Likes: * Heater + fan provided in rooms * Rooms are spacious with plenty of room for bags etc. * Pillow protectors + bedding are clean, soft and comfy * Free (1) beer if you stay 2+ nights * Close to lots of local attractions * Parking on site * Powder room to get ready * The guy who runs the brewery / pizza is super nice and chatty Dislikes: * House rules are quite strict - want us out the hostel during the day (there is lots to do locally, but we just thought this was strange) also can only shower at certain times etc. * There are fridges for you to store cold food but no where specific to store dry foods Improvements: * Wifi downstairs sucks and no wifi upstairs in bedrooms - there are notices around the hostel saying this will happen eventually, but we were shocked it wasn’t already a thing

We arrived in Port Campbell after driving from Melbourne along the Great Ocean Road (highly recommended!). The friendly receptionist offered us a choice of cabins. The one we chose was at the front. It was comfortable & spacious and had a well-equipped kitchen. Price was reasonable. Free parking. I would stay here again.
GGuest UserCentrally located with the convenience of food and supermarket. At the same time, the only inn with the best view in sight. We booked a sea view room and was able to enjoy a mug of coffee at the porch while enjoying the beautiful ocean view. Facilities are adequate and well maintained. The thermal bed is the best consideration the inn has offered for a comfy, warm sleep in winter. Best lodging I've stayed during my coastal drive trip.
GGuest UserThe double room unit was spacious and well-appointed. It was spotlessly clean. The bed was comfortable and there were two lounge chairs as well as a small table for dining. The bathroom was luxurious with heat lamps and an adjustable flow shower head. The kitchenette had no sink but a plastic bowl was supplied for washing dishes. There was a laundry available with a small charge - $4 per wash/dry. There was a nice garden view and outdoor seating. Very good free Wifi connection. A small swimming pool was available for guests. There was ample, easily accessible parking. The staff at reception were very helpful and friendly.
GGuest UserThis accommodation has the best location - directly opposite Port Campbell bay - with its beautiful beach and jetty. And the shops and restaurants are all a short stroll away. The accommodation has been recently renovated and is spacious, clean and really comfortable. And for a change I could even access Freeview to stream something I actually wanted to watch. The manager is friendly and incredibly helpful. I had trouble with the heater (my fault) and called the manager (afterhours) and he turned up within a few minutes, smiling and doing all he could to help.
HHUANA single wooden house with a lot of space and quiet surroundings. I slept for a long and stable night. The landlord JIM was warm and friendly. He came to check in shortly after check-in to understand the needs of the guests and asked if there was anything that could help. As a stop on the Great Ocean Road, the price is very high.
GGuest UserThe room is generally clean, bit of wear and tear and some exit mould wouldn’t go amiss in the showers but good bed and quality linen with a bathroom that has been updated in the last few years. Check in experience was a little strange, I’d booked Best Western but no signage at property as it’s called Great Ocean Road Studios. However on back of room key is a business card branded Best Western with the GM’s details. Room keys with paper tags denoting your last name all lined up on a plastic fold up table with little instruction, not as welcoming as other tourist town motels I’ve been. I understand the concept but had concerns that people can take and access your room before check in, including guest information privacy. No facilities at Motel, if you need anything you need to go to town (500m away - Motel is on outskirts of township - all others appear in the centre of town) Supermarket is open late but don’t be surprised that most other things are only open from 8AM, if you’re travelling on from here get supplies in Port Campbell the night before. Only one place for Coffee at 07:30 and you can’t miss the line up of people trying to get theirs before hitting the road including the locals. Don’t stay in rooms 9 or 14, there are rooms above with no sound insulation. I heard everything including the conversation of guests, TV and every time people moved or walked about the roof and walls would shake, not to mention one night I had family above and kids were running up and down the stairs. This also includes hearing the rooms next door. The Accom buildings, although look permanent feel like they are prefab kit accommodation almost like demountables you get on mine sites. Stayed 3 Nights (Probably more than most guests) in total and not once was the place cleaned/serviced - notional sign about cleanliness practises but I didn’t experience this. Probably great for 1 Night quick stays during travelling the Great Ocean Road but I’d choose another option in town for longer stays.
My husband and I stayed 2 nights in the dog friendly, queen cottage, with a country view. We were greeted by a dog who was very friendly. The checkin was contact less. First impressions were already disappointing. We made our way to our 'cottage'. The garden areas were neglected and overgrown with weeds. The front steps were covered in fake grass, with real grass growing through it, nails popping out. The porch was dirty and small. There were overgrown shrubs in front of the verandah blocking any view. There was a plant, in full fruit, growing through the verandah known as Beladona or Deadly nightshade. A very poisonous ****. Not a good plant to have growing in a child and dog friendly environment. Inside the squeeking front door, with a lock that was less than secure, we were gob smacked by the unkempt and unloved condition of this accommodation. Curtains hanging down, grubby bench tops, unfinished paint, filthy light fittings with dead bugs in them. A tiny dining table with one placement cut in half. In the bathroom, the fan was not working, and we found the wiring for it in the drawer. There was 1 small set of drawers and 1 small cupboard. The double hot plate was not working on one side. The BBQ looked very uninviting as the cover was fithy and sticky. The bed was warm and comfortable but not a queen as advertised. There is NO restaurant or food served as advertised. There were no dog bowls or bed. Not even for water. The area for the dog to run around in was not secured by a fence or gates. Nor was the verandah. I have never left a negative review for any place we've stayed at. But the neglect of this place was unbelievable, particularly given the price we paid. I feel like it is falsely advertised big time. It's a shame. This accommodation has so much potential. We won't be back.
