Overall very disappointed with the stay here. Downstairs does not appear that bad but venture upstairs to the accommodation it's not good at all. This place needs closing and some time spending on renovating and cleaning to meet any kind of standard. Room number 2 the door was hanging off the hinges / toilet seat in very poor condition & shower was in serious need of scouring. It was also above the front door & apparent a local meet up place in the morning due to the noise @ 7am by local ramblers / cyclists. I'm all for economising but never have i stayed in a room that doesn't have enough toilet roll for the length of stay ( 2 nights ) & the shower gel watered down. We dined on the 1st night - food adequate but considered over priced. Did we feel welcome - not really , there was little conversation & did not feel hosts approachable. Sorry but I can't bring myself to recommend this place unless it has a major makeover and recruitment of people with personality.

The Worsley Arms Hotel is a lovely hotel located in Hovingham. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and accommodating for my family during our stay. The roast beef dinner and breakfast was absolutely amazing! Compliments to the chefs! Hovingham is such a lovely little village, but the Worsley Arms Hotel really shines and our family will definitely be back again! Very highly recommend!

We only ate at this place and attended an enjoyable concert in the garden . I cannot comment on the accommodation but I felt the glory had somewhat departed ! For example there was quite a lot of dust in the corners in the Ladies toilets and a general lack of care . The taps didn’t work properly and the whole impression was that a make over was needed ! The facilities were however clean . The bar furniture looked a bit tired too but the food was fine and the service too . Perhaps staffing and investment is a bit of a problem for what is otherwise an attractive country pub .

A return visit for us, from 50 years ago! A relaxing one night stay, food beautifully cooked. Appreciated was the comfortable bed and plenty of space. I would agree the decor is dated but that's appealing given that the cleanliness is good. Staff most helpful. Walking from here was much enjoyed.

Having stayed at the Hotel a number of years ago and enjoyed the experience we were looking forward to staying again. Sadly the Hotel is now a tired replica of what it used to be. Their web site flatters in the extreme. Our room was a huge disappointment very basic and in desperate need of refurbishment. The top of a tap was missing, the bath had a large chip out of the enamel and the loo felt it might disintegrate under us. The chairs were also distinctly tired. We felt the staff merely tolerated us being there. We were definitely not made welcome. So sad that we came back to a place that we had enjoyed a few years ago but were hugely disappointed and would never recommend to any friends now.

We were 15 motorcyclists from Essex and were all very well accommodated and looked after on a DBB basis within the main building and the cottages across the road. It’s in a lovely village - don’t miss out going for a walk around especially early morning. Thanks to Tony and all the staff we were well catered for. Ample parking at rear also a bonus for the group. Pre booking breakfast and dinner from menus helped us a lot. The service and food was very good throughout. Accommodation is clean which is as expected, though overall is a bit dated from what we can see, however considering the location and price it’s fantastic value and a winner. We would use as a group again for sure. Thanks 👍

Don’t book here if you want privacy in the bathroom. Room 10 just has a shorter than needed Net curtain up to the window, which doesn’t cover the full length of the window meaning it is overlooked by the neighbour so they can see directly in to the toilet/shower area. When told, the Staff said well it’s only … who lives next door. No attempt was made to resolve this issue. If you had to shower with the light on the net curtain would make no difference anyway. The kettle was placed on the table next to the tea making facilities but had to put on the floor to plug in as the cable did not reach the table. Great service in the restaurant and the food was good but beware of staying here the night

An okay b&b but needs an uplift and redecoration. Have to pre-order fill for breakfast and then wait 20-25 minutes from time you said you would be in breakfast! A bit old fashioned and slow and over priced!!
