Let me tell you about my experience. First off the mistake was ours to own, however, it would have been nice to have had someone willing to work with us. We did not actually get to stay here and this is the reason. My wife booked the room reservations (2 rooms for 2 nights) through the online reservations desk via "Choice Hotels". We booked the reservation because we were going to Pennyroyal for our open water certification dives. Should have booked directly through Hopkinsville and we would have found out about the discount for Pennyroyal. Didn't happen. Anyway the weather wasn't looking very good for diving so my wife called to cancel. (couldn't cancel the reservation because it was placed online). Charged full price for 2 rooms 2 nights and the hotel could cancel the reservation, and did. Were told, by the desk, if we called back the rooms could be reinstated. Weather looked to be better so my wife called back to reinstate the rooms and she was told that they couldn't be reinstated and that there wasn't a refund. We understood that there wouldn't be a refund, however, we had hoped that they would work with us and reinstate the rooms as we were told and the rooms were already paid for. Contacted Choice privileges to see if there was some way to rectify this and they told me that they couldn't do anything about it that it is up to the Hotel to resolve the issue. We were not looking for a refund and knew that we would loose it if we chose to not stay that weekend. We were not offered an alternate date either, which we could have rescheduled based on the Diver Course. Either way we are without a room and deeper in debt. Moral of the story, make sure you read the fine print, understand what it states and don't take anybody's word without getting it in writing. The picture is of the online price guarantee policy. It states that the reservation cannot be cancelled, changed, etc... and that the rooms will be held until 7:00 AM the morning following your scheduled arrival date. Apparently this is not true because the hotel can cancel your reservation and you are still responsible for the bill. This appears to be the Choice policy and not the individual Hotel policy otherwise we would have been told we can not cancel the reservation. Hard lesson to learn and hard pill to swallow.
