The room facilities are perfect, and the loft room type has a big bed on the upper and lower floors. Just in Chengkan Village, you can walk to visit. The house is very antique, you can sit and drink tea in the backyard, and the view is wide and relaxing. The boss is very enthusiastic ~ In the afternoon of the check-in day, I called in advance to remind us that there will be a fish light show around 7 pm in Chengkan. I was afraid that we would miss it. In the evening, I cooked two dumplings for us to try. The hotel owner cooked a good dish. Very satisfied with the accommodation experience, the boss is also very enthusiastic to introduce us to the village 😍

The rooms are new, the environment is elegant, the location is excellent, the service is attentive, and the parking is convenient. I chose this B&B after reading the reviews of tourists online. I feel that it is very good and worthy of the name.
Chengkan, Huizhou Ancient City, Tangyue Archway, Baojia Garden, and Tang Mo are not far away. The 2 yuan direct bus to Chengkan and other attractions are on the same route.
The Qiankou Residential House Museum near where I live is a 10-minute walk away. People who love Huizhou architecture can have an in-depth understanding of the architectural style characteristics of Huizhou residences. There are 11 Ming Dynasty buildings and 13 Qing Dynasty buildings here, which were collected and rebuilt by the State Administration of Cultural Heritage to protect cultural heritage.
Opposite the B&B there is the Jinzi Temple, which is the largest private ancestral temple in China and is also known as the Wang Shijia Temple. The New Fourth Army once lived here for defense, and now it is a patriotic education base.
In short, the accommodation is good for tourists and leisure residents.

GGuest UserThe homestay is close to the town. It is very convenient to eat and buy things. The boss is particularly responsible. He contacted one day in advance. He also prepared a pick-up service. He warmly reminded me to go up the mountain and gave a lot of pertinent suggestions. He sent us to the visitor center early in the morning. Take the shuttle bus ~ The homestay is very hygienic. Electric toilet, hot water is also hot in seconds, the room design is also very personal, the window is the mountain view, it feels particularly comfortable, if you have the opportunity, you will go again ~
NNaomiOur stay at the J. Mountain hotel was beyond our wildest dreams. I rarely leave reviews but our 3 nights here were so stunningly exceptional that we felt driven to express our gratitude and appreciation for the stellar staff, service, and beautiful setting of this hidden gem of a hotel.
The service was without exception some of the best if not the best I have ever experienced at a hotel, and I travel often, having visited over 20 countries in the last few years alone and stayed at many beautiful and well-known five-star hotels and brands. Despite being a very young hotel (having just opened in September) J. Mountain Hotel holds its own and then some. It began months before our stay when we reached out to the hotel on WeChat to ask for guidance on equipment, tickets, and transportation. As we are visiting from America the area isn’t necessarily the easiest to access or plan for. Responses were almost immediate no matter when we reached out and always went above and beyond. For instance, my mother is nearly 70 and although very active was worried about slipping and falling while hiking in icier conditions; they offered to even purchase crampons for us should we wish although they advised us we would not need them for the time of year we were here (they were right).
While here their thoughtfulness included texting us updates on and warning us about inclement weather while we were hiking around Huang Shan (there is cell service), drying and fluffing our wet gear when we returned from a particularly wet hike, and most astounding of all resolving an incredibly stressful issue we had with an upcoming flight that had been canceled (they suggested and secured alternative means of transport to a second city and then arranged for a different flight with the airline directly).
We must specifically give our thanks to Hotel Manager Ryan, who is young but clearly extremely talented and excels in his role. He not only oversaw and proactively sought to help us on every front but was responsible for resolving our flight emergency. He also clearly had directed staff to help us to their utmost ability at all times, including having breakfast and dinner ready for and served to us at the times we requested. Ryan also personally met us and gave us a tour of the hotel and its history and design, as well as accompanied us to the art gallery and an evening tea tasting held in the gorgeous tea house on the grounds. He checked in with us every day and night and made sure everything was to our liking.
Driver Wang Kai was our personal chauffer throughout the stay and was extremely courteous, professional, and attentive; he was always there to pick us up and see us off at multiple locations throughout our trip and not once were we ever allowed to wait. He even brought us hotel slippers and large down jackets to change into out of our soaking wet gear when picking us up at the end of a hike. When we said we did not think we would need some of the gear they offer their guests, we noticed he packed it in the car just in case we changed our minds and needed them later.
I could literally go on and on but wanted to make sure I left room to appreciate how beautiful the hotel itself is and how much attention to detail has gone into its design and planning; at almost every turn we discovered something that added to the ease, enjoyment, and comfort of our stay. J. Mountain Hotel, thank you for one of the best experiences we have had in many, many years.
RRadonesqueThe location is excellent, right on the top of the Huangshan summit close to Bright Top Peak. The service was incredible. I booked a the ”comfy standard room”, and as soon as I got there, they took me around and showed me all the different rooms and asked which one I wanted. I chose the cabin style room and they upgraded me with no upcharge. They actually told me the price for the rooms was the same, regardless of the fact that the trip.com platform listed them as different prices. Just so you know, C-area, which are multi-bed dorms, was not available on trip.com but is available on xiecheng (c-trip, the Chinese version of the app), and is only 300rmb a night versus the 1,200rmb a night I paid for this room. Had I known earlier I would have booked it. Lunch buffet was pretty good though a bit pricey at around 80-90rmb per person, though dinner was outrageous at 160rmb per person, and the food was pretty much the same as lunch. You can get cheaper food at C-area and the quality is about the same. The hotel was extremely generous bringing me snacks, offering free drinks and coffee, giving my friend iodine for his wounds (he was bitten by a monkey on the mountain - no joke, they are fierce here), and even giving me free shoe covers and plastic bags for when it rained. They fully asked for a five star review and even showed me photos of step-by-step what they wanted me to do, but I am more than happy to give a five star review for the level of service. There was even a performance with singing and costumes and dancing in the lobby in the evening, and multiple rounds of free drinks being handed out.
GGregMII chose the 0517 hotel after reading great reviews, and they were not wrong! Starting with the simple things, the location is so convenient being in the part of town nearest the park’s south entrance. You can walk there in ~15 minutes, passing several options for a street food breakfast along the way. There is also a good selection of restaurants for dinner, and a very nice bakery to pick up snacks for the day. The long distance buses arrive at a bus station a few km away, but the hotel will arrange the pickup for you, free of charge.
The hotel’s design in the rooms and shared spaces is very modern & clean, in a style appreciated by westerners. The rooms are on the small side, but have everything you need.
Leaving the best point until last – the highlight here is the customer service provided by the owner Timo and his staff. 11/10! Nothing is too much trouble, they will help you with everything from trip planning, to organizing local shared taxi to surrounding areas, to storing luggage, or whatever. On both the nights there, I had a long, friendly chat with him and a couple of others over a drink in the evening. Felt more like being his personal guest than being in a hotel. HIGHLY recommended!
CCinichengyibeizhanyong, qinglingxuanThe stay was great. The rafting scenic area was across the street, but it was closed because the season was over. The owner upgraded me to a moon-viewing room for free. The scenery was really great. I had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. I was very satisfied with the dinner order. Every dish was delicious. Eight dishes + a few bottles of beer and drinks cost about 60 to 70 yuan per person. I recommend everyone to come. Attached is a picture of the scenery seen from the floor-to-ceiling window in the morning.
GGuest UserHongcun Yushan mountain scenery house is convenienly located near the South Gate of Hongcun Scenic area. We booked courtyard B which is located outside and behind the main hotel complex with breakfast included. The room was spacious, tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable, and had a small courtyard, but unfortunately no garden chairs or table to sit outside. In hindsight we woud book another room in the main complex next time. It has a lovely open garden and plenty of outdoor seating. I contacted the hotel before our stay and managed by using a voice translator to connect with the staff on Wechat. A friendly staff member met us at the entrance to the scenic area and entry is free of charge when you stay at the hotel. The hotel staff don't speak any English, but they were very helpful and friendly and we got along fine using Wechat and other translators. I won't recommend eating dinner at the hotel as there are many local Chinese restaurants in the ancient village. The hotel offers a coffee shop in the lobby and has a number of options, like Americano, Latte etc. The coffee is very good, but I felt it was a bit pricey for the cup size. The hotel breakfast is Chinese with no Western options, and it is served in unique way in a tray. I enjoyed the breakfast, but my husband would have liked more western options. On our arrival the room was already pre-heated and the beds in the room were comfortable. It was snowing lightly when we arrived and there were umbrellas available in the room. They also provide vanity items. We visited just before the Chinese New Year tourist rush at the beginning of the holiday and this was a very good location and time to visit despite the cold weather. The ancient village was not too crowded and it was nice to walk around in the evenings and daytime with the hotel is situated conveniently right next to the South lake. Drone flying is allowed which can give drone flyers an aerial view of the village. Depending on your iterinary a one night stay is sufficient to visit Hongcun and the nearby Xidi ancient village then move on to another hotel at the foot or top of the mountain or Tunxi village. We enjoyed our stay and can recommend this hotel to travelers wanting a good hotel experience in Hongcun.
GGuest UserLocation = Great location. It is at Tangkouzhen. The hotel itself has a restaurant within its premise. There are mini markets nearby for you to stock up on snacks and other food stuff and beverage. It is about 30 minutes bus ride to Huangshan.
Cleanliness = Excellent. Everything is in order. It has a smart system where the drapes are opened and shut with a touch of a button. The rooms are spacious and everything you need in a room is there and there was not once we need to call the helpdesk. Service = Excellent. There is a manager who is very hospitable that gave us a lot of information on the food and weather and the preparation for the Huangshan trip. There is also a tour agent who helped to arrange for the transportation to and from Huangshan which is also very helpful and patient. Facilities = Excellent. There is a laundry room with dryer without additional charge. There is a massage service available in case you need it after Huangshan hike. The restaurant's food is tasty and reasonably priced. The staff were very helpful in helping us to book the transport to Tunxi and back. There were 5 of us so, if we used the taxi we would need to book 2 but they suggested and helped us to get a 7-seater. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay here.
YYing ChiThis stay was a 12/10! Firstly, the exterior of the hotel was stunning first look as you enter. Then, they let us store some of our bags here that we did not need to bring to the top of the mountain for one night so we didn’t need to carry so many things which was extremely helpful. Then, from the hotel they drove us to the south entrance & the car was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The hotel also provides complimentary breakfast & laundry!! So good. The following day as we came back from the mountains, we were given a number to contact someone from the hotel to come pick us up and bring us back to the hotel! There were many employees there to assist us when we arrived. One was helping us check in, another was telling us about their room service and showing us the menu. As we were getting our bags that we left, a female employee helped us carry all our heavy bags by herself and kindly showed us where our room was. Even when we tried to help her, she would say its okay. Moreover, when we arrived into our rooms, the first look was that it was extremely neat and tidy, the atmosphere had a homey comfortable vibe, smells nice and very spacious for a family of 4! Highly recommend to stay here! They also go out of their way to help us with special requests and showed they sincerely cared for their guests happiness. <3
AAlexandraDuring our stay , we had a wonderful experience. The hotel offered excellent service, comfortable rooms, and a welcoming atmosphere. The staff was friendly and attentive, always ensuring that we had everything we needed.
The location was convenient, making it easy to explore the area, and the hotel’s amenities. The rooms were clean, well-maintained, and provided a relaxing space to unwind after a day of activities.
AAllaboutTravelsThe overall experience is awesome! The hotel breakfast is fantastic and memorable as traditional local food are provided too.
Let the taxi driver see the chinese name of the hotel as the name is quite common.
