Our afternoon tea experience was just everything you could wish for. I’m struggling to find the words that describe how wonderful it was. From the delicious afternoon tea to the amazing service, the attention to detail, we could not fault a thing. This has got be the best afternoon tea I’ve ever had, with wonderful staff who really cared. Even when my husband and granddaughter came to pick us up there was no rush for us to leave, despite it being December and incredibly busy. My husband enjoyed coffee and my 9 year old granddaughter asked the waiter for the same as grandma and auntie Vicky. Coming right up he said, I was slightly panicked as we were drinking Porn Star Martini cocktails……….her drink arrived in a Coup cocktail glass, non-alcoholic cocktail with a lemonade shot. So very kind of Elliott our server, it really made my granddaughters day……..and mine. The whole experience was perfect in every way. Can’t wait to go back.

Nine of us dined in the Lantern Room on Boxing Day. The food was amazing, to a very high standard and the service was impeccable right from the bar and in the restaurant. Highly recommend this restaurant for its quality food and high standard of service

The staff are great but the management and the infrastructure let them down. We had a disappointing expensive stay over Christmas. We booked the apartment so we would have a sitting room. The bed was tiny with a rickety, noisy frame. We kept having to ask for more towels. The tv in the sitting room didn’t work properly (tbf the hotel tried to fix it) so we had to sit on the bed to watch tv. This meant the apartment was pointless. Having said that the settee was amazingly uncomfortable so maybe it was a blessing. Breakfast was excellent. We stayed for four nights and two breakfasts took half an hour to arrive. They did have marmite though. All in all disappointing. Christmas lunch was excellent Tom was helpful on reception

I visited on Wednesday 11 December in the early afternoon with my Mom. We had a champagne afternoon tea, I called in advance and requested more savoury than sweet and my request was honoured. The sandwiches were lovely, I can’t comment on the sweets as I didn’t eat any. The guy who was working in the Clock Tower room that afternoon was great with Mom who suffers with dementia, thank you for being so kind.

Highly recommend
I cannot recommend this Hotel highly enough. A stunning building, stunning decor, every room is simply stunning. All the team are so lovely and welcoming and the food is simply divine.
The rooms that we stayed in were so beautiful, clean, the beds are so comfy with such comfy pillows and duvets.
I would stay here again and anyone searching choose this hotel it’s incredible.

A fantastic place to stay!
What a fabulous place to stay. Lovely room, comfy bed, funky kettle and coffee machine whisper luxury at you, the bathroom is huge and the shower a dream. The food was superb, the wine well-kept, and the beer whose name I've forgotten too (it's the one that goes in the sourdough starter) and OMG the sourdough bread deserves a mention all of it's own.
If you're going to give the sourdough a few paragraphs in the magazine it's got to be good, well it was better than that!
It's not cheap of course, but it is very good!
