This hotel is very bad, expensive, not worth it, strongly recommend to avoid it: 1. The sound insulation is very poor. 2. The breakfast is all cold food, not a single hot one. 3. The service is particularly bad, there is no shower gel and shampoo, and when I asked the front desk, they said they were out of stock.

The accommodation is located right in front of the port of Husavik and is in a quiet and peaceful location. When we arrived, the hotel was unmanned, but there was a message for us at the front desk and a key, so we were able to go straight to our room. The room was warm and simple with a bed, a small table, and a closet. It would have been nice to have a small fridge to store drinks or skir, but it didn't really matter because it was winter.
The only minor problem was with the other guests in the room we were staying in. They were drinking and making loud noises until the early hours of the morning, which made it a bit difficult for my husband and I to get some rest. It would be nice if there were instructions throughout the hotel to be quiet for other passengers after a certain time.
Overall, though, it was good. I would like to visit again in the summer.

The hotel is easy to find and it’s a short walk to the town. It’s right next to Jaja ding dong bar (Eurovision movie fans!) and you get free entry to the Eurovision exhibition there if you show your hotel booking.
Room was spacious enough for 2, clean and got everything we need. Breakfast was included in our booking and it had a decent spread.
Very easy check in and check out so no complaints there.

Parking was onsite. Reception guy was extremely engaging and helpful to two tired travelers. Room was quiet and spotless. Breakfast was good and included. Location was central--a few minutes' walk downhill to the center.

I have traveled all over the world and several years ago, I wrote about a horrible hotel near Vik, but this hotel is even worse. First of all, we made our reservation six months ago, asking for a deluxe room with a king bed, and a second room with twin beds and when we arrived, we were informed that Our reservation was not a guarantee and that they could not accommodate us. I specifically made the reservation for my teenage boys who will not sleep in the same bed and they said well there was only one option. They could give us a room with no view and truly there was no view. The entire window was blocked by the roof of the building next-door. The hotel is dirty and dingy. The floorboards creek like crazy. The TV in our deluxe room was about 12 inches wide and I’m not exaggerating! It was so small that perhaps only an Icelandic elf would appreciate it. The towels were so hard that you could exfoliate your skin without ever going to the spa There was old fecal matter in the toilet which had clearly not been cleaned. The bathrooms were disgusting with old shower curtains. The carpet was old and dirty. The room for my kids desperately needed new paint. There was not even a place to put your luggage down. We had to use a chair. After much discussion, we were able to leave the property and went over to the Foss hotel which was excellent!! We were told by the people at the Foss hotel that about 3 to 4 times a week people leave this hotel and come over there.

Where to begin? The bed was hands down the worst I’ve ever slept in, it was so unbelievably soft with literally no structure and bed to no padding, to the point that the mattress kept sliding off the base throughout the night as there was no structure to it. I’m known for being able to sleep just about anywhere, in fact it’s a talent. But it was absolutely impossible to get a good night’s sleep here. I woke up aching FROM the bed. To make matters worse, our room was right next to reception and backed directly onto the Ja Ja Ding Dong Bar patio, where loud music blasted from speakers piped OUTSIDE all day until around 10.45pm every night (bar shuts at 10pm but continued to play whilst staff turned down for the night). Unsurprisingly, this made the room incredibly noisy and with people sat out drinking on the patio offered zero privacy. Speaking of privacy the curtains were see-through (!!) which not only worsened the lack of privacy (given the bar right outside), but also made the room completely impractical in summer. With the midnight sun, the room was flooded with light all night long. The floorboards upstairs are super creaky too and it sounded like Michael Flatly was rooming above us at all hours. And the heat in the property was absolutely stifling. The room and bar area were boiling hot, to the point I had to take a cold shower just to cool down enough to sleep. In Iceland. Bonkers Also there was almost never anyone on reception except for…on the second night two men at the reception desk (which as backed on to our poorly located room) and the men were laughing and talking loudly until around 11pm. Just peculiar! Without question, this was not only the worst accommodation we stayed in during our time in Iceland (and let’s be honest Iceland is not known for its hotels), but the worst hotel I’ve literally ever stayed in, anywhere. We genuinely would have been more comfortable at the local campground. Breakfast was the worst we came across - very small selection and what was out was hardening or off colour. Oh….and also the Eurovision exhibition this place boasts about? Well it was “closed for the foreseeable future” due to a “technical issue.” This isn’t noted on the website or social media… Dreadful experience.

We loved our room overlooking the troll house. The staff was a amazing -- we spent a few hours sipping hot chocolate and watching Eurovision videos with the night attendant, who was amazing!
