Super 8 by Wyndham Houghton

Beautiful location. Would stay again. Good value, including pool and sauna, and breakfast with waffle making machine. Only issue was that although it is a Wyndham property, the staff said that they do not receive the expedited check-in form responses that you receive the day before you check-in to a Wyndham property. So, in my case, although I had already pre-paid for an upgraded room and added vehicle information for parking, they said they had no record of my request, and it was only because we checked-in right at 3 PM that an upgraded room was available and I had to re-fill on paper my car info.

Not my best stay. 1st thing. I did not get the Accessible Room AKA Handicapped room I booked. 2. The bathtub had hair and some kind of slimy scum on it. 3. At midnight I couldn't take the noise of the TV in the next room. They had it on MAX volume all day. I had earplugs in, bathroom fan on and the AC running and the base from the TV was vibrating the bed. Text the # at 12:09 AM and they finally got back to me at 12:33 AM asking if it had quieted down yet. Had she walked down to the room she would had known that it did NOT. So tired the next morning I had to leave instead of doing the family outing that was planned to Copper Harbor. The worst $318.00 for 1 night that I have ever spent on a hotel. PS. I would have complained to the front desk prior to leaving but she was on the phone for at least 10 min. complaining about another worker to someone.

Excellent location for Michigan Tech visits or travels to experience the Keweenaw Peninsula! Nice breakfast included to start your day. Close to downtown for restaurants and activities. On the lake, so beautiful walks.

The facilities are exceptionally clean and well maintained. Service is friendly & helpful. The location is phenomenal! Breakfast was typical. Price was decent. The broken front right key card reader is intermittently inop. This is my only complaint.

Great price, clean and comfortable!

We have stayed at this particular hotel many times as my daughter is a student at MTU. Up till this visit I've never had anything negative to say, but this time the bathroom was not clean. Hair is the drain of the bathtub. Hairs around the toilet and baseboards. I went to the front desk and the gentleman apologized profusely. However, there was no one from housekeeping available to come and address the issue. I appreciated the apology but will consider other options before booking here again.
