OYO The Croppers Arms

Terrible! Imagine this, you turn up to your pub in the evening after long commute, it's nearly 11pm, it's cold, dark, pouring with rain ...what do you find, a locked pub door, no sign of life. You ring the bell, no-one there, they've all gone home. Your standing outside in the rain, you call the agent, they don't even recognise the booking number, lol ...they say nothing after 20 minutes on the phone ...you give up, and try to find another place to stay, wandering around Huddersfield in the torrential rain. NEVER AGAIN!

Location a bit misleading at it’s quite a trek from central Huddersfield. Small but friendly, traditional pub. Food was nice but a bit limited menu. What was a surprise was the bedroom that was a really comfortable and well appointed. Bit of a climb up the stairs from the main bar, but well worth the effort. Leaving at the crack of dawn, had to use the fire escape as rather main building was locked up! Very good value for money overall.

Good and convenient Service not to be improved to seek if we need something during our stay.

Nice friendly pub to the west of Huddersfield. Only have 5? rooms to let but very clean with bath as well as a shower (nice to have the option). Good selection of of beers, great staff and food available (even though I didn't get time to eat there). A Co-op supermarket and chippy across the road and other takeaways within a stones throw. A bus stop is directly outside for regular services into town or out to Slaithwaite, Halifax etc.(across the road), but beware that nothing runs much after 11pm and it's a stiff uphill climb from the bus station (about a mile). Greenhead Park is halfway and well worth a visit. Holmfirth is 30+ minutes by bus and the 232 bus will take you to the mining museum at Overton (get off at Reindeer Inn).
