EuroParcs Bad Hoophuizen

After an initial, stylish visual impression, our accommodations turned out to be quite unkempt. The bedrooms were functionally furnished. The walls and ceilings were covered in dead mosquitoes. The beds were a disaster. The feet of the bed frames were connected with cable ties, but the mattresses on top still slid apart with every movement. Everything was very noisy. The glass roof of the conservatory hadn't been cleaned for as long as the rest of the terrace. The kitchen was okay. Small kitchen knives were missing, and the brown coating on the coffee pot couldn't be removed despite vigorous scrubbing. The complex is spacious. The mini-market is well-stocked and prices are fair. However, getting bread rolls from 8:30 a.m. is quite late for families with children. The restaurant opening hours are also quite limited. Chips for lunch were impossible, as the kiosk doesn't open until 5 p.m. All the public washing machines were broken. The beach is beautiful, with plenty of play areas for children. The shower at the beach was broken. The indoor pool is small but a good alternative in bad weather. Unfortunately, it's not very clean, just like the restrooms at the beach.

A very beautiful setting with fantastic sunsets. Everything else is a complete disappointment! We are currently at Europarcs Bad Hoophizen and will be leaving tomorrow, even though we booked until April 15th. We arrived on April 5th. We have house number 18. The location is great, the house and the cleanliness are flop. The rooms are very small. The photos are extremely misleading!!! The separate toilet is so tiny that I, a relatively slim WOMAN, felt totally uncomfortable. How a corpulent person is supposed to cope with this strange toilet is a good question. The layout of the house is generally very strange. The opening of the doors is not well thought out, as they open against each other. The beds and pillows are extremely uncomfortable. I couldn't sleep for the first two nights. Oh yes. The heating in our house didn't work on the first day, so we were freezing that night and the next morning. The emergency number, which can be reached 24 hours a day, was unreachable and the answering machine only spoke Dutch. Then, oh miracle, I pressed various buttons and suddenly there was a man on the phone who listened to our problem and promised that everything would be sorted out in half an hour. However, we received no help and had to freeze until 10 a.m. because reception doesn't open until 10 a.m. on Sundays. We were helped at 11 a.m. There is nothing in the house!! No towels, dish soap, cloths, no small knives for peeling, no dish sponges, no hairdryer, no shampoo, no soap - you have to remember and bring all of this with you. The surrounding area was not cleaned; there are branches, leaves and rubbish lying around. Not a nice feeling upon arrival. We have had stomach aches, diarrhea and vomiting for the last 3 days. We think it is due to the water quality here. So we will leave tomorrow, earlier than planned. I hope we will be able to. We did not get a proper rest and felt very uncomfortable in the house. My son wanted to go home from the very beginning. We do not recommend this accommodation and will never return.
