Arrowhead Inn by Baaman's

Location: Close to Arrowhead Provincial Park and Huntsville, convenient for travelers

We had to travel 5 hours from home for a family funeral unexpectedly. Finding a room at the last minute in the height of tourist season isn't always the easiest, and we were on a budget. We were greeted by the owners with friendliness and hospitality and offered a drink when we arrived. The owner himself escorted us to our room, and we discovered that the inn had only been in operation by them for about 4 1/2 months. Having worked at several hotels in the past, there are a few things I always look for wherever we stay. The Arrowhead Inn exceeded my expectations. Keep in mind, it's not a fancy hotel with satin sheets and 5* dining, but it doesn't pretend to be. The bed was comfortable (and I'm a bit of a princess when it comes to beds), the room was very clean, the room was quiet in spite of its proximity to a major road and everything worked as it was supposed to. Best of all it was where we needed to be at an affordable price. We would not hesitate to stay there again. The tap water is not currently potable, however they do provide a couple of bottles of water. The chairs were quite comfortable, and there was a fridge, microwave and Keurig in the room. Other things that received a thumbs up are the fact that they have "real" hangers that you can remove and hang up elsewhere, the curtains actually close all the way without gaps, the window opens to allow for fresh air, and the fact that the room was not carpeted (carpeted hotel room floors are unbelievably dirty). The only things missing that I would personally like to see would be a non-slip mat in the bathtub (the tub is quite narrow and has a slope towards the middle), better lighting at the entrance to the driveway and perhaps the addition of sheer curtains so you can have some privacy but still have natural daylight in the room. If you love your Family and Friends, you will keep them away from this Hotel. Had to pay for the night, BUT we had to stay at another Hotel. That is how awful this place is!! Black mold in many spots in room. Wallpaper peeling off the walls. Floor is rotted in spots. Everything is filthy dirty!! Windows are so dirty, can’t see out of them. They must pay other people to do their Reviews, because anyone in their right mind, wouldn’t stay at this Hotel. You have been WARNED!!!!
