Stayed 2 nights in room 6 on a Dinner, Bed and Breakfast rate of £256 per night. All the staff were welcoming, pleasant and helpful during our stay. Room: At the front of the hotel so we were initially concerned about road noise but needn't have worried as the traffic dies down by 21:00 and isn't heavy anyway. Only managed to open one window as the blinds prevent the shutters fully opening on the others. Very comfortable bed. Initially the best hotel shower I've had but then there wasn't enough hot water for the second shower and I'd only been in my shower for 5 minutes maximum, same thing happened the second morning. Good tea and coffee making facilities including a Nespresso machine. Food: £50 allowance per person at dinner which was generous as it meant we could have three courses including the lobster! Very high standard and adjusted well for gluten and lactose intolerances. Breakfast was good but check what is included and what is not. There was a wedding function on our second night and we were concerned about noise but didn't hear a thing, which is probably why we were put in Room 6, thank you! We would definitely stay here again and even if staying with friends locally we would suggest coming to eat here.

Truly exceptional. Such a high quality venue, everything about The Manor House shows how much care has gone into the planing of the venue. Rooms - stunning Cleanliness - perfect Bar service - excellent Afternoon Tea - excellent Cellar bar - excellent The Lantern Restaurant - simply sensational The Kitchen - excellent Standards of service throughout - exceptional Thought and care given to the quality products, fit, finish, decor, just brilliant. Value for money - it isn't cheap, but for the quality provided, we believe it to be great value.

We booked here for my parents 60th wedding Anniversary, and wow, from the moment we arrived we were provided with attentive friendly service. The staff were warm, friendly and simply wonderful. The afternoon tea was exceptional and delicious. We will be back

I honestly cannot recommend this place enough. The customer service is second to none. We decided to celebrate my birthday here: personal hand written notes, fudge, a handwritten card signed by the team and a sweet treat we’re all gifted to me and it was truly thoughtful. The staff go above and beyond. The room was immaculate and very stylish. Big fan of the underfloor heating in the bathroom which was huge! The food was divine too. Thank you very much. We will be returning.

Booked this hotel for one night On arrival we were told the restaurant wasn’t open on Mondays or Tuesday and should have been told this. I wasn’t told this on 3 enquiry emails and a call to confirm booking So our room number 10, initially seems fine and a very nice place to be overnight. My wife tried to have a bath but wasn’t very hot Two incidents now but bearable. However on returning for the evening and trying to sleep was impossible from the noise next door. Approximately every 30 minutes there was a knocking/ banging noise followed by a water running/flushing sound. The adjacent room was not a bedroom and I don’t know if it was part of the gym or storeroom or something else. This was enough to keep us both disturbed all night On my wife sending an email that was responded to by Rooms Manager Katie she dismissed our issues by saying we were told about the restaurant being closed ( no confirmation email so we weren’t) More worryingly though apparently maintenance had checked and there weren’t the noises that kept us awake all night. So I would suggest either of these possibilities 1 Maintenance never checked at all 2 Maintenance are deaf or didn’t stay long enough to hear this 3 Either maintenance or Katie are not being truthful about this So seen as that was the response and a follow up email has been ignored for 5 days by Katie a one star review is well and truly deserved I will update if the review generates a reply

The Kitchen obviously lets down the Manor House. I’ve tried sandwiches in the past but the bread is just too thick. This time I chose the beetroot, goats cheese and walnut salad. There was plenty of beetroot but only a minute amount of goats cheese and hardly any walnuts. The accompanying bread was stale. I had to ask for butter. For £16 I expected something far better especially as the restaurant food gets good reviews. It seems like they don’t care about the Kitchen so why bother with it? I won’t in future.

We stayed for one night en route to Scotland. This hotel is quite exceptional. It has been beautifully designed, all of the fittings are modern and all function perfectly. The staff were all excellent. We stayed at 6 hotels on our trip and this was by far the best.
