We arrived at 4pm as instructed. Quite a late check in really. As we walked in we were told the heating didn't come on until 4.30pm. We were also told we had to have breakfast early as they were going out to lunch. We got to the room and It was freezing, 5 degrees. I wanted a shower to get ready to go out for dinner but the only thing we could do was get under the duvet. At 4.30 it was still freezing so I went looking to ask when the heating was coming on. It did come on after 5 minutes but at 5pm was no better. We went to look for the thermostat which was set at 19 degrees !! Eventually we just left to go for dinner in the same clothes just to get in somewhere warm. When we came back at 10pm it was warmer but still not acceptable at this time of year The breakfast was small, one tablespoon of beans half a tomato and a few little mushrooms, bit of bacon and an egg. It was on cold plates and Luke warm. Strangely enough the first thing he said in the morning was were you warm enough. I told him we weren't and how it has totally spoiled or trip to which he replied sorry but the heating doesn't come on till 4.30 and that was that. Not a great attitude for someone on the hospitality industry. Interestingly his side of the house was toasty warm. It's a shame as it could be a great place. Totally ruined our trip away

A Rural Gem A delightfully secluded spot in verdant, rolling countryside. This very well appointed modern house built in a traditional style and set in a beautifully maintained garden. A friendly village pub that serves good food is within walking distance. The room was spacious, spotless and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, perfectly timed and exactly suited to my needs that day. My stay was a quick overnight stop before a sports event early the next day, but it would be nice to visit with more leisure in the summer months.

Beautiful buildings and grounds I was welcomed by name at the door, and made to feel welcome from the start. I was asked what time i wanted breakfast, and was advised which door i could use to go in and out. I asked about smoking area and was advised. Later they had put a chair and ashtray out for The house was in an absolutely beautiful location with stunning grounds, with no traffic noises. Would highly recommended for a quiet break.

Away for work What a find in the middle of the country! Great welcome from the owners, lovely comfortable room, great touch of providing small jug to get fresh milk from fridge (which you could put your own food in) for tea/coffee in room. Hot cooked breakfast provided in price, option of toast and cereal as well. Got to leave with some home grown tomatoes as well!

A hidden gem Lovely, comfortable clean and spacious room. Good size breakfast with good quality ingredients with pleasant hosts. Property located away from major roads surrounded by stunning gardens makes for a peaceful nights sleep. Would say I would stay again, but I had to come back for work again unexpectedly the following week and re-booked without hesitation
