As a first-timer I was not sure what to expect and went, as one does in Zimbabwe, prepared for very contingency. But all emergency supplies and equipment remained unpacked, since there was absolutely everything needed for a comfortable stay: coffee/tea on tap 24/7; plenty of hot water; home-from-home comfort food (including a perfectly cooked rare steak); a comfortable bed; mosquito coils....and more. However, most impressive was the hospitality. Kelvin is a personable, hands-on manager who pays attention to detail, while Tatenda and Privilege were charming and always there to help without being intrusive. Privilege and I spent a happy time poring over her bird book, discussing the identity of the resident woodpecker and when she spotted Meve's starlings outside the camp she called me to share her find. 30+ birds identified in three days, including a crested crane chick with its proud parents. Ganda is definitely a place to visit again.
