Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire

From minute one you receive great service for all your needs. Valet parking, bags to room, room service, lovely restaurant and bar with great food and drink choices. And then a room turn down for sleep. We were visiting for a family wedding and enjoyed the function areas, garden areas and hotel grounds. The food and drink with the event was amazing and both evenings we stayed were brilliant. We really enjoyed the wedding and the venue really added to the whole experience. We took in the gym, spa and the pool also whilst there and these were good. Everyone enjoyed their stay and I would highly recommend this venue.

The hotel property is nice enough, but we stayed on more well-maintained grounds during our time in England (Estelle Manor in the Cotswolds, in particular, was nicer and less expensive per night, for example). The staff here were really the highlight of our stay. They were very approachable and quick to provide anything we needed. Our flight was delayed, and they happily re-booked reservations at the restaurant. The room was clean and well-kept. The bed was comfortable. Our main issue was the number of unattended children running around this place. It was not the staff's fault; in fact, we felt very bad about how much the staff had to balance being a babysitter with their actual role at the hotel. During our stay, a child wet himself on a fabric chair (which was not cleaned) and on the floor in the La Terrazza. Later, at the main restaurant, after 8pm, another child pulled our tablecloth, wandering around unattended and spilt my husband's drink on our table. The staff was gracious and moved us to another part of the restaurant with fewer children. For how upscale the hotel is, we felt that our experience was closer to a mid-range family resort. However, if you have kids, this may be the perfect place for you. Pros - - Staff was great - Close to Stonehedge and Downton Abbey (Highclere Castle) - Wood-fired pizza was very good - Only a 1-hour drive from the London Airport Cons - - Too many children (VERY family-friendly property) - The hotel concierge was not great. He told us the incorrect time for Highclere Castle's hours of operation and also told us our tickets included 'line skipping' into the main building, but we were told that was no longer offered to Four Seasons ticket holders - The food at the main restaurant was mixed for the price. Apps were good, but both main courses weren't great..my husband's steak was incredibly salty but was cooked well. Potatoes had an overwhelming amount of truffles. - The property is very rural and the restaurant/bar were ghost towns for weekend evenings, so there was not much in terms of entertainment In the end, we felt there were better hotels in England for the same price and would not likely return here.

Big disappointment given the high standard of the Four Seasons brand. The log fire shown in all the photos is in fact gas and is situated in the reception area, so not somewhere you can sit in peace reading a book as the doors are contantly opening and closing and attendant activity. The other log fire shown in the 'library' is usually jammed with folks come in for their cream teas, mostly non hotel guests.. so again unusable for much of the time. The pool and spa area was lovely, if not up to usual four seasons standards (IMO). Lots of very long corridors. Dining was dreadful. Food mediocre and small children running amok everywhere. would never return and not recommend. Grounds gorgeous.

Sadly disappointed with the afternoon tea experience at the fours seasons. Whilst I rate this venue and its beautiful surroundings the afternoon tea was a huge let down, my reason for this is: a small amount of sandwiches 4 small finger sandwiches per person with uninspiring and stingy fillings, that when asked I was told they wouldn’t be topped up - I did then ask for more and was provided with another four to share but the fact that they limit the sandwiches on a £65 per person I found “mean” There was a plentiful selection of pastries which were “very average” for this venues normal level, followed by scones and cake both were pleasant but again no wow factor which I was hoping for. I would also recommend wearing a scarf as that appeared to be the dress code of the majority.

Amazing stay - a perfect family bank holiday weekend. They have great service, attention to detail and plenty of food / restaurants options whilst keeping a boutique hotel feel. Also very well catered for pets which made the weekend very easy.

Just stunning. We went for drinks and dinner, keen to experience some five star service after some bang average meals out recently and the four seasons wild carrot did not disappoint. From the moment we arrived the staff could not do enough for us, and all their guests. One of the bar staff even poured a completely fresh glass of champagne for my partner rather than top up the last third from a different bottle. Food was amazing. Steak melted in my mouth (and I have it well done!) Such a gorgeous experience and gave us exactly what we were after. Its not cheap, but its miles ahead of other “fine dining” restaurants in the area that I’ve been to recently

Nice hotel but not clearly advertised it’s really for kids/families… spent the weekend in a very noisy environment with kids everywhere. Completely understandable except we were a couple staying somewhere not advertised as a kids hotel

This was our third stay at Four Seasons Hampshire in the Royal Suite and we had a wonderful time. The hotel is in a great location, with easy access to countless attractions across several counties. In my opinion, this hotel is really unique. It is the only Four Seasons property in the UK outside of central London and it is really something special. The hotel facilities and food are fantastic but but the thing that really makes this hotel standout are the staff. They all seem to enjoy working there and work together as a family to deliver a great guest experience. Large numbers of the staff are unchanged since our first stay and the newer staff are all incredibly friendly and passionate about their jobs. Whilst everyone was amazing, I would particularly like to say thank you to Trevor, Michell, Alex, Isabel, Eleanor, Surinder, Yogesh and Andrew. This hotel is an indulgence and the Royal Suite is not cheap but you will still receive the same outstanding service even if you are in a lower grade room. We have vowed not to leave it too long before we return to Four Seasons Hampshire again and I thoroughly recommended it.
