Carpet soiled, reaked of smoke. Couch very dirty. Stains on couch and carpet throughout entire suite. Refrigerator warm and dirty. Hair in bed. Door knobs about to fall off front lock rickety. Limited bathroom space with dirty bathroom floor for cost of $350/day not including tax/fees- hotel room not cared for at all

My family and I stayed at the Arlington this past weekend and it was awesome! The staff was amazing! They were doing renovations and we can’t wait to go back when they are done and see how awesome it is!!

AC and outlets quit working in the middle of the night during my 2 day stay at the Arlington, on the night before checkout. Woke up covered in sweat and our electronic devices were all uncharged for our trip home.

I wasn’t expecting much but to not have a functioning shower is a deal breaker for me. I was ready to get home and shower. Other than that, my husband and I had a great time. He was up at 5am for his morning run on Saturday and Sunday and raved about the trails. The location is great.

I thought many times how to write this review. I want to preface by saying that the original staff and people who have been there a long time are very sweet and helpful. I honestly think they're what keeps this hotel running. The rest? Ha! Reservations are horrible. The pictures online depicting the romance package is an absolute waste of money. Seriously, the flowers aren't real And you might as well go pick up some fake tea lights for a couple dollars, throw some fake pedals on the bed and buy chocolate and your own bottle of wine or champagne. The tea lights would be an upgrade. It'll look better. Two, making special requests is a thing sometimes and it would be different if they told me that it couldn't make it happen. But I asked for 2 days and it took a maintenance worker on the floor overhearing everything to make it happen. Not the manager staff despite the fact that they were the ones who told me they could do it. The disability access room has a huge lip that they say is ADA regulated for wheelchair access and keeps water in. Don't be fooled. The wheelchair can get caught and it is a complete trip hazard if you use a cane. I'm lucky I don't have any bleeding or bruises. No disabled person should get the ADA room. The regular bathtub rooms DO have a step up but also have a single metal bar in the tub. I can't say anything for the showers because I didn't get to look at a normal room. There also isn't any seating in the ADA bathroom shower. There was water damage on the walls even in the sleeping area and a huge water leak in the AC. I don't know about the rest of the disability rooms but this was my experience in 559. When I upgraded to a larger room to get out of The ADA room the next day (which I paid for), The room was much nicer, cleaner and with the exception of not having standard disability bars was actually SAFER. I have no idea what the other historical rooms are like- But from what I've seen if you are not disabled you probably will have a better time than I did. I can't say that I would recommend this to a disabled person. It's not due to how the original hotel was built. It's a lack on the owner. Also someone needs to upgrade the pool area. The glass above the hot tub is broken out in some places and looks completely dirty. You can tell where grit was put in on the pool floors and was never replaced. I understand that some things are historical accuracy like the beautiful lobby and dining area. But other things are just disappointing.

The Arlington hotel was a joy to stay at. From the rich history to the great food at brunch and dinner, this is a place to see and see again. Loved it and will come back soon. Don't miss the ice cream shop in the basement as the ice cream and service to excellent.

I have visited the Arlington many times over the past 35 years. My children grew up with wonderful memories of stopping at the Arlington, swimming in the pool, and breakfast in the dining room with the wonderful service. Unfortunately those days are past as this beautiful, classic hotel has fallen into horrible disrepair. On our recent visit, we were given a room that had an odor that I cannot even describe how horrific it was, the carpet was filthy and actually shredded in about 5 spots, the plumbing was broken, the walls were peeling and the tiles and marble were broken. It was past horrible. The better news was at least they moved us when we complained. It was better. At least it did not reek but still it needed some serious work. I had taken a friend who I told stories of the wonderful old building. It was embarrassing. I will say that the pool and hot tub are still good. I used to love the large front entrance area. It used to be bright and cheerful. Now it is redecorated in gray. Very sad and boring. I hate to see what happened to the Arlington. It used to be a treasure. Not now.
