Wm. Farmer and Sons

Highly overpriced. Horrible location, loud train and street noise. One teeny, tiny ceiling light in bathroom, husband didn't even have adequate light to shave. Tub and shower are ancient. Three floors up that included narrow and dangerous stairs. No breakfast provided. Traveled 10 countries in 2024, this was the biggest disappointment for a room at nearly $400 per night. Added photos to show bathroom situation; the one tiny ceiling light in the bathroom, must think the teeny tiny window above the mirror will provide adequate lighting. We didn't even attempt to use the shower/bathtub.

My husband and I enjoyed our second stay at Wm Farmer and Sons. We had last stayed in The Faulkner in 2017 and this time chose The Pint. Everything we could have wanted for a long weekend was available. The kitchen was a dream (with the exception of not having back up paper towels). Very well appointed with utensils, pots/pans, glasses, mugs, etc. Though if you are staying with more than 3 people, you may need to ask for some extras. The main bedroom was super cozy with awesome sheets, pillows and blankets. We had full control of the thermostat, so we didn't have to be too hot/cold at any point. There are 2 tvs; one in the living room and one in the bedroom. Aside from the fact that they seemed to have separate cable serves (so you couldn't start watching something in one room and finish in the other), they were fantastic. As was the superb couch! The second bed is in the living room. We didn't need to use it and if we did, it may have been awkward as it was not blocked off in anyway from the living space. But it was super comfy as well. The only complicated aspect was the hotel left the Venmo details for the cleaning person. I Venmo'd them tips each day of our stay. On the last day a different cleaning person left an envelope for a tip. I suggest you just leave cash tips.

Really nice atmosphere and people — staff and guests. Nice rooms, excellent restaurant and we like Hudson very much — first visit. Good low-key buzz about the restaurant and bar. We were happy and will soon return. Only positives to say about a little adventure to Upstate New York.

We had a wonderful stay. The suite was very homey and worked well for our trip with our son, his wife, and toddler. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a 5 star meal in the restaurant. We highly recommend Wm Farmer and Sons for a fun and relaxing getaway.

The room was so beautiful and the staff were super helpful. While the building had the charm of one that was old and rustic, everything was in fantastic condition and touches of modernization that made it an accessible experience. Highly recommend for a weekend getaway!

The communications Wm Farmer & Sons sends out is extremely helpful - I also had additional questions and they promptly responded to them. The inn is conveniently located close to the Amtrak station, and walking into town. We stayed in the Schooner room which was bigger than we needed, but nice that the bedroom is not facing the street. We had dinner at the restaurant, which was delicious, and the service was great. We brought a nice bottle of wine, and they charged $35 corkage fee.

Wm Farmer and Sons is not only my favorite hotel in Hudson but it's one of my favorite hotels period. The staff is, without exception, gracious and offers exceptional hospitality. The rooms are unique and cozy. The beds are some of the most comfortable I've ever slept in. Sadly, the restaurant and bar were not open when we were there this trip but having been at other times both are unmissable. Stay here. You won't be disappointed.

This is a wonderful hotel in a terrific location right across from the river and very close to shopping, restaurants, and coffee shops. The hotel staff couldn't be nicer, and the rooms show a tremendous attention to detail. I particularly loved having a cozy fireplace in the Mercer suite and a spacious shower and well designed bathroom. The Harney tea was a nice touch especially my favorite which is the Paris flavor. The beds are incredible! Just a lovely, charming and historic boutique hotel!

The restaurant and room were both terrific. We stayed in the Half-Pint suite which was comfortable and spacious. The location was perfect and provided a great jumping off point to explore the town and the Hudson Valley. But above all, the service experience provided by everyone we encountered on the team was top notch. Thank you for a great stay.
