We have been lucky enough to stay at the Cottage Hotel a few times. It is the perfect escape to relax and enjoy the lovely delicious food and the excellent walks to walk it all off !!

WHAT a find!! Absolutely charming hotel - a little dated, which gave it so much charm - though we only visited for lunch and some drinks. Very warmly greeted by the equally charming and very funny Neil, who didn't just make us feel welcome but actually made us feel special. The food was good and very reasonably priced, the view simply fantastic - in short, we were blown away by the experience. Looking forward to returning. Thank you Neil for looking after us so well and William, for your crafty photographic skills and happy banter.

Amazing location, delicious food, fabulous service and welcoming staff. We’ve been staying at this hotel for years and always have an excellent welcome, it’s home from home. Very good value for money as the food choice and quality is exceptional. Thank you to the whole team for an amazing stay. We’d highly recommend this hotel, amazing views of the sea even if the weather is rough. We’ve travelled the world but so much prefer our nights at the Cottage Hotel always a 5* service 🥰

5 mins walk up the hill and around 45 years back in time ... But in a lovely nostalgic way! The 5 course table d'hote menu was delicious and reflected a different era of hospitality. Even the menu choices were classic dishes. The ambience of the cruise ship style dining room felt smart and comfortable with lighting designed for you to see the food and your fellow diners! The new manager was perhaps a little too full of bonhomie but even that brought back memories of the 1970s. Great location and good value

The Cottage Hotel is located in a spectacular position. Our overnight stay was very enjoyable, the staff were very welcoming and the rooms clean and comfortable. The evening meal was delicious with plenty of choice and the breakfast was also of a very high standard.

We’ve stayed here many times before and look forward to the relaxed and easy atmosphere William and his enthusiastic team always achieve. The views are unparalleled, the breakfasts are wonderful, and the dining menu, always good, has gone up several notches. We love our stays here, a great place to unwind and relax with discreet and attentive service.

The rooms are really poor the food is average and it’s just totally outdated. If only they spent the money they have spent building an AWFUL and UGLY extension in the hotel they had already desperately needing updating. If they had renovated what they had instead of creating the awful new part, which isn’t even open, and is FAR too big for the setting, and TOTALLY ruins the wonderful location it is in. How did they even get away with such a horrible orange extension in such a small AONB? Where were the planning laws? It’s far too big for the area and ORANGE! So disappointed and suggest to avoid!
