I lived in London for several years. The inn has that quality feel of an English manor complete with furniture made by master craftsman in the UK. It is exquisite. The neighborhood is quiet. The cheese purveyor across the street is to die for. The owners are friendly and you soon feel like family.

What an extraordinary experience. Our stay at the Inn at 34 was the highlight of our year. Bob and Marie hosted my immediate family for the weekend of my daughter's wedding at Basilica in Hudson. My wife and I stayed for a week as we helped stage the festivities. We could not have hoped for a more welcoming home away from home. Our room, the King room, was spacious and extremely comfortable. Even though outside was in the 90's, the room was cool and comfortable. The antiques were exquisite and later I learned that our hosts have a bespoke furniture business as well. My wife, a self confessed 'princess on a pea', declared that the mattress so comfortable that we needed one at home. Over our stay we were able to enjoy a series of mouthwatering home made breakfasts. Not only are the baked goods made in house, but the yoghurt and the GRANOLA!! is as well (Bob was kind enough to share the granola recipe). Do not miss the French Toast and especially the Dutch Baby Pancakes. After a few days myself sisters arrived and were immediately taken by the warmth and generosity of our hosts. Indeed the Inn became the gathering place for the extended family - and everyone from 6 months to 75 had a lovely time. Bob and Marie (and their lovely poodle) made everyone feel right at home. If you are lucky enough to visit Hudson, do yourself a favor, book in at the Inn at 34. You will be glad you did. It just feels like home.

Let's get this part out of the way. Yes, Bob is a great backer ( I tasted his croissant... it was really very good). But I can buy a croissant a many other bakeries, I was paying for lodging. NOT baking I'll preface with the fact we are not B&B people. More 5 star hotel people. But we wanted to be in town this weekend and decided to take a change on The Inn at 34 given the stellar reviews. Did not work for us on any level. In fairness, I just want people wo understand what they will be getting. First off we arrived a bit tired and wanted to freshen up, un pack etc. Marie, who opened the door for us was far more interested in chatting and professing her knowledge of Hudson ( even though we made it clear we were familiar with all of it). It was painful waiting for her to give us the key to our room, after hearing about the building history. That might have been fine had we not wanted to just settle in. Absolutely no concern or awareness for her guests wants. The "large room" wasn't particularly large. There were about 5 lamps for lighting all with about a 25W bulb. If felt like candlelight. Bed was ok, reasonably comfortable but not great. I didn't sleep well either night. Bathroom was "sort of" updated and despite having a linen closet we were left exactly ONE bath towel per person. Which meant no towel for me when I washed my hair. Proprietor no where to be seen to request an extra towel. House is VERY old. and not up dated. No ability to control heat and due to a rainy night the heat was turned up way to high for my liking. We had breakfast choice circled on the menu we were handed us at check in. I asked if I could possibly get an egg the next morning. . ONE egg. I explained that I don't care to eat carbs. Nope not possible. ( The provision store, next door sells boiled eggs for$1.00... would have been an easy fix). The next morning at breakfast my husbands pancake and ONE sausage ( singular) arrived covered in Sugar. ( we prefer to avoid sugar). All other options were equally sugary. The lone tiny sausage was the only protein in sight. I was offered a 2oz ( guessing here) container of yogurt. For us we had the feeling that instead of trying to please their guest, Bob just wanted a round of applause for his baking. He seemed perturbed that I didn't choose to eat his croissant. He actually took it back!! You do not put food in front of someone and take it back regardless of whether or not I eat it. I might have touched it! The following morning we left early and had a lovely breakfast at The Maker, after grabbing a coffee at the provision store next door. There was apparently a medical issue with one of the hosts after the first morning. Our room was never made up and we understand stuff happens but at the very least, they could have left a stack of clean towels for their guests. No back up help at all. We Paid close to $1000,00 for the the two nights.

My husband and I were in town for a wedding and stayed at The Inn At 34. It was such a wonderful experience! Robert and Marie were excellent hosts -- they were knowledgable of the area and local history, offered many recommendations and best of all, showcased incredible cooking and baking skills! I came home inspired to bake because of them. The room we stayed in was clean, spacious and comfortable -- and quite charming. We highly recommend staying here over the expensive area hotels.

Our visit to the Inn at 34 was fantastic! Bob and Marie are wonderful hosts - the rooms are interesting, comfortable and spotless. For the bathroom, everything you would find in a five star hotel is right there and it too is spotless. The location is great to do any sort of dining or shopping in Hudson, and also a great base to explore the region . And the breakfast - home-made delicacies. Marie even shared her recipe for her tomato pie!

Such hospitality! I’ve been in the hospitality business and know the importance of creating an impression. From the moment we walked in we felt very “ at home”. Marie and Robert are very friendly and knowledgeable hosts giving excellent recommendations for dining and things to see. They also share a lot of interesting history about the Inn, Hudson and the general area. Our room was very comfortable and clean. It’s a nice quiet place off the main road but so close to everything. You can walk everywhere! Breakfast was one of the best I’ve had! Homemade yogurt, baked apples, mouthwatering scones and rich tomato pie. Everything was absolutely delicious! I found Hudson to be very quaint and a bit quirky which I loved. As my first time in Hudson, I definitely plan to go back and would absolutely stay at Hudson on 34! Thank you Marie and Robert for a wonderful weekend!!

I visited the Inn for the second time earlier this month and just can’t say enough about it. It’s the most charming place and located just off of Warren Street. Hudson has great shops and restaurants, but breakfast at the Inn shouldn’t be missed. Homemade pastries, granola, yogurt, quiche, French toast, etc. The owners are the most gracious hosts- welcoming and helpful, but they give you plenty of space. It feels like a second home, but one with better furnishings, art and food than my own! I can’t wait to return.
