Storestølen is a wonderful resort: hospitality, service, fantastic food and a magnificent nature. You will feel as home! We enjoyed the stay and felt it was as a dream. The view from the dining area is amazing. We went skiing and the conditions around there is perfect.

Schöner Aufenthalt mitten in der Natur
Einzigartige Umgebung mitten im Fjell, nicht ganz billig, Frühstück gut, Zimmer neu renoviert schön eingerichtet, das Abendessen ist selbst für norwegische Verhältnisse deutlich zu teuer.

De locatie is prachtig, met uitzicht over het meer. De gastvrouw is uiterst vriendelijk en er heerst een ontspannen sfeer, met een prachtig uitzicht in het restaurant. Erg gezellig. Verder was alles tijdens het verblijf in orde, en de bedden zijn heerlijk.

Beautiful lakeside setting we wish we could have enjoyed longer. Staff member reached out to us when we were running late from a mountain hike and made arrival easy for us. Friendly cat brought us a "gift" after we arrived and kept the vermin away while we slept. Most excellent breakfast in the morning was a classic spread of Scandinavian "bread," which is bread, eggs, cheeses, meats, fresh fruit, cereal, and much more, all serviced in the dining room with a view of the lake.

Arrived in thick fog (coming on skis from Geiterygghytta, and crossing the lake). Everything was ready for us. A lovely clean and comfortable room. Brilliant hot shower. Beautiful lounge/dining areas. Excellent food (and I appreciated the trouble they went to to provide a delicious vegetarian dinner for me). I would definitely like to return again.

Absolutely exceptional stay! Thank you Anne, Torre and Elsa. From the organic and locally sourced food made with love to the roaring fires to warm our feet after days in the snow, everything was perfect. And what a location!! What's not to love? This was my second stay here and I can't wait to come back next year.

Fantastic place, location, atmosphere and food. I have been stopping by Storestølen since childhood, for sourcream porridge and fantastic views of Strandevatn. The place has developed quite a bit since my First visit there 30+ years ago, but the porridge still tastes the same (as it should!) It is served with cured meats and flatbread the traditional way. This time we also tried the meatballs (kjøttkaker) and those also were excellent, with a hint of cardamom and nutmeg(?). The place smells amazing also after changing to be some kind of slow down, healthy food retreat with yoga and some options for learning a sugar, gluten and dairy free diet (this does not apply to the porridge though:)) They also have their own signature soap, and it smells amazing. Tradition and new trends in perfect harmony.
