The hotel is easy to find and it’s a short walk to the town. It’s right next to Jaja ding dong bar (Eurovision movie fans!) and you get free entry to the Eurovision exhibition there if you show your hotel booking. Room was spacious enough for 2, clean and got everything we need. Breakfast was included in our booking and it had a decent spread. Very easy check in and check out so no complaints there.

Pro Personal welcome letter in the room Views over the bay of Húsavík and the small city. Ask for room 201, but read also the con. Nice big bed Good tea making facilities in the room Con Next door is an exhibition and cafe about the Eurovision song festival. This is cool, but the bar plays music till late in the evening. Don’t go for room 201. No gluten-free breakfast available

The check-in was frustrating. I had come 4 hours early because of all the weather warnings (iphone was saying potential danger to life) and was hoping for an early check-in but it was not possible. Was told to come back around 3PM and maybe there would be a chance but when I did I was told check-in starts at 4PM very matter of factly. They even put a sign on the desk saying check-in starts at 4PM as I stood there.. I came back an hour later and was met with a friendly check-in by the same person. Would have been nice if they could accommodate especially during crazy weather conditions. Maybe let me stay in the breakfast room to kill some time, or something. I just missed the hospitality here which was a shame. Anyway the room is nice and the location is excellent centrally in Husavik. I went during a time when there were a number of weather warnings due to extreme winds and snow. Unfortunately the weather was just horrible the entire time I stayed here. My whale watching trip was cancelled as well, so had to spend quite a bit of time in the hotel. Room was nice and clean, bathroom had a nice comfy bath (love the sulphur smell). Not the best choice of decoration in the bathroom unfortunately, a huge mirror and just a sink with no place to put toiletries. The breakfast was disappointing, extremely basic not even serving bacon, scrambled eggs or some sausages like most of the places I've stayed in do.

Stayed in room 201 but Disappointed in so many ways 1. check in : very easy indeed, keys on the counter and no one around for a basic briefing or recommendations 2. room : neat and clean but missing space to store clothes and stuff; bathroom is tiny and barely enough space to store more than a toothbrush 3. breakfast: the worst breakfast we had in our whole 2 week stay, just basics not going for quality , nothing fresh or produced locally 4. service : no one around, 2 mute people at breakfast just adding foodstuffs one by one or slice by slice. Furthermore, no replies to emails sent after stay enquiring about forgotten item in room. Would not go again , would not recommend.

Myself and my partner were booked to stay here from a Saturday evening through until Monday afternoon. This was the longest we were staying anywhere on our journey around the country, mostly enticed in by the promise of whale watching and the JaJa Ding Dong cafe and Eurovision experience. It would be fair to say that this was to be the absolute highlight of our holiday and the main reason that we’d decided to holiday in Iceland. On arrival, there were no staff present and our room key was on the front desk for us to collect. First impressions of our room were good. It was large, very warm and the huge bed was very comfortable. However, when looking for a plug socket, I found that the floor was coated in a thick layer of dust and dirt in the corners. We also noticed that there was only one tea bag and no cups in our room for us to use. Undeterred, as British people in need of a tea fix, we left our bags in the room and excitedly hurried next door to JaJa Ding Dong, only to find an upside down sign in the window stating it was ‘closed until further notice.’ Everywhere we looked online said it was open, we weren’t notified by the staff that there was an issue with the cafe and we couldn’t find any clues as to why it was closed or when it might reopen. Come the following morning, we realised that the closure meant there was now nowhere to have breakfast. Most of the places in town were closed as it was Sunday. We’d also not had the greatest nights sleep as the heating was on full blast all night with no way to turn it down. I also had to shower with the door open as the bathroom had become unbearably hot. To continue our run of bad luck, our whale watching trip got cancelled (we know that is in no way the fault of the hotel) and that led us to decide to cut our losses and leave Husavik by Sunday lunchtime. Overall, we had a very disappointing stay and probably wouldn’t return. Husavik seems like a lovely town though.

Outstanding location - you can walk to the jetty from where all the whale watching tours depart. And the must visit Husavik whale museum is also in the same vicinity. The rooms are well appointed though the bathroom is a bit small. Surprisingly the breakfast spread was inadequate for such a nice hotel.

One of our favorite hotels during our stay in Iceland. The location was good, just at the edge of the town, and breakfast was also very nice, served in their adjacent Eurovision-themed restaurant. At the moment they have a fun little exhibit on the ESC, inspired by the movie "Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga" which was partly shot in Husavik (entry is free for hotel guests). The room was okay but could use a bit of refurbishing. Be prepared for the strong sulphur smell of the (hot) water (as anywhere in northern Iceland).

Spent 3 nights in late May. This place is not fancy but the rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, they supply coffee and tea in the room and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The manager helped us with dinner reservations and told us about a large hot spring we could visit. It is a short walk to downtown for restaurants and whale watching tours. The breakfast was good and the "breakfast lady" was a super friendly Italian woman. They use glacier water for cold with is fresh tasting and thermal water for hot which has a sulfur smell. You get used to it. The only improvement I could suggest is to construct the curtains to block the light coming in from the sides. It never gets dark in late May
