We booked a one night stay in for a birthday treat. From start to finish everything was magnificent. From reception and concierge, the Spa Garden, the cocktail bar and the orangery, everything is fabulous, our room - 203 was amazing, the snacks and cocktails were a lovely touch. Dinner in Terra was incredible. the best parts were the staff, an absolute credit to the resort 26/10 for everything, no fault to be found.

Amazing stay. The staff friendly and attentive. Spa was clean, inviting and relaxing. Room was outstanding. Food in the clubhouse was delicious. Breakfast was perfect and the lovely member of staff that served us could not have been any better. We will definitely be back

What a truly wonderful experience. My hubby and I went for an anniversary dinner. The staff were absolutely fantastic. Food was amazing, but the staff were so attentive, professional and so friendly. Would definitely recommend as a treat.

As with any review I write, I always want to be balanced and fair, so... The Good Room was absolute luxury, can't fault a single thing - absolutely bloody Amazing, nothing more to add! The Spa facilities, again fantastic, although I found anything that required heating to be a little cold but I guess that's a personal choice. In brief you will not be disappointed, they even had a bar serving smoothies, coffees and even Prosecco and beer; huge plus for a relaxing day. The Bad Rockcliffe clearly pride themselves on being a self contained resort catering to both ladies, gents, couples and mixed groups and to their credit they have all the facilities to do this. On our one night stay the plan was that the ladies would have a spa treatment and the men would play golf, all good you would think. However the golf course was in effect closed for the day (to be clear there were tee times available after 2.30pm however at the time of year we went we would not have completed our round) and we had to drive to another course some distance away. I think its madness that Rockliffe don't reserve a couple of tee times for guests, its just poor for the experience they are trying to provide hotel guests! Secondly, we arrived at 1pm, we did not expect to have access to our rooms but the ladies who had Spa treatments booked for later in the afternoon planned to kill an hour or so in the Spa itself, but no, Rockcliffe wanted to charge them a further £60 for an hour's access to the pool area even though they had paid for spa treatments and were staying overnight. NOT 5* SERVICE & a COMPLETE MONEY GRAB! And to make things worse, we could not even get lunch in the restaurant as an alternative. Now the above you would think was bad enough but to top things off the next morning breakfast took over 2 hours from sitting down to finishing. I had plans to go back in the Spa etc, what a waste of all our time. The Insult We obviously complained about our experience and as you would expect Rockliffe management took onboard our feedback, accepted we had been poorly treated and said we would be compensated. However this is where the positivity ends, all we were offered was a minimal discounted return stay, not even a free round of golf, treatment etc. So in effect no compensation at all, a complete disregard for our poor treatment. I won't be taking them up on their offer.

Had a lovely spa day here facilities were great, staff were super friendly, helpful and attentive. Really nice food as well. The spa garden is definitely a must when visiting the heated infinity pool was my favourite! It also looks out onto the golf course so had some great views. My spa treatment was lovely and relaxing, I would definitely return. The only thing Rockliffe is missing is a relaxation room to chill out in after having your treatment, instead you’re taken down into the shop!

I took my company team to Rockliffe Hall to host several days of customer workshops. It was a great experience. The events team were on the ball and all the hotel staff managed to mix superior service with an approachable manner. The rooms are some of the best I have stayed in and the private dining food was excellent. The location and setting are very relaxing. I didn’t get a chance to use the leisure facilities, but those that did said they were very good. I recommend this hotel for a business event.

We had a fantastic 2 night break at the Rockcliffe. It’s just a quick hop from the M1, but could be miles away. It’s set in beautiful grounds, which a golf course, expensive spa and walks through the countryside. We were there to relax and enjoy the spa facilities and the food. The staff were so welcoming and friendly and the Orangery was a great setting for breakfast overlooking the golf course and gardens. The walled garden is worth a visit - you can help yourself to spare veg left out in trays. We ate in the Clubhouse, which does a decent bistro style meal and Terra the James Close Michelin Star restaurant. The spa was amazing, with access to the Sap a garden with hot tub and loungers, and the hydrotherapy pools and 4/5 different sauna and steam rooms. There was plenty of space for all and lots of different experiences. Our bedroom (suite) was roomy and well equipped. I will definitely return

Excellent venue as clearly the Hotel and Grounds are maintained very well. The conservatory was delightful with excellent views out to the golf course. Staff very friendly, informative and cheerful. Food outstanding. We will make another visit.

We stayed at the hotel so we could visit James Close' restaurant Terra (reviewed separately) and we thoroughly enjoyed the hotel and the spa. The room was lovely, bed very comfy and I had a great sleep. My wife managed to get a facial at the spa which she said was very good so I lay about in the hydrotherapy pool for quite a while. Breakfast was very nice in the Orangery, a beautiful room.
