Heel veel in het hotel was goed. Het diner en het ontbijt waren prima, ook de ontbijtruimte was goed qua inrichting. Er is echter ook het nodige aan te merken. De tweepersoonstafels in het restaurant staan veel te dicht bij elkaar. Je hebt totaal geen privacy. Het "stinkt" in het restaurant er is onvoldoende afzuiging, je ruikt de keuken. Toen ik mijn toetje at proefde ik als het ware de hachee van mijn "buurvrouw", heel onaangenaam. Er liep meerdere keren een muis langs onze voeten tijdens het ontbijt, ik vind dat niet kunnen. Er was geen handzeep in de pomp bij de wastafel en ook geen badschuim bij het bad. Er mist een douchekapje, iets wat je elders bij Van der Valk wel hebt. Wij zijn namelijk echte “Van der Valkgangers” zodat we dit weten uit eigen ervaring. De bureaulamp op onze kamer (601) was stuk we hebben gevraagd om die te maken, maar dat is niet gebeurd. Ik heb onze bevindingen ook gemeld nav een verzoek van het hotel om feedback, maar daarop is niet gereageerd.

Ons verblijf in Van der Valk Hoorn was ingegeven door de wens carnaval in het zuiden te vermijden. dat is gelukt. Wij hadden een executive room voor 3 nachten. Het is ons heel goed bevallen. Inclusief twee chef-cooking oid , Verrast zijn wij door Hoorn. mooie stad en een authentieke binnenstad. Service was goed. Zwembad wat klein maar vaak alleengebruik. Alle medewerking voor persoonlijke wensen.

Wij zijn goed bekend met dit hotel, goede bedden, schoon, prima locatie, veel activiteiten ook in de omgeving, inpandig een ****** en bioscoop, historisch dorp met prachtige gevels en een haven op loopafstand, vriendelijk personeel en heerlijk eten!

Mooi hotel, met keurige en ruime kamers. Er is ook een klein zwembad met daarbij een Finse sauna en een bescheiden fitnessruimte. Dichtbij het gezellige centrum van Hoorn gelegen (zo'n 15 a 20 min wandelen) en zeer vriendelijke medewerksters bij de receptie, zoals Jane. Je voelt je meteen welkom.

Even gezellig een drankje in de bar links van de ingang is bijna niet mogelijk. 3x aan de bar geweest met de vraag of ik iets te drinken kon bestellen. Werd 2x weg gestuurd met de boodschap “ga lekker zitten, mijn collega komt de bestelling opnemen” na 35 minuten dus voor de derde keer aan de bar geweest met de vraag of we alstublieft iets te drinken konden bestellen. Personeel loopt maar wat heen en weer en kijkt niet om zich heen.
