GGuest UserShuishongshi Shanfang Hotel is a unique hotel with a strong artistic flair. Our room offered stunning mountain views the moment we opened the door, and at night, we could hear the gentle murmur of the stream. The young lady at the front desk who assisted us was incredibly kind and helpful; she planned a perfect hiking route tailored to our fitness level, which really compensated for the hotel not being situated at the very peak. As we set off for our hike, she even thoughtfully provided us with hiking poles. The driver who handled our transfers was also superb, ensuring seamless connections from the hotel to the trailhead. On our second day, when they helped us transport our luggage out of the mountain area, the hotel thoughtfully prepared bottled water and a lovely farewell gift.

We were a group of 8 people and had an unforgettable stay here. The hotel owner is one of the kindest and most helpful people we’ve ever met. From the moment we arrived, he welcomed us warmly, gave us great local recommendations, and even personally drove us to each destination!
On the day we went hiking in the mountains, he provided us with free walking sticks. He helped us with everything — arranging transfers, buying entrance tickets, and planning the route. He also allowed us to check in early and check out late, which was incredibly convenient.
I shared room 8303 with my friend. The room is designed for two people and had two separate beds, both very comfortable to sleep in. There was also an air conditioner in the room, which made our stay even more pleasant.
Another thing we’re super grateful for — the owner kindly let us do laundry. After hiking in the mountains, our clothes definitely needed it!
The view from the window was absolutely stunning. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, full of natural light, and have plenty of power outlets. The showers were great, with clean water and convenient showerheads. There were all the necessary toiletries: body soap, shampoo — we recommend bringing your own conditioner if needed.
The hotel can also prepare food for guests. We really enjoyed the tomato and egg noodles — delicious and homey.
There’s also a local café nearby where we had breakfast a few times.
The hotel is located in the mountains, perfectly positioned for visiting nearby attractions, waterfalls, hiking spots, and even riding quad bikes.
A tip: bring a good quality raincoat if you’re visiting during rainy weather!
The owner speaks basic English, and even though it wasn’t easy for him, he patiently explained everything to us in English with so much kindness and care. He truly went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable — even helped us search for a lost phone in the mountains!
He also called us in advance before our arrival to confirm our plans and helped arrange a transfer to the train station after check-out.

She truly went above and beyond to make our trip memorable. She gave us perfect, detailed advice on the best spots to watch the famous Huangshan sunset and sunrise, which made all the difference. We got the most amazing photos thanks to her!
What touched us most was her genuine kindness and warmth. She even surprised us with a few small, thoughtful gifts during our stay! It felt less like we were at a hotel and more like we were visiting a friend.

PPhilip QLocated beside the South Entrance to the village and facing the water-body (see photo of hotel with red banners). Unlike most hotels within the village, this hotel has conserved the architecture of the exterior and interior of the over 300 years old structure. It is well maintained with modern amenities and a nice manicured garden filled with bonsai plants. The Chinese breakfast was simple and nice. The menu has a good range of beverages and the food was good at reasonable prices.
The room we stayed was small but cozy. It is within the main building and just outside the room there is a reading lounge. It was quiet and hardly used while we were there.

LLydiascapesMy stay in Tingquan Xiaoyuan has been absolutely delightful.
I booked a long stay here as a retreat and break from the work and it is exactly everything I need to unwind and recharge.
The guesthouse ran by a husband and wife team are so hospitable and go the extra mile to make sure my stay here is relaxing and I have everything I need to work and go about my day.
The room i am staying in is very brightly lighted with a desk for me to work. I have to say the bed is also very comfortable and I have been sleeping well every night.
The surrounding is so peaceful and tranquil, with gardens and flowers and mountain peaks in the distance. I am rather glad I am staying here in the valley instead of near the centre.
In terms of service, the boss is very helpful and responsive to my messages when we need to ask any question or require a pick up after the hikes. The lady boss is similarly extremely friendly, warm and kind and ensure my needs and well being is looked after every day. She cared for me like her own family.
I really appreciate them going the extra mile to help a foreigner like me who struggle with the language.
I would strongly recommend this lovely and cosy guesthouse to any local and foreigner who is looking for an amazing visit to Huangshan for a few days or up to a month. They will ensure you are well taken care of and your stay is absolutely delightful.

After a flawless experience at the Tunxi Old Street branch the day before, I unhesitatingly chose this hidden gem in Tangkou Town at the foot of Huangshan. And it certainly didn't disappoint; the service standards of this chain brand were as excellent as ever!
Super convenient location: The hotel is very close to the transfer center and offers a free shuttle service, which was incredibly important for us as we were rushing to the mountain early in the morning!
Incredibly thoughtful service: We arrived at 6:30 AM, not expecting to be able to check in. But the hotel not only safely stored our luggage but also provided a complimentary, delicious breakfast! There was a wide variety of breakfast options, all tasting great, allowing us to eat our fill and power up for our mountain climb. What was most touching was that we bought raincoats at the hotel but didn't open them. After coming down the mountain, the front desk attendant proactively helped us exchange them for drinks and snacks. This kind of flexible responsiveness definitely deserves praise!
New and practical facilities: The hotel opened in 2024, and the overall environment is clean and tidy. Although the pool is slightly less impressive than the one at the Tunxi Old Street branch, it doesn't affect the stay experience at all. I'm particularly keen on their quad family room; it looks super great, and I've already arranged with friends to try it out next time we're a larger group!
In short, this is an ideal accommodation choice before and after climbing Huangshan, with meticulous service. Highly recommended!

GGuest UserWe were allowed to check in early at 11 am. It took us 1 hour and 20 minutes to hike to the hotel from the Yungu Cable Car, which wasn’t too strenuous. We requested, and got a Mountain View room, facing the front, at the very end. Our room was large, clean, nicely-furnished, and comfortable. I don’t think the mini fridge worked. The path to the Cloud Dispelling Pavilion was pretty short and easy, so we spent a lot of time there. We saw the Sea of Clouds and the sunset. The dinner buffet, which was pretty good, was crowded from 5:30 to 6:30, but uncrowded after 7. There was a 20-minute show at the front at 7:30 pm. The breakfast buffet was OK. The hotel was pretty busy, and there were a lot of tour groups.

GGuest UserTo all fellow hikers heading to Huangshan, I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel! The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle service to/from the South Gate. Its location is incredibly convenient: Wenkouling Station is right outside the door, so even if you miss the last cable car down, a bus from the mountain base will drop you directly at the hotel entrance. The owner upgraded me to a moon-viewing room for free. The scenery was really great. I had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. I was very satisfied with the dinner order. Every dish was delicious. Eight dishes + a few bottles of beer and drinks cost about 60 to 70 yuan per person. I recommend everyone to come. Attached is a picture of the scenery seen from the floor-to-ceiling window in the morning.
