Popular Huangshan 4-star Hotels

The hotel was located halfway along the mountain, so it was really worth staying to take a break for the night. The service was top notch, was served at the reception area by（艳艳） she was really friendly and helpful and would send us weather updates/sunrise/sunset timings and the chances of seeing them and also answered all my questions via WeChat. She also gave us some free local snacks for our hike down. We had the buffet dinner in the hotel and for the price, the food selection was very impressive considering we are up in the mountain and the food/drinks were all hand carried by the porters (which you will see along the way). It has the local specialties, roast duck, fish, etc. There was no air-con but they provided an air cooler so it was cool still. Also, we went during Mid Autumn Festival and they even had a Dragon Dance in the hotel lobby and some performances (I think some were by the hotel staff). Was pretty amazing as it was rather misty and foggy that night but they still kept the mood and festivity going. Kudos to them! Although it is a little pricey for the hotel, but it was well worth it and considering the limitations the hotel has to deal with due to its location, I was really satisfied and would highly recommend!

This was my first visit to the famous Huangshan. My tour agent helped us book the entrance fee, cable car, and electric bus tickets. We needed to show our passports at every entry or boarding point, as the electronic tickets were linked to our passport numbers. The hotel we stayed at is a nice one, located right next to the Yuping cable car. However, be prepared to climb another 15 minutes to reach the hotel. We arrived early at 10 am, so our room was not available yet. We left our small backpacks at the hotel and trekked to the Bright Summit. Along the way, we saw monkeys and passed by the Baiyun Hotel. By the time we returned to Yupinglou Hotel, it was almost evening. The trek was scenic but very tiring, with many stairs. Our kind and helpful host, Yu Jian, from Yupinglou Hotel was in constant contact with us through WeChat and recommended places to visit. This hotel is closest to the Celestial Capital Peak, but I was too tired to climb it the next morning. I highly recommend climbing this peak and will do it if I have the chance to visit again. Overall, it’s a nice hotel to stay in. Don’t expect too many luxuries, as it’s located on top of a rugged mountain. Even the vegetables and food need to be carried by porters to the hotels, which is no easy task.

Although the price is definitely a little high, it makes sense for a hotel situated on top of a mountain. The public areas were bright and spotless. The room I booked was comfortable and mostly clean. The bathroom did have bits of black on the ceiling. Can’t beat the location though, as it’s close to a great spot to watch the sunset/sunrise. Appreciate especially the helpful service and timely communication from Kai at the front desk, who was also kind enough to share his photography of the night sky. I was able to get a few cool shots at a scenic outlook he had recommended. Maybe because I went a little late, but the dinner buffet was pretty mediocre. Overall a very good stay. Would book again, but maybe choose other food options.

This hotel is a gem in Tunxi that I found on Trip.com. We regret not staying here for 2 nights at the start of our 4 day trip in Huangshan at the start of Chinese New Year in Jan. 2023 because it is near the Huangshan Bei (North) high speed train station (25 min drive by Didi) and an easy travel to the Yungpu cable car (about 45 min.) to access the mountain. I contacted the hotel and connected on Wechat and the English speaking receptionist Xiao Xi (he is an amazing host and an ambassador for this hotel) answered my questions and sent me the taxi/Didi location. When we arrived we received a warm English welcome and an unexpected upgrade to a spacious gorgeous, already heated room with a huge bath, and shower overlooking the river. Our original room price included breakfast, which was a mix of Chinese and Western choices. I recommend trying the preserved tofu. First time I tried it; it resembles blue cheese, and is surprisingly tasty. We loved the Japanese style design of the hotel. The hotel is situated conveniently near the promenade adjacent the river, Luping cobbled stoned shopping street and Tunxi ancient street. Xiao personally guided us to these streets and made some dinner suggestions. We decided to have dinner at the hotel and had a lovely meal of sushi and ramen. The hotel has many areas designed for guests to relax inside, and outside where you can have cups of tea on the house. It also has a library room where you can relax reading a book or just have a cup of tea. They also offer tea ceremonies which is included in the room price. The swimming pool is an added bonus if you visit in summer. The promenade and shopping street can be accessed from the gate at the outdoor seating area on the roof as well. I definitely recommend staying a night or two in this beautifully designed hotel with friendly staff and service in English and Chinese. The locals were friendly and a sandwich and coffee at the FFFFF café is a must. It is one of the most delicious roasted sandwiches (we call them jaffles) I have eaten in China. In the evening you can visit one of many wine houses, clubs or bars in Luping or Tunxi Old street, or just walk around and enjoy the scenery. We don't regret visiting in winter. It was chilly outside but we experienced windless days and nights making it a pleasant experience walking around.

Everything about the hotel exceeded my expectations. From the quality of the hotel’s breakfast and location to the responsiveness of our assigned caretaker: 小河(XiaoHe). Upon arrival I added 小河’s WeChat and was shown - on a map - what I could expect to see given the length of our stay. I was even given information about the likelihood of a clear sunset/sunrise - and when my girlfriend needed it 小河 called the mountain clinic to purchase Pain killers! My favorite part of the hotel will have to be its location. It’s a 30 minute walk from YunGu cablecar, a 10 minute walk from a good sunset/sunrise spot!

The rooms in this hotel are clean and tidy, the environment is beautiful, it is backed by the Emerald Valley, the service staff is friendly, it is close to the mountains and rivers, and can help arrange travel. The front desk service is very thoughtful. I highly recommend everyone to stay here

Facilities: The guest rooms are spacious and bright, with complete facilities, including comfortable beds, HDTV, high-speed network, etc., which makes people live very comfortably. The hotel's sanitation is very good, both the guest rooms and public areas are clean and tidy, without odor. Location: The hotel is located next to Xin'an River, with convenient transportation. There are many dining, shopping and entertainment venues around, and it is very convenient to travel. I also received a phone call from the hotel housekeeper after checking out, which is great!

A homestay full of surprises. I chose this one because of the atmosphere of the small courtyard in the pictures. When I checked in at midnight, the housekeeper was very welcoming and helped me carry my luggage. He enthusiastically solved any problems and recommended interesting attractions and introduced local culture. He also cared about and reminded me to pay attention to safety when I came back late. He really treated every guest as a friend. I was so touched! It was very interesting to sit down and drink tea in the lobby after I was tired of shopping. On the road, I not only encountered beautiful scenery, but also met interesting souls~

Although the room is a bit old, the price is still very good in all aspects, because I am choosing on the edge of Xin'an River, the first choice for business trips is because the room is in a hurry and I didn't take a photo. I took a photo outdoors.
