Holiday Inn Express & Suites Arcata/Eureka-Airport Area

This hotel is clean and comfortable. The room was large enough to accommodate all our luggage. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom area was clean with plenty of towels supplied. The breakfast had several hot and cold options. The first morning there were two breakfast attendants. They kept the area clean and well supplied. The second morning there was only one young man working and he was struggling to keep up. People were waiting for food and the tables were not clean.

BaySide Inn & Suites Eureka

I got there after dark and the first room I was given was upstairs and they don't have an elevator so I asked for a ground level room. The desk clerk was very nice about switching my room at no extra expense but the first room I was assigned was rather isolated and I wasn't comfortable with that. The desk clerk kindly switched my room again to a better room on the ground level at no extra charge. I really appreciated their willingness to get me a room that I was comfortable in at no extra charge.

A hotel with a sense of history. All the American cultural history is written in the building. I was fortunate to have a chat with the boss. It was very friendly and kind and helped us solve the problem about the nearby park!

My family stayed at your ****** for the first time this weekend. My daughter and I surprised my husband and son in law with a fishing charter. What should have been a fun-filled, relaxing weekend, was not. First, One of your security guards in the ****** asked my daughter for her ID. She produced it for him. He accused her of having a fake Id and would not give it back to her. He went over to the cage to get it checked out. Told her he was going to cut it in half if he deemed it fake. Another employee said it was real and gave it back to her. How humiliating and no apology was given. They need to be better trained on the security features to look for. 2nd, on Saturday night, my daughter called the front desk 3x because the people above were stomping and pounding all night. Was told they would take care of it and it still went on all night. We were suppose to wake up, have breakfast and gamble . We were going to stay till check out. They were so exhausted and grumpy, they left at 8 am because they had a 4 hour drive and wanted to get home to take a nap. I have called 3x and been told managers only work m-f business hours and also told all management is in Vegas at a training. Your business was apparently suppose to run with no issues since no one was left in charge to make sure customers were happy. $340 for a hotel that was not fun or relaxing. Management did reach out but did not seem to care. Said they would investigate and get back to me but never did even after multiple emails.
