, and a kids‑free private beach with its own bar for those looking for a quieter atmosphere. The only downside is that the hotel is nearly a two‑hour ride from the airport, but it’s worth it for the gorgeous location near vibrant Marmaris. Highly recommend and would definitely come back!
